Loooong time customers. Went in today, after not being in since mid November. Change cooks??? Our favorite is the Philly, not even close to the usual. Less cheese, barely any grilled onions or peppers and the roll was way too big. Why the change???? Newer bartender? The stress and the energy she gave off was unreal. It wasn't even busy. We got there at 2:30. Will be back because it is a favorite boat ride destination, but thought they should be made aware. read more

Wandered in after a visit to nearby town of Locke. Stepping inside, the first thing you see is the bar, which made me think it wasn't going to be a welcoming place for my son and I to eat. GLAD I WAS WRONG! We found a table in the back room where we were served by the nicest server. She was able to help us with some food recommendations and quickly delivered Tony's beans to the table. My son quickly commandeered the entire bowl and our server found him licking it clean once it was empty. To our surprise, the cook sent out another serving for him, which he also devoured. I had the patty melt on sourdough, my dad had the philly, and kiddo ordered fish from the kids menu (but filled up on the beans :D). The food was delicious and the experience was made better by the server and cook, who seemed to truly enjoy serving delicious food with a smile. Why haven't I discovered this restaurant until now!?!! I guess it's better late than never! As you can see I'm very happy with this place! We came here for lunch to celebrate my father's birthday and everyone loved it. Each meal was loved by the person who ordered it and by the people who sampled it. My father, sister and niece ordered a steak sandwich. This looked amazing and was the loved by them. My uncle ordered a linguica sandwich and he and my father shared sandwiches. They were smart to do that so they can satisfy their tastebuds with 2 great flavors. My nephew ordered a hamburger. The size of this patty was huge and the meat flavor was fresh and definitely of good quality. My brother in law got a cheesesteak and I got a French dip. The meat on our sandwiches was so tender and melted in our mouth! The meat had no gristle and again of good quality. As a side to our sandwiches some of us chose Portuguese beans which I loved. I want to go back and order this to go one day because I can imagine eating cornbread with it at home while relaxing on a rainy day. Others ordered onion rings which were hand dipped and crispy wonderful rings of pleasure! We also had fried pickles. This isn't something I would ever think about ordering, however from this place I definitely would order again. They must have been hand dipped also. They were so good and addicting. The service here was the best I've experienced in a long time. We all enjoyed our waitress and hope to have her again when we return. (Because we all decided this would be a place we frequent often!) The prices were good. A bit more than a usual sandwich/lunch place but you get what you pay for and we were happy to pay what we did for our meal. I'm not sure what the dinner menu is like. I am looking forward to returning for dinner. It's got to be amazing if our lunch was so good. We will be back for our next family celebration! I will be back before that though. Quite surprised, came by for lunch on Sunday and ordered the cheesesteak sandwich with fries and the meat was quite delicious and the fries were great. Crisp on the outside and perfectly done. For $18 can't beat it ! read more

We came here for the first time on Father's Day. We were told that the Ribeye steaks were sold out so my wife and I ordered New York strip steaks. Somehow I lucked out and received a very large ribeye steak. It was the best steak I have ever had. I almost always order a ribeye or New York steak every time I go to a restaurant, so I know what I'm talking about. We will be back! This place is great! read more

So Tonys has been a staple for years but seems like things have changed. Prices went up which I understand but the $40 steak was thin! It was much more like a breakfast steak than a $40 dinner steak. The service was amazing! The young lady (looked to be American Indian) was busy but she did a great job! Its not easy to be the only server and have every table full but she was a real pro. The Portugue beans were as always superb. I saw some burgers being served to other tables and I will definitely come back to try their burger. All in all Im hoping it was a fluke and they just cut the steaks a little thinner than usual? Gonna have to go back for the great service and that burger and who knows, maybe the steaks will get back to Tony's normal thick cut steaks? I sure hope so. read more

