Another amazing meal hosted by this place! Bartender Hailey was excellent and Chef James absolutely killed it!

I've been wanting to try this place so I finally took my daughter there Memorial Day 2023. Open the front door, walk through the bar and you're in the charming little restaurant. We sat at a table in a little nook because it felt cozy there. The waitress took our order with a smile. She was friendly and helpful, obviously been a waitress for a long time. Our Philly cheese steak sandwiches with au jou on the side were delicious. We're so glad to have finally tried Tony's. We'll be back with more friends next time.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon from Elk Grove after being stuck in the house on a stormy Saturday. We walked through the bar and had our choice of any seat in the restaurant. The walls were adorned with old school pictures from the 50s of baseball memorabilia of Wrigley Park and other Sacramento landmarks. There were plenty of Mooseheads as well We were greeted by a super friendly male server who gave us recommendations on our entrees. He did advise us they are a cash only establishment. The bank nearby had a working ATM machine which we utilized. We decided on the bacon cheeseburger & the turkey BLT with a side salad , fries and onion rings. We ordered a bloody Mary & Irish coffee . Let's just say we drank every drop of our strong perfectly crafted drinks & every bite of our delicious food. The onion rings are to die for! We will definitely be back for drinks and some more delicious food !

    Ribeye steak potato and veggies.

Walking into the bar and grill, you can see the many dollars tacked onto the ceiling and the nostalgic background behind the bar of days gone by, which usually plays host to local farmers, boaters, and tourists in the area. My sister and I decided to take a scenic drive along the Sacramento River and recalled our dad's stories of hanging out at Al's after a day of fishing the river and how the place really "hit the spot!" We pulled up and parked on the narrow little street and walked into this well-known place with the smell of garlic French bread wafting into the air and locals sitting at the bar. We were taken into a small back dining area and given the menu. I ordered the infamous steak sandwich, while my sister ordered the Al's burger, and my husband ordered the fish tacos. The plates were quickly brought out to us and were very generous portions. The steak sandwich was so tasty and big, I was only able to eat about a fourth of it along with the delicious onion rings that came with it. My husband demolished the 3 fish tacos and french fries, and my sister managed to eat about half of her burger. We will definitely be back.

I hate to say it, but that was a mistake. Not the drive down the Delta, but stopping here.. As other people have mentioned, it's a cool space with lots of character. I Head into the dining room, and they were pretty busy. I was kind of surprised, as it was a Wednesday. If they are this busy at lunchtime on a Wednesday, I can imagine what they are like on the weekend. I waited a few minutes to sit down, and then finally I walked over and asked the server if I could just sit anywhere. She said yes, I could. She came over to my table to give me my menu, asked what I wanted to drink, and brought it right back. She said she would be right back to take my order, it was about 10 minutes. It only goes downhill from here.... So she comes and takes my order. I ordered an appetizer of the grilled bread with marmalade and peanut butter, and for my lunch, I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese. She said, "I will bring you your appetizer first." So I wait, and I wait, and I wait... As I mentioned, there was a good number of people in the dining room, and there were also people ordering food while sitting in the the barroom. . She was the only one serving, and it looked like there was only one, possibly two people cooking. 30 minutes in, I don't even have my appetizer yet. I waved her down and asked her, and she said it will be soon, there's still a few people ahead of me waiting for their food. As I was watching, I noticed that food was coming out of the kitchen pretty slowly. 45 minutes in... Still, not even an appetizer. I was going to wait a few more minutes, but then I noticed something. I was watching the server. She was not only bringing food, she was handling money I watched her scratch her head, wipe her face with her hand, and then she even scratched her behind, although through her shorts that she was wearing. They were jeans, shorts, and to me, they seemed pretty short for working in a restaurant That was enough for me, I left. I decided to go back home via the other side of the river. I crossed over, and almost immediately found a bar and grill, where I decided to stop for lunch. The service was stellar, and the food was amazing. The prices were also very good. Sorry, Al, I'm not going to wait for number three. Two strikes, and you're out.

The place is very well done. Not a fancy place, but it does look a bit upscale. The bar looked very nice, and they have both indoor and patio seating. I'm seated right away, and my server brings me a menu. The menu is Chinese, but very high-quality Chinese. Off the specials menu, I decided to order the cherry pork. I also ordered a cup of egg drop soup, and some steamed rice to go with the pork. The soup comes very quickly. I love a good egg drop soup, and this was extremely good. The flavor was amazing. It had some tender chicken in it, it had a little bit of mushroom in it, and it also had small pieces of tofu. Tofu takes the flavor of what it is being cooked in, and that was definitely the case here She brings the cherry pork, and oh my God, the serving was huge. That was easily a shareable portion. The pork was crunchy, not over breaded,, and tender, and tasty on the inside. The cherry sauce was savory, and just a little bit sweet, and there were actually real cherries, big ones, in the sauce as well. The cherries were not overly sweet, and the flavor played extremely well with the rest of the Dish. The rice was done perfectly, and went well with the pork. I barely made it through half the Dish, and I had enough left over for two more meals. The price was a little bit on the high-end, but hey, this is the delta. Plus, for the quality, and especially the quantity of the food, it was definitely worth it. I want to come back. Thanks!

I am extremely disappointed with the service we experienced on Tuesday evening around 6:30 pm. My husband and I were the first customers to arrive, yet we still had to wait about five minutes to be seated while the manager was sitting near the entrance. The server/bartender also appeared to be on break, sitting with the manager at the time doing paperwork. We placed our order promptly and received our drinks quickly. Shortly after, three other tables were seated and also placed their orders. Since we were the first guests and the restaurant was not busy, we naturally expected our food to arrive in a timely manner. To our surprise, every table that arrived after us was served their meals while we continued to wait. We politely asked about our appetizer and were told the server would check on it. After another 15 minutes passed, there was still no update, apology, or explanation. In total, we waited 45 minutes with no appetizer, no food, and not even a check-back to see if we needed drink refills. We felt completely overlooked. Eventually, we got up and went to the server to close out our tab. Once again, there was no explanation and no attempt to resolve the situation. We were simply charged for our drinks and left, deciding to dine at another restaurant few doors down. We were really hoping this would become a cute go-to spot for a nice meal since the menu looked very appealing. Unfortunately, the lack of basic customer service and communication made for a very frustrating experience. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their service.
