I liked Tony's when I was in the area several years ago, but for some reason I've skipped them since I've returned. I made a stop for a few things while I was in the neighborhood and I've been kicking myself for not shopping here. I'll be making up for it. I was in the area and decided to stop for a few essential pantry items. They have a fantastic bakery section and offer a large variety of ethnic foods. The produce section offers fresh fruits and vegetables and even freshly squeezed orange juice. I enjoyed their array of prepared food and side dishes sold by weight at a reasonable price. The store was clean and well organized/stocked. I'd return if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Overall pretty good. Great parking, good sales and inside the grocery store is clean. Cashier line moves very quickly and store isles are open with lots of room to maneuver the shopping cart. The fresh fruit, vegetables and big selection of dairy products like yogurt, milk and eggs. Many organic options too. There are also several isles dedicated to imported foods which is always fun to try something new. Overall a good experience. read more

Love Tony's. It's a huge grocery store with a really good produce and meat/seafood dept. I always love my trips to Tony's since it has almost everything I look for. The weekly ads usually have some really good deals. This time I picked up a whole salmon. The best part...the fish mongers clean and prep the fish for you so it's totally easy when you get home. (No mess). If you have their app, you could also get their Friday freebie deals, a product giveaway each week. read more

So I've shopped at Tony's for quite a while really, the problem is inconsistency of their meat products not a bad store also inconsistency of their ceviche I get it maybe different people make it but at least be consistent in your recipe. It really doesn't take much the problem I have with the meat department is buying ground meat getting home opening it up being brown on the inside or chicken opening it up chicken parts smelling and today was the topper T-bone steak great cut meat easier to cook and I do cook a lot cooked at medium olive oil, salt and pepper. That's all you need on a good steak who is the most toughest the most joyous piece of meat it was actually their brand with your label on it. Of course the fillet was very good but how do you buy T-bone and being a very chewy and again I did cook it medium always that's a good temperature to cook that steak done buying meat at the store either the guys are working the department don't care don't check their meat as they put them on their shelves very disappointing and I'm in shopping at Tony's now for quite a long time read more

02/10/21 - Tony's is a chain of stores in the Chicago area. All Tony's aren't created equal. This store in Park Ridge is one of the nicer stores in the line. They are always super cleaned & well stocked w/a large selection & variety of different merchandise. As you walk in there is a section w/prepared foods. Everything from packaged sushi to a salad bar & a hot food bar. The especially impressed w/the hot food bar w/some of the items to pick from like hot pork carnitas, chicken Flautas, chili lime roasted salmon, beef pot roast, beef fajitas to name a few. Their salad bar has a full range of salad fixings and hot soup. As you round the corner there is a large very well stocked produce section. On the left side there is an entire section of about 10 different salsas, guacamole and fresh peeled garlic from California. They have a huge selection of nuts packaged and ready to go. As you continue back there is a huge selection of pastries of course they're all fat free & sugar free (NOT HE's LYING). Every time I go there the seafood section has beautiful fresh looking seafood some whole fish & many filets to chose from & always well stocked. I have been to some other stores where the fish have red eyes and don't look too fresh. The meat section especially is also very well stocked w/very fresh looking meats & poultry, but for me and my sister we found the beef even though it's priced reasonably & looks good is acking in quality (only negative in this store). The chicken & pork products are all good. We had a few minutes to kill today between appointments @ Advocate Lutheran General so we were able to peruse the store and pick out a few items. We bought a package of 4 chocolate croissants for $3.99. Great price on decent quality chocolate croissants. We were going to go back after but kind of ran out of time. I have been here before and I will be back again as this is one of my favorite Tony's stores. They are very well managed always super clean and well stocked w/a store that's enjoyable to shop in. read more

On a quiet fall Thursday morning, I found this grocery store to be quite nice for browsing. It was colorful, spacious, nice, and organized. Especially colorful at this time of year with Halloween decor. Usually it's a bustlin' busy zoo with a commensurate zoo-ish parking lot and a place I try to avoid. In other words, business is usually pretty good here. While the wife was doing her usual serious grocery business, I enjoyed putzin' around amongst the open aisles and well organized and attractive inventories. I think general merchandise quality is kinda average but produce and sale items always seem like a draw for us here. read more

So sad, after decades being a satisfied customer shopping at Tony's in a few locations something has happened to Tony's. At the Niles Tony's they had a sign by cherries of 99 cents a pound, limit 6 pounds. No mention on sign of needing digital coupon or digital discount which some items have. Many people were getting bags of the cherries, but at the register they were charged $1.99 a pound and the staff wouldn't give another price. My wife found herself with with $1.99 price after checking out. The rude staff said because the 99 cents were surrounded with a blue background that meant it was a digital price, though there were no words to that effect on the sign as their digital deal signs have. The nasty shift manager said I should not be giving her an attitude, and I said I get unhappy when people lie and steal from me. Two women getting cherries said to the manager "wait, these aren't 0.99 cents a pound?" and she said only to those getting the digital discount. They both put the cherries back! So, after spending thousands dollars at Tony's over the years, we're not going there any more. Their rude, nasty thieving staff are going to drive away customers. that rude nasty women just cost Tony's thousands of dollars in future lost business! read more

They advertise sale prices to get you in the store and even when you clip their coupons they still refuse to honor the prices. Horrible customer service. Sale was in the paper at the front of the store. Still active on their website. No reason to say you won't honor your own coupons. Jewel down the street has the same prices and honors their sales. Jimmy Dean Bacon on sell this week, limit 2 per coupons on app. Prospect Heights store had signs in 2 areas where bacon was located, noting limit of 3. Took a picture of the sign after being charged $3.99 for 1 package. Received the dollar back. Check your receipt. This is not a first instant for me at this store. read more

