Ah Tony's, what is there to say? I've been coming here since I was kid in the 70's and it has a long-storied tradition in the Pittston Area. But it seems like ever since the original owner sold the business a while back, the culinary experience is hit or miss. From teenagers running the place and preparing your food, the front personnel having minimal customer service skills, even if you do manage to get a good takeout pizza, it's often negated by other factors. I have to think that this is poor management and oversight, but I don't go there nearly as much as I used to. It's simply too unpredictable and that's a shame. The last time I got a small Red and White Pizza that were both dried out and cost about $27. You're basically rolling the dice that you'll have an enjoyable experience. read more

If I could choose zero stars, I would. Have been a customer here for my life and had the most horrible experience! I placed a phone order, and my husband went to pick it up after the hour wait time. When he got there he was told they never got the order and pretty much blamed us - that maybe we called another Tony's. I sent a screenshot to my husband to show them I called them an hour earlier. They didn't care. They put another order in for him, and he would have to wait. No, "I'm sorry. That's our error. We're super busy and it fell through the cracks, here's $5.00 off for your trouble." Nothing but angst and blaming us. Sad. While he waited, I called to speak to the owner. I got a snarky woman who told me he was busy. I asked when he wouldn't be busy, and she said she didn't know (again, rude and unprofessional). I asked for her name and said goodbye. I was polite on the phone. I don't care how busy you are, the customer gets spoken to with kindness and respect. (I was in the hospitality field for years.) I am not sure if it was the same woman but a woman told my husband in a very snarky, unprofessional and sassy voice, "Your wife is a delight and you can tell her I said that." What????? Who does that in a business or anywhere for that matter? He told me what she said, and I told him to cancel the order and get the money back. The woman, again, was sassy and snarky to him. My husband said something about business practices and she said something off-color again to him. What a horrible experience just to get some pizza! We got bullied and mistreated by an employee of this restaurant for something that was NEVER our fault! We will never go there again. Beware. read more

This is definitely the type of place where you stick to the pizza. I called to place an order for pick up and the woman was very unfriendly, but I figured it was just because it was a busy Friday night so I shrugged it off. The Italian subs are all bread and no meat. The only good thing about it was that the bread was indeed fresh. The hot chicken bites were dry and nothing to write home about. When I picked up the food I was surprised to see it wasn't even busy in a Friday. Definitely better places in the area to get dinner. read more

On Good Friday I decided to buy a pizza because I don't eat meat on this day. I had a coupon for Tony's pizza for 1 large pizza and 12 buffalo wings. The cashier went to the guy that was making the pizza and whispered something to him.I watched him make the pizza's . One was made different from the rest. He smashed the pizza on the table , then spinned it . He than put sauce on the pizza from a plastic container, than the mozzarella cheese was put on the pizza. He put something in his hand ans springled a large amount on the pizza. He also plopped a large amount of mozzarella cheese ans smashed it using his palm of his hand to smashed it down using the palm of his hand.When the pizza was ready it was already box along with my wings. The wings and the pizza was so salty I was unable to eat it. The guy told the manager when I called the next day that I had threaten him. That was not true. Both managers were very disrespectful. she told me I could not bring the wings and pizza back after it was in my home. I paid $12.15 and couldn't eat the food. I tried to call the owner but their said Tommy don't come to eighter shop.That amount of salt can harm someone. Bad read more

I have came here a couple of times over the past few years and always loved it. I hadn't come back in a while and I was disappointed. I'm pretty sure it's no longer family run and got sold to someone else. The pizza was still good and the salad was good, gnocchi not so much. What a fabulous place to eat and drink! The service is great and it is a place you feel like home at when you head down to the Wine Cellar below. I am not sure what they put in their pizza sauce to make it so amazing....but they will not tell me, as it's a family recipe. ‍ The dough for the crust is made fresh every day, and do not forget to try their white pizza. Being a pizza fanatic who has lived in both NEPA and NYC, I have to say that NEPA more than hold's it's own when it comes to one of a kind pizza joints. Tony's is a perfect example of this. The pies here are round, slightly smaller than NY style, and the sauce is... well, like no other sauce in the world. There are no Tony's pizza clones, because the sauce recipe is, of course, a secret and cannot be replicated-- not even by alien civilizations that are far more advanced than our own. Warning: the pizza is served HOT. If you eat it without first allowing it to cool you will sear the roof of your mouth, and loose strings of mouth-roof-flesh will fall into and intermingle with the cheese, sauce crust, and saliva. This is an update to a review I posted for this place about 3 years ago. The pizza: still delicious. The soups: still delicious The other foods: still delicious. This little place is also spotlessly clean. But............apparently 3 years later they still have staff issues. The young girl taking the phone orders and working the pick up counter was snippy, rude & condescending to some of the customers. While sitting waiting for my pizza I heard this young girl talk snidely about almost every customer as they walked out. She had a derogatory comment about almost every customer. And apparently whoever was in charge just let her get away with it. Tony's, I love your food & have for years. But some of your staff is way out of line with your customers. Honestly , there are other places with delicious food as well & as much as I love your place I would rather go someplace else than listen to a snippy young girl either berating & embarrassing your customers or badmouthing them as they leave. Yummy pizza in a cozy atmosphere. I like the downstairs bar/ wine cellar. it's spacious and has plenty of seating with a pool table. T he service was really friendly and prompt and the food was delicious. I appreciated the fact that they were serving late on a Saturday. After bar hopping, I was hungry around midnight. Tony's was open and still taking food orders when I called right before 12AM. I ordered a large pie that was half regular and half "Tony's special" - a white pizza with some sauce, garlic, and fresh sliced tomatoes. I liked both but the regular pizza was my favorite. I always like pizza with a lot of sauce. The crust remained crispy and easily held up to all of the toppings. The size of the pizza is more petite than some, but it's filling nonetheless. I will totally visit again next time I return to NE PA to visit family. read more

