Absolute joke of a salon. This is my first ever negative review at any business, no matter how bad the service I always find excuses for them brush things off or give the benefit of the doubt but this place and these people are just different. Super weird about pricing and charge based on how much clients "look" like they can pay. While discussing what I'd like to get done and pricing, they hand me a note with a bunch of services I didn't come or ask for, and start attempting to pressure me into doing them, when I try to explain that I'm not interested in all of the services but just fixing my money piece, TWO strands, the stylist brings Justin and Michelle and starts announcing to them and the entire salon that I came "unprepared" to pay for the full service multiple times which was extremely unprofessional, and had nothing to do with the price but just a shock at their way of going about everything. Another stylist, Ashley, kept glaring at me which was very odd, and proceeded to keep staring at me throughout my time there. It went from uncomfortable to honestly hilarious, not intimidating or professional just really embarrassing for her and really funny as I think and back at it and share this experience with my friends, I've never seen so much negative energy and hatred exuding off of someone's face As I go up to pay, they attempt to charge me more than what we had discussed and decided on (which I confirmed) multiple times through the service, and tried to argue with me rather than figure out what turned out to be their own miscommunication between each other. read more

Hair Alchemy has been my beauty squad since they opened day 1. I have been loyal to Michelly and Justin (and Ashley) since she had her own studio previous to the beautiful salon they have today. Folks, these stylists do not get paid by the hour, it is by appointment. They have to protect themselves and their pay by a strict cancellation policy. They have to pay their bills too, just like all of us. If something comes up, call them ASAP and sometimes they can even fill the spot but not guaranteed. To all those leaving terrible reviews, let's be honest... you knew the cancellation policy. You receive a vagaro text to confirm your apptmt. The website and vagaro clearly state the policy (click on salon policy :)). The complainers simply did not cancel in time, procrastinated or whatever it might be. We make mistakes, get mad at yourself for not cancelling and pay your dues. Visit Hair Alchemy another time, you will not be disappointed. To those who complain about their service... I hate to say it but we all do not look like Kim Kardashian, Julia Roberts, etc. we can use those pics as an inspo but understand those cuts and colors might not make us look like them. :) Trust your stylist if they steer you a little differently but in the end it is your decision. I was hesitant to cut my hair and even more to try a new place before these special events but I'm glad I did! I loved my haircut! It was a plus to receive so many compliments from my family and friends at those events too. I returned to Michelly's for a blunt bob this month, (September). Again, I was more than pleased with my cut! It is a confidence booster when you can walk out of a hair salon feeling good about your new hair look! What adds so much value is Michelly's genuine and personable personality and professionalism. The reason I'm giving this place 1 stars instead of 0 is because I do not have the choice to select zero. But this business has absolutely no type of customer service training and they are clearly money hungry... First off, i do admit I was 14 minutes late (I have the phone call to prove it) but they still charged be an extra $25 for being "over 15 mins late" which was bs. Before we started on my service I told the stylist that I wanted the lightner to touch my roots, all I was getting done was face framing, but she insisted on a shadow root (which was an extra $45 but she never informed me it would be an up charge or else I would've said no) and then SHE messed up on my initial toner which caused her to have to retone what she initially put in my hair and she charged me an extra $55 !!! So a $130 service ended up being 265... this is shameful. As a fellow hairstylist Im disappointed that salons abuse and take advantage of clients. I won't be back. read more

Let me say my stylist Liz wasn't a bad stylist. We just had a miscommunication that had me leaving with what I did not want. I had a 20-30 minute consultation with the owner(her husband booked the consultation with her), Liz, and her assistant who videotaped the consultation. I showed her pictures and we talked about what I wanted. I am also speaking to the owner and showing her the pics and taking her recommendations. Liz did try to speak and get clarification during the consultation but was interrupted and almost dismissed by the owner. I figured the owner understood what I wanted as she was taking notes and looking at most of the pics. When we finished she told me she had a 3 month wait but Liz could do my hair. Not a problem. During my appointment Liz asked me if I wanted ombre or balayage. I thought during my consultation it was decided balayage was what I wanted from the pics I showed. Nope it was ombre. Which Liz explained (and did a great job of explaining the difference) after my hair was done. Then when I tried to tell the owner I thought all of this could have been avoided if I would have just spoke with Liz during the consultation they both (her and her husband) got very defensive and saying it was my fault I didn't know what I wanted. I was considering going back and having Liz fix it but after dealing with the owners, I'll pass. Liz was very nice though. read more

