Where you get your Viennas and Beef. He makes his own roast beef with the signature marinade rather than buying a commercial product which should be commended. However it is heavily seasoned so you really need to like the saltiness. Rachel liked it more than I did. I was also having stomach issues this morning so my opinion could be marred by my general crappy mood. So take it with a grain of salt, literally. The fries are fresh cut. The ketchup isn't Heinz, though, it's a much sweeter one, possibly Hunts. I am not a Vienna Beef hotdog fan because of its blandness and don't like the condiment loading of that particular style (i prefer some of the more spicier Chicago brands), but I did order his Maxwell Street polish (which is a Vienna product) and it was very good, nice and smoky, great with the grilled onions, mustard and the Vienna roll. If you're more of a New York style hot dog fan, as I am, the smoky and garlicky polish would be my pick. The Italian sausages also looked good. Legit, I'd say so. Atmosphere is totally a shrine to the Windy City, complete with not so PC photos and posters. Grill has cheeseborger cheeseborgers going which looked pretty good. read more

I haven't had a good Chicago beef since I left Chicago so I had my hopes up...only to be disappointed. The hot dogs are great though as are the fries. Fun outdoor seating but it is not dog-friendly. Lots of Chicago memorabilia which I really enjoyed even it was a little heavy on the Cubs side. read more

I am a Huge Chicago Hot dog and Pizza lover here. I even owned several places in my 68 years. I am from Brandon Fl doing a Government Inspection here in the area and had to stop by. I have Portillos here and several other places. Which are great. Only bought a hot dog today. The dog was very plain and lazy/lax. Sort of cold, no Celery salt, the tomatoes were chopped up ( not chicago style- sliced and halves) very skimpy on the onions and relish. The whole dog project was sort of smashed up. The fries were fresh cut but not crispy/ crunchy as they should be. maybe 30 minutes old. The price was 6,39 over the advertised price online. $4.97 and $4.67 $5.89 all over the place I did not question to get that price. I hope they get chicago style and have great fries like we used to get in Chicago. read more

Very good- I regretted ordering one hot dog because not only they are light but delicious with even better toppings. Shld have taken 2 dog special which will save you few dollars instead of order separate dogs. Fries and brat dog/fire dog are great- not so spicy. You will never be disappointed with this place! The dogs are delicious, last time I had a really good salad, the staff is great/nice/down to earth/friendly....just the best. It's not only a place tourist stop in to but it's a locals spot too. If you aren't hungry then go for a drink. Everyone chats with everyone around the bar and it's just a chill atmosphere.
