Cupcakes and donuts from Too Sweet Cakes. I added toppers and purchased the cake stand from amazon

This is my third time ordering for a kiddos birthday party. Each time, our guests rave about how delicious the treats are and how their treats are not too sweet. I love the simplicity of being able to order & pay online which makes pickup a breeze. The staff I've interacted with are super friendly and kind. Will continue to use this bakery for our special occasions.

Cupcakes were pretty but tasted old and dry. One of the frosting tasted like cough syrup. First time and last time we buy here.

The maple croissant donut is Fa-Bu-Lous! This donut is crazy good, maple, maple, maple! (I love maple) Crunchy, yet soft and did I mention maple? The cookie sandwiches (this is my kind of cookie), two cookies with butter cream frosting filling. Beautiful and colorful macarons. Lots of flavor combos for all of their donuts, cookie sandwiches and macarons. The artistry of their baked goods is unparalleled. They have both sweet and savory treats. I have bought their items in town at various coffee shops and quite a few times in their store as gifts for friends and co-worker's. AND I keep sneaking back for more maple donuts. They fell a little short on a custom birthday cake order for my daughter. I reached out to them on Instagram, they asked me to email them. I emailed them within 15 minutes of the request and then crickets. Four days of crickets and then an email the day before the requested pick-up date to let me know the cake would be ready. So, not optimal, but it worked out. And the cake was excellent - most excellent.

I ordered the doubled chocolate cake and a lovely doughnut. I decided to place it on top of the cake to add some pop of color. My son LOVED the doughnut. Cake 4 The cake was too sweet even for my 13 year old son. Customer service 5 . Customer service was 5 stars. I will be buying here again. Just different flavored cake. Such a lovely and beautiful and friendly shop!

    Wonderful strawberry doughnut.

We stopped in to get some sweet treats and were very pleased. We got the neopolotin cupcake, chocolate chip cookie, macaroon flavor lemon and cookie dough, and a strawberry doughnut. The doughnut was by far the best of the selection. It was flakey and the flavor was soooo good. The macroons were ok. They were very crumbly and not a lot of flavor. The cupcake and cookie were also very delicious. We will keep this place in mind for future visits! Get that doughnut for sure!

We love too sweet cakes. We go there at least every other week for a macaroon (or a dozen) and always order birthday or special event cakes through them. We actually first had their delicious macaroons at bite of bend back in 2018 and have been a devoted follower ever since! My littles are always asking to go get doughnuts and cupcakes from there as well. Definitely always recommending this place to friends!

    Vegan Blueberry muffin. Very sweet.

After eight years, Crux is overdue for a review update. Biggest reason is that quite a few years…read moreago they expanded the place significantly, opening up the large room to the right of the bar that opens into the outdoor area. That room is equipped with restrooms, relieving one of my major complaints about a lack of facilities, as well as a second serving station complete with taps. Since then, Crux has significantly changed the outdoor area as well although I'm not certain it's an upgrade. It's a little too landscaped and way too much like a playground now. Locals have always tended to refer to Crux as 'daycare but with beer.' The last several times I've come here, the second serving station has not been in operation even though it looks to be still fully functional. Meanwhile the line to the bar serving stations is often long, sometimes almost out the door. Not sure why that is, doesn't make sense to have the capacity to more efficiently serve customers but not use it. All that said, the beer is still stellar and they continue to have a wide range of beer choices, the new(ish) large room has plentiful high-top seating (mobility challenged folks will need to venture outside), and the music is kept below ear-splitting volume. You can also sit at the bar itself although the vibe there isn't great - it's not like a neighborhood pub bar. Crux still has a kitchen. I used to order directly from them but have since transitioned to patronizing one of the several food carts outside. Being food carts, they tend to come and go so I'll not go into detail there. That said, the new Alpine Smash burger is fabulous. The other significant change in recent years has been with the location. A dispute with the property owners to the west resulted in the access road that way being closed, requiring Crux patrons to use the road coming from Second/Scott Street (or ride a bike). The west road is now open, maybe because the Jackstraw housing complex over that way is now completed and the road serves their tenants. RIP Spoken Moto.

You can also customize your meal as needed. To order, you stand in line like at a food court counter, but in a fancy way. While we were there, the line stretched to the door most of the time but it moves fast. This is the time you use to choose your bottle of wine, pick food, and browse the pastries on display. There were several places to sit indoors and out after placing the order. The kids hade the garlic bites (fried balls of bread with garlic and cheese...looked like doughnut holes!) and a pizza. They can add pepperoni to a cheese pizza for the particular children in your life. My husband and I shared a Cobb salad, no croutons to make it gf (the lemon dill dressing was AMAZING! Actually, this whole salad was very good). We also intended to share the NY strip with chimichurri. However, we didn't read that it comes with bread and a side salad (great!) and roasted vegetables in romesco sauce (also great!). My husband is allergic to nuts and so he couldn't eat any. That is not a complaint...all on us! The menu is clearly marked. But be aware if you have a nut allergy to specify that you can't have the romesco sauce. Or let the order taker know, as they are informed on modifications and whatnot. So he ate the salad and done pizza. I ate most of the steak and veggies. Everything tasted really good. The steak was a bit gristly. But the chimichurri was great. My absolute favorite thing was the elote cake with tajin buttercream. It was not a sweet cake. But it was heavenly. I should have grabbed another piece before we left. It was creative and salty and delicious and I still want it two days later. Service was great. Food is brought out as it's ready, not all at once. And the side salad and bread is brought before the main dish. The people were friendly and helpful. This was a great place and I would definitely go back.