I was referred to Michely by some friends. I called the salon and spoke to her husband and explained that I had 26 inch Bellami extensions that needed a move up. My regular hair stylist was out of town. This was my birthday and I needed a move up badly as it was past my 2 months mark. I explained to him that I had a lot of hair and it was going to be a task. What followed was a complete nightmare and continuous bullying on social media where they continue to post reels of my hair videotaped from the back, showing the state of my hair with rude comments and unflattering music. I was told by Michely multiple times that whom ever installed my extension did "SHIT" work and my hair was a complete mess. She also told me that I was ripped off as Bellami extension don't come in a 26 inch weft. I let her finish her job. She took them off, washed my hair thoroughly and begin re installing. When she was done, there were multiple pieces of hair left on the chair and her explanation was....she could not fit them back in. I was surprised and upset as I paid $3,000 for that hair and expected all of it to be placed back. I left the salon in tears. It was my birthday, I paid Michely over $700 and included a very generous tip. I had a feeling something was not correct when my hair appeared much shorter and very heavy on top of my head. I went into Houston and sought a second opinion as I wanted to know where it all went wrong. The stylist I saw, had 20 years of experience and was able to confirm a few things for me: 1. My extension were indeed Bellami, they are custom ordered 26 inch and they are deconstructed. Michely should have know this product if this is what she specializes in. 2. She reinstalled my extension incorrectly, putting the longest pieces on top and instead of of it being 1 row, she tripled the row making the top of my head very heavy and the bottom very thin......making the complete hair look much shorter. Again, something an experienced hair extension stylist should know how to do. 3. The extra hair she did not put in was not because she had no room. It was because her next appointment was in and she rushed me out the door because she ran out of time. The reels on instagram show her side of the story as I was blocked when I tried to explain what truly happened. I would never recommend this business to anyone who has extensions that require actual experience. Furthermore, be aware that you are being videotaped for the purpose of social platforms and that unflattering and just rude comments may be made to promote their agenda. They couldn't have been any nicer but I paid $75 and to end up in my perception was a teen to dry and hot iron my hair was really disappointing. It wasn't a licensed hair stylist which I get you don't need to be licensed to do that and in all fairness the actual stylist was checking on her and I was asked in the end did I like it and I did say yes. After getting home and looking at it I really wasn't happy. I'm still undecided about the cut. I've literally gotten cuts at great clips and walked out feeling great and don't mind paying for services. Usually I pay up to $320 for a trim with highlights. I guess it's just the $75 for just a wash and cut is what's getting me. If the stylist was to busy they should have just rescheduled me. Beautiful store but I'll stick to driving 20 miles and paying $$$$ to the person who has been cutting and highlighting my hair. I'm so sad because I had hopes I could stay closer to home. I used this salon twice in 2021. The first stylist was great, but sadly he was fired by the time I got to the salon the second time. When I got to the place, I was asked to take before and after pictures. I politely declined. That made the stylist very stiff. I also asked the stylist not to use any toner on my hair and not to pull thru to prevent further damage to my blond hair. The stylist disappeared and came back with Michelle, the owner who insisted once again on taking my pictures. I refused. And she said that since I refused to follow their process, I would have to sign a waiver. I waited for this appointment for three months and I was leaving for Europe the next day. I would have walked out of the at that point if not for the circumstances. I signed their poorly written waiver. At this time Michelle's hubby Justin showed up and said that they will work on me today, but in the future, we will not be a good fit for each other and they didn't want to see me there again. Honestly, I had been using salons for over 20 years and no one ever treated me this way. The kicker is no one warned me ahead of time about "their policy" with pictures and such. She could care less about people. What she does care about is her ego, and your money, and being "right" over treating customers with care and consideration. If you think a service provided did not meet your expectations, it doesn't matter to Michelly. She will remind you about 4 x in a matter of 5 mins that you will pay full price. If you have the goal of being white blonde or at least having a toner remove golden hues, I highly suggest you take your hair somewhere else. Not only will you be dissatisfied, you will also leave paying full price for no noticeable difference- maybe an offer to be dark gray as the only correction that I was offered. Additionally you can bet you'll be treated with disrespect and no care whatsoever. In case you are unhappy in any way, expect to pay full price regardless. Oh, if you forget, Don't worry!
