    Classic cheese
    Stephanie L.

If you're in Mooresville, NC, and craving authentic New York-style pizza, look no further than Tony's Pizza. During our two-week stay at a house on the lake, we tried their classic cheese pie--and it was so good, we went back for more! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, the cheese had that salty, gooey deliciousness you dream of, and the sauce was just the right balance of tangy and sweet. This place nails it. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area--this is legit New York-style pizza at its best!

Who likes a good ole lettuce sandwich?

Cannot say that I've ever had a worse customer service experience than the one with the person I spoke with a bit ago regarding an incorrect order. Below is a photo of the $18 lettuce sandwich I received instead of the Italian sub I ordered. Nothing but lettuce, onions, and mayo. How yummy!!! I hope no one else has encountered a similar experience only to be told "that's what the app does" even though I've ordered this exact same thing, the exact same way every time. How about perhaps an apology or an offer for a credit on our next order? Totally unacceptable and due to this, we will no longer frequent this establishment not because of the incorrect order but rather for the lack of caring for their (former) customer.

Talk about huge NY slices!! This is the spot to go! They have 15+ locations throughout NC... always a hit!! Love this place!!

This slice of pizza is waving hello to you.

I'm shocked Tony's doesn't have a higher rating. I'm here almost every day for a slice. The only place in the Lake Norman area that can compete with Tony's is Brooklyn South (not Brooklyn Boys). But that's pizza, not Italian food, which is a whole other conversation. For pizza, I highly recommend Tony's. The pizza is really good, the people are friendly, there is plenty of space, and the prices are fair. Not to mention the slices are ginormous. An easy recommendation.

    Cheese Pizza by the Slice

Only ordered a slice, so can't speak on getting a whole pie. The menu is huge, so tons of options. Pizza almost tastes like a mix between NY style and Napoli. Fantastic and quick service. Excited to come again. Be aware they offer cash discounts so make sure to bring cash!

Went to tony's pizza tonight and i picked up a slice The slice was completely burned and hard.

The quality of their food. The food was badly burn and extremely hard. There were hardly any customers there and was not busy. There was no reason to get the order wrong.

The sincerity is first of all good customer service, but what it is like to wait 30 minutes and when you get home and see how the pizza is horrible and black.

It took a bit for them to find us a table, but eventually we were seated. Most of the group ordered the chicken Alfredo, while I went with soup and salad. The soup of the day was Italian wedding, which sounded promising but arrived more like "Italian acquaintance." The broth was watery and pretty short on flavor. The salad followed: a very basic house salad with cheese and ranch on the side. The lettuce tasted like it had seen better days. I checked in with the fettuccine crowd and the overall consensus was "meh--it's fine." Nothing terrible, nothing memorable. Our waitress also seemed a bit... sharp. She had two large groups in her section, so I couldn't tell if it was stress, personality, or if we personally had done something wrong just by existing. Overall, not a disaster--but definitely not a lunch I'll be daydreaming about later.

I was seated facing the kitchen in a booth. I just loved the decor with the bricks, open kitchen, and warehouse ceiling. The wood, beams and bricks were reclaimed materials from Manhattan, adds old world charm. The Easter decorations were a nice touch. My amazing waitress created me a mocktail with ginger beer and cranberry. It was colorful and wonderful. It had some tang to it. The Italian restaurant has Neopolitan pizzas and Italian dishes. It was so hard deciding what to select from the menu. If I hadn't just had shrimp, the shrimp scampi would have been what I ordered. Then there was a lasagna with a bechamel sauce I really wanted. But the pizza won out. My waitress talked me into the salad I was debating, too. The salad was Dolce Crostata. It has mixed lettuce, goat cheese, pancetta, candied pecans and golden raisins. I like the salads with fruit, and this one was wonderful. Novanta means 90 in Italian, which is the 90 seconds it takes to cook the pizza. It goes into the 900-degree Italian wood-fired oven. The pizza was a true Neapolitan with the soft, airy crust and a little bit of char on it. It tasted as good as it looked. I wanted a second pizza after my first slice, but I had trouble finishing the first and had to take half of the salad to go. I did love every bite of the margherita pizza and salad. If I lived closer, I'd eat here weekly as the food is that good. This is a hidden gem.

This is a large restaurant with a great open layout, which makes it perfect for big groups and families. The outdoor seating area is especially nice, with comfortable chairs and a relaxed atmosphere where people can sit and enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. Inside, the place has a modern warehouse-style feel with brick, wood, and open kitchen views. You can actually see the pizza ovens working, which is always a good sign. The dining room has energy without feeling chaotic, and the sanitation rating posted up front was a solid A (96.0), which always gives you a little extra peace of mind. Our server Jessica was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. We started with the meatballs and burrata crostini. I couldn't eat the burrata because of the dairy, but the meatballs were outstanding--very meaty, rich flavor and a terrific tomato sauce. A great start to the meal. My wife had the house salad, which looked very fresh. Mixed greens, tomatoes, and peas--simple but well done. She skipped the onions, which they handled without any issue. For the main course, she ordered the Marinara pizza, and it was excellent. The sauce had great flavor and the pizza had that classic Neapolitan look--thin center, charred edges, and simple ingredients done right. She enjoyed the whole thing. I had the calzone and paired it with a local beer, "What He's Having" IPA from Wooden Robot Brewing in Charlotte, which was a great choice. The calzone itself tasted very good, but it was a little uneven on the filling. I ordered double pepperoni, and one side had most of it while the other side had very little. That said, the crust and flavor were still very enjoyable. Overall, everything was very good. The atmosphere is lively, the food is flavorful, and it's a great spot if you're dining with a group or family. Bottom line: Novanta is a fun, energetic Italian spot with solid Neapolitan-style pizza, a welcoming environment, and good service. Definitely worth a visit.