OMG! Run don't walk to this place. If you're a French dip lover. The roll is so fresh and soft. The shaved rib steak melts in your mouth. The au jus is very flavorful without being salty or greasy. This was my Wife and I's second visit to Tony's this year. Our first back in May was a wonderful experience. Great bar and excellent meal. Just recently we were in Lodi for the street faire and came to Tony's that night. The Bartender was telling us that there had been an ownership change. When we sat down to eat dinner, they were short of wait staff so the evening Bartender did double duty and she was great. However, with virtually nobody in the dinning room but us our two steaks took forever to come out and both arrived well overcooked. We were very hungry by that time and didn't complain but were not very happy with the meal. If you're going to charge $40+ for a steak dinner you'd better have someone cooking who knows how treat steak. It will be some time before we return. read more

I've been wanting to try this place so I finally took my daughter there Memorial Day 2023. Open the front door, walk through the bar and you're in the charming little restaurant. We sat at a table in a little nook because it felt cozy there. The waitress took our order with a smile. She was friendly and helpful, obviously been a waitress for a long time. Our Philly cheese steak sandwiches with au jou on the side were delicious. We're so glad to have finally tried Tony's. We'll be back with more friends next time. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon from Elk Grove after being stuck in the house on a stormy Saturday. We walked through the bar and had our choice of any seat in the restaurant. The walls were adorned with old school pictures from the 50s of baseball memorabilia of Wrigley Park and other Sacramento landmarks. There were plenty of Mooseheads as well We were greeted by a super friendly male server who gave us recommendations on our entrees. He did advise us they are a cash only establishment. The bank nearby had a working ATM machine which we utilized. We decided on the bacon cheeseburger & the turkey BLT with a side salad , fries and onion rings. We ordered a bloody Mary & Irish coffee . Let's just say we drank every drop of our strong perfectly crafted drinks & every bite of our delicious food. The onion rings are to die for! We were visiting few friends in Isleton, we decided to get dinner at Tony's. Eight of us arrived at 5:30 with a reservation. The place quickly filled up so the service was slow, but we saw that the waitresses were running around as fast as they could and the cook was busy. Food was comfort food. Lots of steaks, potatoes and chicken parmesan. I ordered their New York Steak Salad with blue cheese dressing on the side. I got it medium and it was perfect! We also got fries, calamari and onion rings for appetizers. All great! They had a full bar, so few of us enjoyed beers and Lemon drop martinis. read more

Went back for lunch. Even better than dinner. Went with a group of four. Two of us had the steak sandwich. I had the French dip and my wife had the cheeseburger. Everything cooked perfectly to our tastes. Two sides come with the lunches. So we had salads with Tony's original dressing as well as onion rings French fries and beans. Everything so yummy . Been here before, but some things have changed fro the better. We were a very large crowd for lunch and they took good care of us. No complaints about the food and the service was spot on. My oriental chicken salad was very good and the dressings were excellent, the onion rings were large and hot and plenty! V had a mushroom burger with fries, tasty but a little too medium for someone who like rare - med rare. The Portuguese beans were good, especially with the added pepper sauce. What a true hidden gem! We went in Saturday evening and it was a packed house. We were seated quickly and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken Parm. OMG! We are so glad we ventured out and tried this place out. Upon entering the wonderful feel of cold ac hits you. Nothing is worse then a hot restaurant. We were greeted immediately and given a table. This place is spotless, I mean super clean. The restroom was stocked and clean! They served lunch and I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and hubby had steak sandwich. We both got their Portuguese beans . The entrees come with two sides so we did potato salad and fries which were both handmade and fresh. We received our food quickly and it disappeared quickly too!! OMG I we had dinner at Tony's tonight and it was so good! We haven't been in several years even though we live in Walnut Grove. Went tonight, had the Steak with mushrooms and onions. I ordered it medium rare + (between medium and medium rare, depending on the chef) and it came out perfect! Definitely prime meat used here now, delicious! I got the famous beans, and almost missed Tony coming over to put Pepper sauce in them and kiss my cheek, but not quite! Our server, Brandy, was fabulous, professional, pleasant and friendly, even though the place was jammed! Great prices too, you have to check this out! Oh, the broccoli side was cooked perfectly, baked potato succulent, and the salad had the freshest lettuce I have had outside in awhile, I do appreciate that!
