Short story: nasty shop, nasty attitude. Today was probably my 12th visit to Top Nails. It's close, reasonably priced, and typically a quick mid-quality experience. I have sent my guests from out of town here and have relied on them for special occasion nails including my wedding and bachelorette. I was a fan, frequent customer, you name it. Unfortunately the quality has dropped immensely. The shop was so dirty I stopped my pedicure service and opted to leave before polish or my manicure. I tried to speak with the owners to understand if this was temporary (maybe they were short staffed or experienced a death in the family, etc.) however I was met with indifference and told that they "clean everyday". Worst part of moving to a new city is to have to find new paces to go.. Well ive been to 4 nail salons ( inc Top Nails) and this is the first one I am going to be going back to,. found out the hard way they are closed on Sundays) I walked in, was immediately greeted, they were pretty busy, I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes, a girl came and got me, we sat down at her station - she asked what i was looking for, and she nailed it spot on. I needed a fill in, i needed them shorter and almond shaped and smooth. I know some some people are chattier than others, as soon as we got started she got on her phone and talked to a friend the entire time, she still paid attention to me, and checked in that the shape and length were good- so im not complaining... She did a really really good job, and at a good price. it was $45.00 She could have told me i needed a new set and charged a bunch more but I appreciated the honesty and the quality of the work she did. Will def, be back and want to try a pedi next time too. I think I have found my new nail place :) I will post pics next time, this was 3 weeks ago so they are super grown out read more

I got what I went for without any complications. The place was nice and clean and the staff was willing to work.

They did a good job on my nails and the prices were reasonable. I only had to wait a few hours because they were packed. However, next time I'll come first in the morning on a Saturday. The service was great and I will be coming back read more

Honestly, I stopped getting my nails done in Douglasville years ago because the places I tried simply did not provide the level of service I was looking for. I have and will drive an hour to someone I trust for great service, clean equipment, and a solid polish (no clumps). That said, I tried this place while in the area and I was not disappointed. My techs name was Andy. He was very patient and personable. I appreciate when someone listens to how I like my hands and feet done. No one tried to push services on me that I didn't ask for and there was no surprise uncharges on my bill when I checked out. While in the shop I watched as others were being serviced and everyone appeared to leave satisfied. The location was clean and not very loud. The only thing I would say could be improved upon is the ventilation. There was a heavy chemical smell in the air when I first walked in. I would recommend this nail shop. I have added it to the list of places I'm willing to drive to when I need to get my nails done. NOTE: I did not get designs on my nails but I watched another lady get them on hers and they came out real nice. read more

I was looking for a new nail shop so I went here. I got a Gel manicure & pedicure my total was $91. Within two days my nails started chipping... This is the gel polish that was chipping. I called them they told me come on in they'll fix it, so I went let and let them fix it. The next day it chipped again. I wouldn't recommend them for a gel manicure, you would probably have luck with a full set or something but not your regular nails. read more

I usually get my nails done in midtown but decided to stop in here on a late Saturday afternoon to get a quick manicure & pedicure. Luckily I came in before others did but for the late afternoon rush. They tried to service too many people on a skeleton crew. I was seated at a pedicure chair within 5 minutes but waited about 10-15 minutes before being greeted by the tech. She came just as I was about to leave because even though I was in the chair the water hadn't been started or anything. An older woman did my pedicure and did an ok job. A guy did my manicure and they both tried to upsell me repeatedly on more expensive services. I knew I was going to my nail salon next week so I wasn't interested, especially not knowing the quality of work they did. I needed a manicure and it seemed he did an ok job but the next day or 2 it looked like I hadn't had a manicure. Several people came in as I was being serviced and they waited a while before being seated at the pedicure chair or for other services. A few people left after being told it would be 10 minutes and they'd waited probably twice as long. It would be better for them to be honest w/ customers and say they cannot serve them than have people wait. It's not good for business. I believe their prices are as high or higher than my excellent go to nail salon in midtown. Definitely not worth the money due to poor service & just ok work quality. I'd give them 2.5 stars if I could. read more

This place is a waste of such a beautiful space. You know I did read some of the reviews before deciding to try it, and I decided to give them a chance. Boy was that a mistake! I went in and was not greeted at all I wasn't even acknowledged, it was 2 days before Christmas so I just assumed they were focused on pleasing their customers. When I was finally addressed I was told the usual, pick a color and have a sit, however I had already been there for a few minutes already had my color and was ready to go. When I was seated at a station, the station was filthy I actually ended up wiping it down myself. I let the gentleman know I wanted a full acrylic set. He immediately started to cut my nails, without asking. Now I have had my share of manicures and full tip sets, I have never had someone do this. Especially because I take pride in the fact that my natural nails are long so when I looked up at him shocked he then decided to ask me if he could cut my nails. Clearly at this point I let him continue. After he applied my tips I let the man know I wanted coffin shape; for whatever reason he then decided to get up and let another technician take over without saying a word. The woman that took over started to try to do my coffin shaped nails and ended up making them look like diamonds. I was so upset, but also did not want to cause a scene, I let her know and I am guessing she did the best she could. After she applied my color, which I later discovered was not covering the whole nail. All in all I was very displeased and to top it all off after just 4 days my first nail broke and then the next day 2 more..... I will not be returning to this nail salon. read more