No more! The last two times I shopped here i get home to fine out I was overcharged on multiple products, to the tune of 20 to $25 each time. Long story short, I hadn't been to Tony's in a few years, but randomly found out that they now have a salad bar and hot food bar. This would expand my working-from-home lunch options significantly, so I had to check it out. It's $6.99/lb for salad and $7.99/lb for hot food. The cold side has a lot of mixed salads, not as much selection of plain vegetables and salad ingredients like you might see elsewhere. On the hot side, there is a nice variety: plenty of fun bad-for-you foods such as fried chicken, chicken wings in various flavors, onion rings, polish sausage, italian sausage, mac & cheese, breaded mushrooms; many other options such as pot roast, meat loaf, roast pork, salmon, various pastas, different types of potatoes, fried rice, brussels sprouts, asparagus, et al et al. Not all at once, mind you. This is a sampling from three visits last month. A few items are good (I really like the rib tips, of all things) but most are just okay. Things tend to get either mushy or dried out more than other hot bars that I've frequented; everything is lukewarm. But I'm glad that it's there. I purchase at Tony's once in a while because his app is too confused and do not use it anymore(IT dept is no good), but this time was something different, on 12-31-2024 I expend 62.80 and was charged 182.80 because I use my Discover card and at the time of payment it promted me if I want cash , I selected NO but when I was finishing packing my products and pick up my receipts the machine promt me saying DON'T FORGET YOUR CHANGE and 120 dollars came out of the machine, that I never requested in addition to that there is no such amount in the cash pront when you use credit cards the girl that was in charge of those machines did not know anything she only told me you requested, but there is no 120 amount to request and the line was so long to go to customer service to inquire about the problem, it only have NO, and increment of 50's not that amount of 120, most of the time I do not pick up up my receipt, so if I did not pick it up, somebody was going to take the money and I will be liable to pay 120 dollars to the credit card company or I will dispute my charge with them, to get an investigation, I call Discover and they said that is the company machine problem, After I call Discover I call the Store and requested to speak to the General manager and a gentleman Bill get to the phone and ask me about the machine # in the bottom of receipt and it sad the he will take care of that, SO PLEASE BEWARE WITH TONY'S STORES about self pay machines, they should take those questions out of their machines most of the stores do not have that.......BEWARE I attached picture of receipt read more

The store is dirty. The people in the meat department don't even want to be bothered with you. I had picked out three things to purchase. I went into the self, checkout line, and all the prices were wrong. I had to get out of line and go and take photos to prove that they were the wrong prices. The woman did not have anyone else to help me.it is supposed to be a neighborhood Grocery store serving the neighborhood. The prices are higher than any other grocery store in the area. No matter which location I go to I am always overcharged at Tony's. The app is awful and glitches all of the time. Even when you clip the coupons it doesn't always process whenever you're at the cash register. Prices and specials doesn't always get changed to reflect the sales price. This is a known thing at Tony's for years. Warning to all shoppers please look at your receipts. Also, Tony's needs to work with a different vendor to make their receipts clear and easy to follow just like at Jewel. My family will not be shopping here ever again. Multiple times, over a period of months, they put up sale prices all over the store but when they ring u up they charge full price. The last time this happened, they over charged my husband by $35. They told him he would be getting a refund but it never posted to his account. I cannot tell you how many times my stuff hasn't rung up correctly and I have to stand in a long line to get refunded because there is never more than one person behind the customer service counter at a time. Tony's does have good produce and deli, but they are overpriced on packaged goods. Also, they are not sympathetic to people who have special dietary needs, particularly gluten free. Well, not the best place to shop during the current worldwide pandemic. I tried to place my first pick up order with them and the nearest available date they had for picking up was nearly 10 days away. I placed the order anyway, received a confirmation for curbside pick up in 9 days and after that, no further correspondence until the morning of my scheduled pick up. With that notification, I noticed by looking at my grocery list that about 3/4 of the items I had ordered were no longer available. And, of course, by informing me on the morning of the scheduled pick up day itself it was too late to cancel the order and get a refund as per their "rules." In addition, most of the stuff that had been canceled were items that had been on sale at a substantial discount when the order was placed. I checked the site and all of the items they had canceled were still showing available at the store for pick up, but now for higher prices. Not very principled or ethical behavior on any level. I filled out their online contact form explaining the situation and my disappointment in their poor service, but received no response at all. I had been a loyal Tony's in store customer for years, but after this debacle I have decided to take my business elsewhere. read more

I occasionally get grocery curbside when we have a busy week. It's truly the best in the Joliet area. My shoppers were Jen & Dalania yesterday & they were awesome. They were patient (I was working and couldn't get back to them right away) and made sure my substitutions kept me getting my sale prices. They chose better bananas than I usually do, to be honest. I am impressed! I ordered at 3am for pickup someday at 3pm. It was ready by 2pm, which worried me until they told me everything is temperature controlled until I am there. It set my mind at ease. The only issue I have is with the receipts Tony's uses. I like the sale prices to be shown on the same line as my item, not bundled later... and today when I looked at my order it says $109 and yesterday it was $127, so I am wondering why the dramatic difference and can I recoup that difference. There was a $6 fee, but I had a $10 coupon, so that shouldn't be it. read more

The store is decent, but the digital app sucks. You don't receive the prices listed because the app never loads at checkout. Two honest cashiers told me they won't download the app even though they work there. They said the app absolutely sucks. They agreed the IT Department should be fired because the app sucks.