This was always a popular spot to go on a Friday night after a PA football game. Since then, I've graduated onto the big kids part of Tony's, which would be the downstairs wine bar. The pizza is one of the best options in the Pittston area, but I can't comment on most of the other food! The Wine Bar was a great addition and I've gone here to watch some games on Saturdays, although I haven't been here in quite a while after moving to Philly, which has only made me miss NEPA pizza even more! read more

Born and raised in PIttston, this is by far the best pizza going. Outshines "old forge" pizza by miles. The sauce, as another reviewer noted, is a thing of beauty, and that molten cheese in the best thing going. wonderful, thin pizza -- You will not be disappointed. I keep hearing how good the pizza is here so I order a large with sausage. I was really looking forward to enjoying a good pizza. Then I got home and tried a piece. The pizza might be OK but the sausage is horrible ! It ruined the whole pie. I forced myself to eat a piece because I payed $13.00 for a disgusting pizza I am feeding to my dog. I will give the cheese pizza one more try. If it isn't good, I'll never have to worry about getting another bad pizza from Tony's. read more

Wife was there tonite in bar and ordered pizza always good and her brother ordered wings which didn't come to table for 20 mins after pizza service was horrible, she had ordered a tuna salad for me as I was coming off a 12 hour shift and wanted something lite. Well after trying to figure out the huge carrots and cucumber pieces and the iceberg lettuce(supposedly romaine) I came across a nice long hair. This place has gone down hill pizza is still ok but I feel very let down and will put this place way down on my list of clean places to go. read more

Went to the "wine cellar" for a glass of red and some Sicilian pizza. The bottle of wine that was poured for me was clearly open for way too long-- it was on the turn and tasted of vinegar. The pizza was cooked in oil that was very, very old. It overpowered the smell and taste of it to the point where it was not at all enjoyable, let alone edible. I did not send the wine or pizza back, though I should have. I only give two stars because their round pies that I have ordered for takeout on occasion are usually average. Be aware that the large pies are actually a medium size. This bar is more of a buffalo bite and Miller Lite kind of place, definitely not a place for a decent glass of wine. Please change the oil that you use for cooking your Sicilian pizza! read more

Where can I begin... Ordered pizza and was told 20 minutes. Showed up and gave my name. They took my order wrong and was told I can wait another half hour for a new pizza. I said no I'll just take my pizza and fries. Didn't get my pizza until roughly an hour after the order was placed. All I got was an apology and an excuse. Get home and their "large" pie is barely a medium if you could call it that. Tasted like it was from a do it yourself kit from the dollar store. No idea how this place has a good rating... Awful service. Last 2 times we ordered from there they somehow forgot to put our order in. Each time we had to wait the extra half hr while they made it. Their terrible excuse was hey at least its fresh now! And when we opened our pizza box it looked like a bomb went off. Cheese all over the box. Totally unedible. read more

Traveling on I-81 north from Virginia to New York our children wanted pizza. Yelp recommend Tonys Pizza. It was a little off the beaten path, but it was satisfying to two picky eaters. The homemade crust was perfectly thin and tasted great. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area of Exit 175 off of I-81. read more

Love the pizza here; done just right. Pies are a little smaller than expected, but the taste makes up for it.

This is definitely one of the three best pizza places in northeast Pennsylvania. The service is not the best, but it's okay. The pizza is smaller than your normal "large", 14" instead of 16"; oh and by the way it's over $11 which is higher than most places. read more
