Definitely a place you want to check out. Clearly more of a local spot which is exactly what I seek. Plenty of people in the water and on the sand with great food and drinks to accentuate the experience. The tortilla soup rocks and the fajitas were muy perfecto

    Sangria with FRESH lemons

Last night we ventured to Tony's on the Beach which is a local favorite, owned by Tony and his family for the past 31 years. We arrived late around 8:30pm so we had the place to ourselves but you felt like you were royalty. Everyone was so nice, and they were so excited we spoke Spanish so they could ask a lot of questions (they speak very little english but can communicate very well as the menus are in English as well). This place is 100% authentic, no touristy type atmosphere. Located right on the beach in the back of a small strip mall type of structure, you have to know it's here or you will miss it. Pass Chunky's on the West side of Av. Camaron Saballo and go through the building to the back and you'll find Tony's. Even the Pulmonia (taxi) driver wasn't sure where it was which tells you it's not a tourist place. Everything here is made from scratch when you order so don't be in a rush. Even the Sangria here is made with them freshly squeezing lemons (not ready made lemonade like you see a lot of restaurants do there). It was less sweet than the other places which was excellent and really how it should be. Now I know the secret to a great sangria. With a little sparkling water added this is a fantastic refreshing drink. The chips here are huge (see photo) so plenty of scooping power for the freshly made salsas. We ordered the Tony's Special Fajitas and glad we did. Nice portions of beef (melt in your mouth), shrimp, and chicken (very moist!) piled on the place covered with cheese, and sautéed peppers and onions, along with refritos y queso blanco es muy excellente. We were treated like royalty from everyone all evening but it was not overwhelming and felt genuine. We found out they open daily until 9:30pm but we were not rushed to finish at all. Now here is the best part.... the FLAN! OMG the FLAN here is homemade and you can tell if you are a flan lover this is completely hand made. Served in ice cream style low cut glass the custard is literally floating on top of the vanilla extract sauce. This is the smoothest and creamiest flan I have ever had anywhere in the states or in Mazatlan. Paired with a hot coffee this was the icing on the cake for me. Don't miss Tony's when you are in Mazatlan. It was not only great food but a great experience with great people that really care about you having a good experience. Gracia Tony's nos lo pasamos muy bien! 5 stars

Absolutely love this place. Highly suggest the lobster, shrimp and fish platter. More than enough for two but I would still add the tortilla soup.

Popular beachfront restaurant - competing for customers with a another popular restaurant (just a few feet away). They both have a similar menu and view but Tony's offers a few unique items and seems to try (and do) "a little more" - such as offering free kahlua and cream after your meal. I liked their mango (mahi) fish filet.

Super friendly staff, great food and drinks. Little pricey but great experience. Beautiful view of the beach. Would absolutely go again - highly recommend.

Went for breakfast at "Tony's on the Beach" today. It's the only place in Mazatlan that I would recommend pancakes! They were fluffy, delicious and the maple syrup was really good. A choice of meat comes with it. All the breakfasts comes with your choice of fruit or juice and coffee or tea.

    Ice cream "for one"

Very good food is only the beginning. The family atmosphere and unbelievable customer service is what will keep you coming back. Most small restaurant owners take pride in their establishment and the time you spend with them. Segundo takes this to the next level and beyond. This was our first visit, but we already feel like family, and it was clear that "regulars" were known by name. When we ordered ice cream for ONE of the four of us, imagine our surprise when what was brought to the table was a full quart of ice cream! Not saying this is will happen to the next party that wants ice cream, and I don't expect it for us next time, but there will definity be a next time for us. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the marvelous ocean view you enjoy along with your food, libations, and hospitality.

We have came here for the past 10 years and each time it is better than I remember. Most of our table ordered lobster. The lobster came out with two whole lobsters halted and grilled and seasoned to perfection for only $25.00!!! I ordered the shrimp tacos which were delicious but I must admit, I had lobster envy. The service was 10 times better than our 5 star resort, the view of course was the star. Steps away from the crashing waves, our view boasted a glorious sun set with a green hue!! Thanks Tony and family!

It was probably one of the best meals I've had in me entire life - and I'm a foodie! We had lobster thermador, a grilled fish sampler platte, and cerviche at a table right by the beach and as the sun was setting. All this for $60 - $75 with tip. Do not be fooled by the all inclusive - leave the hotel and go here for the best seafood in Matzatlan!

Which we later found out was a VERY good idea. Their meal was very over priced and apparently just pretty mediocre pub fare. Alagua is just around the block from Senor Frogs so it made for an easy evening to just walk over there after dinner without having to worry about a cab ride. We walked down the gravel path to an empty, but gorgeously set up open air dining room. We were greeted by many friendly staff eager to serve us and the most delicious smelling food. We were there in January 2014, which seemed to be quite a slow time for the entire city, so we were the only people in the restaurant for the majority of the evening. We asked for a menu but our friendly waiter asked if we might be interested in checking out the buffet. We did and it looked tasty, so we opted for that option. I can't remember the exact cost but I do remember it was about $13-15 each for the buffet and all the beer you could drink. The food was AMAZING. We sampled a little bit of everything and there was a chef waiting at the end of the line to cook up a custom mix of pasta and seafood and sauces. We asked him to make up whatever he'd like for us, and it was UNREAL. This was some of the best food we've eaten on vacation in Mexico and I fully plan to go back. The unlimited beer and our waters never went a moment unfilled (perhaps with more patrons this wouldn't be the case, but since we were the only ones we felt like absolute royalty). They also had a bowl of limes the ensured was filled, which was a nice touch for both the meals and our beers. The sun was down, so we couldn't see much of the beach ahead - but sitting by the edge of the dining room with the ocean waves and the wind made for a very romantic and enjoyable evening. I almost didn't want to leave! One other couple came while we were there and looked to be enjoying their meal and experience as well. It was mid week and must have been a very slow night, as after we left they started packing up and closing the restaurant. I really enjoyed all of Mazatlan, but I have to say this was one of my favourite parts. If you are looking for a great meal and overall experience at a very reasonable price I highly recommend Alagua! Thank you Alagua for a wonderful evening during our vacation!
