Cannot say that I've ever had a worse customer service experience than the one with the person I spoke with a bit ago regarding an incorrect order. Below is a photo of the $18 lettuce sandwich I received instead of the Italian sub I ordered. Nothing but lettuce, onions, and mayo. How yummy!!! I hope no one else has encountered a similar experience only to be told "that's what the app does" even though I've ordered this exact same thing, the exact same way every time. How about perhaps an apology or an offer for a credit on our next order? My husband stopped to get us lunch. 2 cheesesteaks and an Italian hoagie. First of all it cost $55.00 which is expensive, and secondly none of the sandwiches were worth the price. I asked for pickles on my hoagie and was told they don't have any? What? Then they toasted it and I don't want it toasted, they didn't even ask. The hoagie consisted of 2 pieces of ham and 1 piece of salami and 1 slice of cheese that's it. My husband asked for ketchup on his cheesesteak and was told they can't do that! I'm shocked Tony's doesn't have a higher rating. I'm here almost every day for a slice. The only place in the Lake Norman area that can compete with Tony's is Brooklyn South (not Brooklyn Boys). But that's pizza, not Italian food, which is a whole other conversation. For pizza, I highly recommend Tony's. Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and Buffalo chicken wings for pickup and both were very good. I called close to closing but they were very nice when I asked if it's too for the pizza and wings. The wings were delivered with the sauce on the side so they arrived nice and crisp and a good size. For the local area this is probably the most authentic "New York" style pizza. They have a great selection of toppings and specialty pizzas. The wings are pretty, surprisingly, good as well. We've ordered online and in person and our orders are always spot on and ready on the quick. This is the best pizza joint in the local area we have found so far. read more

Tony's has been our go to pizza place. There have been inconsistencies over the past six months, mostly one time the pizza will be nice and thin and the next time it will be a little too thick. We usually get a pie with ham and sausage, and sometimes it has a lot of meat and sometimes it's so little I wonder why I paid for it. Even with these issues, the pizza still tasted good, and the family was happy. Last Saturday night was terrible. We ordered two pizza's to go, one with ham and sausage (to be well done) and the other plain. They reversed them, and the plain pizza for the kids was well done (actually too well done) and the ham and sausage pizza wasn't cooked enough. Both pizza's were over-sauced. The cheese stopped well short of the crust in many parts of both pizzas, leaving a lot of goopy sauce. Of course my young kids were turned off, and so were we. I understand it was Saturday night and the place was busy, but they still to have consistent quality control. If this was our first time going, we would not be back. Not sure what's going on there, but I feel like it is not as good as it was just six months ago. I hope they get things back to normal. I reached out to the company via email, but no response. We love this pizza ... have been coming here for several years. In fact, it's about a 30 minute drive from our house, so we purchased our own pizza delivery bag to keep it warm. It's been a while since we ordered, maybe close to a year. We ordered a pizza on Monday, while good, the sauce tasted different, it didn't have the flavor we were looking forward. I tried Tony's for the first time on Tuesday and got a 15in pizza with extra sauce and a side of garlic knots delivered through DoorDash and I really enjoyed that meal. I ordered a second time today through DoorDash and the pizza was undercooked, so much so that the sauce and cheese were all falling off. DoorDash only refunded me 5$. Honestly, it was okay. Being okay isn't bad and sometimes I think giving three stars is perceived that it's not worth it, but I don't think that's true. We ordered garlic knots, a small pizza, and a sub. The garlic knots were definitely garlic-y, which I love. The marinara that it came with didn't really have a ton of flavor which kind of bummed me out and honestly leads me mostly to my three star review. The pizza has the same sauce on it... which leads to a somewhat flavorless pizza. Keep in mind though, I loved the thin crust - definitely think there's a time and place for that - I'm not biased either way. I only got pineapple on my pizza (yes I'm that person) so while the toppings I picked could have led to the less than flavorful pizza, I prefer one with a flavorful sauce as a base. Again, not amazing, but not bad. And I imagine pretty consistent. There were a ton of people in there and they all ordered giant pizzas so there's clearly an audience for it. My boyfriend ordered the sausage, onion, and pepper sub and said the only thing it was missing was either a sauce or some cheese. I did go back up and ask for honey mustard and he said he'd definitely order it again with some dressing. The staff were super nice so no complaints there! read more

I would have gave Tony's Pizza a full 5 stars if it wasn't for the girl cashier who's always giving an attitude at the register. Anyways, I enjoy their pizza! It comes out hot and the bottom of the slice has that crunchy texture with it and also that good (but not healthy) grease dripping down from the pizza slice! Now that's what makes a great slice! I'm from NJ and know what real Italian pizza tastes like and this pizza is spot on. Every time I'm visiting mooresville I always have to visit Tony's at least for a slice.
