They're crinkle cut and made right. I was tempted to get another order to go. We also ordered the chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and pepperoni pizza. I've never been a big fan of pepperoni pizza in general, so having just read another Yelp review where someone said the sauce was not good, I prepared myself for possible disappointment. However, this was not the case. Even my husband's first comment was how good the sauce was. The crust was crisp and the ratio of cheese and pepperoni lead to an overall satisfying pizza. The chicken tenders were also very delicious. I must say though, what really stood out is how friendly the staff is. I'd like to use the word disgusting, but that betrays the extent to which my words can convey how disappointing this experience was for me, and the detailed feedback I hope this business can benefit from. It's just Pizza. The range of Not terrible to Amazing isn't too large, but this was Terrible. I think they made the pizza last week and warmed it this morning. The cheese was incredibly dry, the bread was hard, looked old, and tasted stale. The pizza smelled old like it just came out of the microwave after spending a couple nights on the table a college dormitory. You could see that the pepperoni was warmed up and sprinkle on top of the cheese pizza way after it was done. It just rolled off each slice as you picked it up. The chicken was awful, the bones were really dark and the skin was shriveled up. Just look at the picture. This place might make decent food but I could bare finish a pizza slice or a chicken wing, and neither could me friends who were starving and looking forward to lunch. I don't know what y'all do over there but please please prepare this right. Chicken should not look abnormal and and taste suspicious. Pizza should definitely not feel like cardboard. And a customer should not feel like they wasted time and money. read more

While the pizza here was done in a relatively quick manner compared to other places I've done pick up at, I cant say that I'll go out of my way to have pizza here again. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because of how nice the people who work here are and the timing of ordering and picking up compared to other places. Other than that, I wasnt too fond of here. The pizza itself was just meh. I usually don't put salt in my pizza but it needed it in my opinion. My father in law considers it one step above frozen pizza. I didnt care for the sauce they use but i wasn't gonna complain because it was good and I was hungry, plus it wasn't my choice to order from here so I felt like i didn't have much reason to complain. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and as they have recently re-opened, for many patrons it was like a homecoming. They are greeted with a "How have you been? It's great to see you!" We ordered pizza, meatball sandwich, spinach pies, and everything was very tasty and delicious. Just one piece of advice: when you get your pizza, wait a few minutes because if the cheese is too hot you might get "pizza palate". That is the actual term for when you burn the tender palatal mucosa of the roof of your mouth behind your front teeth. If you get pizza palate, the food is still delicious but much of the enjoyment is lost. So do yourself a favor and wait a good three or more minutes before taking that first bite! read more

I gave this place 3 stars for a few reasons that will balance each other out. 1. The pizza. It was amazing back in the day, but has slowly declined through the years due to how cheap the owner can be. We went there yesterday for the thousandth time and it was really below par. Barely any cheese, and almost bland. 2. The sandwiches (for all you Rhode Islanders - Grindahs) now here is where i would have given them 5 stars. Literally one of the best Tuna's you will ever have in your life. I will guarantee that. The chicken parm will get 4 stars from me but its still a good sandwich. I havent had a steak from there in a while but the last time I did it was excellent. 3. The restaurant and staff. The staff is friendly and will talk to you like you have known them for years. Relaxed atmosphere. It doesnt look the cleanest but compared to other places in the area its just fine. Now here are a few things that really got me upset. You wont see any prices on the big signs above the register. All you see is what he has and decimal points. So it makes it seem like he will charge anything he feels like. The only prices you see are on this togo menu taped to the register that you will only see if you look really hard. Here is one of the biggest no-no's. We went there a while ago and bought a 2-liter of soda from there. The guy was too cheap to give us cups to drink the soda we just bought there. That was aggravating. But overall decent pizza, great sandwiches, and nice place to grab something with the guys. read more

I used to live on Chestnut ave...the last time i ate at Tonys was Dec., 1978, when Star market was still there, and Cumberland farms was still on the corner of Pontiac and Chestnut. I went to Park View....yeah, long time ago, but guess what? Thats whats great about going home after so many years! In these decades, i gave literally traveled half the world, but going back to Cranston, to show my 20 year old son where i used to live, one of the first places that came to mind was my beloved old pizzeria, where i used to spend the money my dad gave me for groceries! LOL! He taught at R.I.C, and would often get home late, after doing pm classes, but would leave me money and instructions on what to go get at Star market, but i, if course, would just go to Tonys instead! Yesterday, walking in there with my now adult son, oh man, the fragrance! The minute i opened the door to go in, there it was, that awesome, cheesy, wonderful pizza-y smell that i remembered so very well! Of course i ordered my Tonys favorite....laahge italian grindah, works, hot...so did my son. He us six ft. Three, a giant, he scarfed that thing down in five minutes and loved it! I couldn't even finish mine, again, because just like back in a day, the thing was stuffed full of meats, cheese, hot peppers....omg, sensory paradise! Perhaps there are newer, chicer places to go that dont have orange benches from the seventies, or classier places with fashionably tiny portions, but there is no BETTER place in the world for me, than my beloved Tonys, and my son made me promise him that for HlS birthday, in june, his 21st, i would take him back to Tonys.... I sure will son, and another generation can sit on orange benches, smell the wonderful smells, and chomp down on that awesome, giant grindah! Great owner! I am from Jersey, and I have great Pizza down the block from me, but this place, Tony's, really was a diamond in the rough. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but on the inside we have a great guy and his wife who have been making pizza the same way (in the same pizza trays!) for years.
