I had the Teriyaki Chicken pizza and the wife had the Tuscan Sun pizza. Both pies had very generous amounts of cheese and toppings. There was actually twice as much cheese as I would have liked. The last pizza we had delivered was covered with either fake or inferior mozzarella and was very dry. Cheese was so rubbery, it barely melted in a 400 degree oven. While we do like many of the dishes they serve, like the eggplant and the chicken vegetable soup, the pizza has gone downhill pretty dramatically. Until the pizza quality goes back to what it once was under the previous owner, that will not be on our list to order. read more

Really good local pizza place that, so far anyway, has delivered pretty consistently good pies. A lot of places around here are fair weather and some days they are good and some they are not which is super frustrating. Toozy's was one we tried awhile ago and for some reason didn't go back until a few months ago but are glad we did. They have a big menu with pretty much any pizza type you can imagine. The pizza itself shows up hot and aside from a bit more flop to the crust then I'd like it's really good. Price wise they are pretty standard not way over the top but not the cheapest either. Ordered a personal 12 inch buffalo chicken pizza which is already pricey at 24 dollars and was charged an additional 1.25 for bleu cheese dressing side. A salad which is cheaper you get that included. I just think its a poor look to charge for a dressing side when you are charging so much for your pies. read more

I was on my way to the Canadian Atlantic Provinces (NB, NS, NL, QC & PEI) via Maine and along the way I visited some museums. I ended up stopping for lunch at Toozy Patza Pizzeria on the 7th of June, 2024. It was probably the best slice of pizza I've ever had!! It was so good I was trying to figure out if I could take whole medium pizza to go. Unfortunately, this was not possible as I was on a motorcycle an this was just Day 2 of what turned out to be a 29-day motorcycle ride. So it's Halloween and I'm driving up to Connecticut, for a pumpkin carving party. I get a call....can you bring pizza for 6 people??? Ok so I text, where should I go? No response. So I go to my trusty Yelp app. Toozy is right on the way so I call them, ordering two well-done pies and sautéed broccoli It will be ready in 15 minutes. I'm 8 minutes away on Route 7. I pull in the place is quiet, except for a small family group. I'm told it will be ready in 10 minutes. Ok that's fine. So I sit down to wait next to an automated cat in the window Nervous about the quality of the pizza, I remove him from the window, where he's feverishly waving to folks driving by and ask him how the pizza is here!!?? No response. I wonder if it's because he's Asian and doesn't understand English!! I then see the sign "please don't remove the cat!" Uh oh ok back he goes. Relieved I feel better because he didn't say anything negative. In a few minutes the pizza and broccoli are ready. $42.15. Seems a bit pricey, but what the heck it's Halloween! I get to my friend's and the carving begins as does the voracious attack on the pizza.. combined with a nice bottle of red French wine. All around positive reviews from a very tough crowd. Overall not a great experience, which is a shame because it used to be great! See review to see why: The food is still great. I loved the pizza and everything has a good filling taste. The ambiance is also nice, it's got a cool 70s theme going on. Unfortunately the management is not good. The manager is very rude and dishonest. For example, we ordered a bottle of wine off the menu they gave us. When they brought it out they wanted to charge us twice as much as what the menu said. When we asked why, they said "that's the price for take out, it's twice as much to sit in with it". The real kicker is that we would never have known if we didn't ask for the price. They would've just double charged us at the end. Another example is condiments. They won't give extra butter or any condiments because they claim it's too expensive (even though every other restaurant does it). They also stopped bringing the bread baskets out unless you get take out. They charge a ton if you want extra bread. They give bread if you get an entree but not with a pizza order. We asked the manager why one day and she said "the bread is in your pizza so you don't need any". Another example of poor management is this: one night we went in to eat. We asked the manager if we could sit in and she said "you can, but you may or may not get served because take out orders get priority". It was a strange situation. It's a shame though because I love the food and this place used to be awesome. Now, it's always empty. I want this to be a constructive review. This business has a lot of potential, but they will need to strongly work on their management skills if they are to get people to come back. Look, let's be real, they don't know how to make a pizza. It's some of the worst pizza I have ever had, flavorless, bad texture, bad toppings, and the crust is dry. BUT!!! Someway, somehow, their burgers are fantastic. They're big and juicy and just amazing toppings. I can't explain it, but I've had their burgers dozens of times and I just love em. Although, the burgers have been burnt from time to time, if you get them on a good day, it's one of the best burgers you can get. Time to rebrand toozy, drop the pizza and embrace the burger. Tiny shreds of cheese -- everything else unmemorable -- including the dressing which I think was motor oil. I'm not even going to get into the delivery service -- if it comes in a hour and 1/2 -- you are lucky. The best way to enjoy a great pizza is fresh out of the oven and that's exactly what we had today from Tootzy Patza. The pizza was actually for an 88 year old retired priest living in assisted living near by who's been a big fan of Tootzy Patza. This might have been the worst pizza I have ever ordered... For starters, the pizza came to us barely warm. The dough had a dry/stale taste, rather than a nice crunch and chew. Not to mention under-cooked. We order a Jazz Pizza ( roasted garlic, spinach, broccoli, and ricotta) and plain cheese. The cheese on both pizzas was thicker (and congealed) than the dough. This delivery order was disappointing from beginning to end. First off the online menu is not current with their prices. So I paid more then I expected. Moving on when I hung up after placing my order it was clear that the order taker was not paying attention. I was trying to give very specific delivery instructions. It felt like I was bothering her and she has something better to do. So it was no surprise that the driver called me trying to find my place. On to my meal. I ordered the Southwest Burger. I asked for medium, no lettuce, no tomato and hold the ranch. What I received was lettuce, pickles (not listed on the menu, if it was I would've said no pickles), tomatoes and mayo. According to the menu this burger is supposed to come with BBQ sauce and ranch. So not only did I receive stuff I asked to hold I didn't get the one condiment that I wanted. And to add insult to injury some of the lettuce was brown (see picture). At least they got the temperature right when I asked for medium. On to the pizza. We ordered a small cheese pie with lite mozzarella and lite garlic. Please look at the picture and tell me if that looks like lite mozzarella? The pizza was greasy and to me that's a sign of low milk content cheese aka cheap cheese. I ordered a small pie because I am of the belief that smaller pies tend to be cooked more evenly and are crispier throughout. Not the case here. The sauce was bland and the crust was not crispy. The cheese was not good. I'll give the pizza a 5.1 and the burger a D-. I ordered from this restaurant because I didn't feel like going out to pick up take out. I learned a lesson tonight.