So I've been here several times and it's a hit or miss. Today was my last straw, i will not be coming back. They never give you a realistic time for any wait. I arrived a bit before 5:30PM and I left at 7:30PM. All I had was SNS on my real short nails. I was told to sit and soak them off...one hour later No one acknowledged me, I got up after I finished soaking to wash my hands and asked for some colors so I could choose. A few of them can't speak or understand english. I was given the gel nails when asked for SNS until someone could translate. I had to ask the guy to shape my nails even, because they weren't. He said he would after the color was applied and i told them i don't want that because what happens is they'll file the sides and the color gets buffed off. This was $50 and I'm so dissatisfied. The Asian woman with the shoulder length black bob is extremely rude. I don't return and I've been here over 6 times. It's unfortunate because it's 7 min away from my house, but i will find another place. Also the male doing my nails was asking about my race, said i was pretty for an Indian girl and made a comment about the dot on Indian peoples forehead. He was so ignorant I wanted to walk out but he was in the middle of painting my nails. Hope this helps anyone, don't come here! read more

I really hate when I try a new salon, you just never know what you're going to get. I told the woman, who I guess is the manager/owner or something because she's directing everything, that I wanted to soak my nails off. She insisted that they be taken off, not soaked, because they were "lifting" and would be easy to take off. First of all, it hurt like hell when she took a false nail and ran it under the acrylic to remove them. She broke several of my real nails doing so. I am pissed! I don't even know if I want to let them do my nails now. Why don't people just listen to the customer instead of trying to do things their way? This really boggles my mind! The pedicure was $40 and it was the most basic pedicure I've ever had in my life. Very little massaging, no warm towels, no special soak or scrub, nothing! They charge $65 for Ombré! So I passed on the Ombré and got gel instead, my total came to $90 and it looks like a kindergartener painted my nails. I have dents on several nails. I will neverrrrr be back! This is the worst nail salon ever. The young guy who started to work on my fill-in nicked me 6 times. He was finally done with the fill-in part and then asked another person to paint and finish my nails. I asked if he was new and was told that he usually only works on people when they are busy. This is the worst gel polish fill-in that I have ever had. It's hasn't even been 24 hours and the polish is peeling. The person who painted them did my left thumb twice and it has still peeled off. THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT A NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER HAD!! I get in, they immediately sit me down but don't tell me there will be a wait. Before beginning to soak my nails off, I ask how long it will be for them to get to me. The woman I asked wouldn't give me a time frame, just curtly said by the time my nails soaked off someone would be done with their client. Forty five minutes later, still no one had been over to help me. I ended up just leaving with my nails looking horrendous, after still being charged $10 for sitting with my hands in a bowl. I called the store about 20 minutes after leaving and told them what a bad experience I had and how disappointed I was. Their response? They hung up on me. Also I should note that while I was checking out, a woman asked a simple question, and the woman who appears to be in charge of the place was so rude in her response that the would-be client left before even sitting down. read more

I had a mani and pedi done at this location about two weeks ago. I specifically told the technician that I wanted mood and gel polish twice. She brought me the color chart and I picked out my color. I later find out after polish didn't change according to temperature or weather that it was not mood polish but just regular gel polish. No biggie, but then a few days later my polish begin to crack and chip in my thumb so I went in to have them repair it. Then it cracked/chipped on another nail two days later so I went back again. It has been two and half weeks and now all the polish has cracked and chipped away on all my nails. I spent $80 for a service that didn't even last me 2 weeks. I will never go back to this salon again. To pricy and their work sucks. read more

I came in for a spa pedicure and a full set, and ended up walking out in the middle of the pedicure. The guy doing the scrub gave me the weakest pedicure of all time, he was clearly new. Another woman came over to the chairs and started a scene about waiting for too long, gesturing at me and the other customers. I stopped them before they started painting and just paid for the pedi and left. Too small, over-crowded, everyone upset and yelling, cheap equipment. The first time I came here for gel the technician did a great job which is why I'm giving it 2 stars. But do not go here if you want SNS!! I went in about 3 weeks ago and had it done they seemed rushed and almost annoyed she kept saying that it was a difficult color to work with but she filed it so thin that you could see my nail through the color she did offer to redo it but after having been there almost 2 hrs already and having my nails buffed so hard I had sores on my cuticles I decided it was one nail you may not notice. So thinking that was a maybe one time bad day given my first positive experience I decided to try them again. After they soaked my nails I sat down with one girl who after filing and putting the final top coat it started clumping so the lady who did my nails the first time came over and had to redo several nails again(not all of them although the two the didn't redo look and feel terrible) filing my nails till the cuticles were sore and red. Since she was busy I had another technician come over after she filed them down to put the topcoat. I had my SNS done on Thursday night it's Monday and one was again filed so thin you an see the nail and I just got a chip down by the cuticle because the topcoat wasn't applied that far down. And they are rough and catch on everything. At $40 for the service this is unacceptable. I won't be going to this place again especially since they don't seem to know what they are doing with this product. The first girl working on my nails kept complaining about how awful the product was and how they just needed to come up with something else because the glue was too strong and she didn't like doing them. If I could give zero stars I would. On Feb. 19, 2018 was the 1st and last time going here. To start with the water was scolding hot, I asked them to adjust it, the girl turned off the hot and turned on or up the cold, it got cold and after me asking her to heat it back up she didn't, so my feet soaked in cold water. She cut the side of my toe and nipped 2 other toes on my left foot then started to use the toenail clippers on a callous, i quickly jerked my foot back and she put some lotion or softener on my foot and then moved to my right foot. No issues until she started to use the pumice stone, she 1st lightly brushed it across the top of my foot (i was thinking she was brushing something off my foot) but then she started rubbing really hard and fast just as i started to say something she moved to the bottom of my foot- where you're supposed to use a pumice stone. Then before she put it down she swiped it between my big toe and 2nd toe! I didnt realize at that time she had cut the crap out of my foot. Thankfully she did not use the pumice stone on my left foot. I guess her cutting my toes on that foot was torture enough. Her foot massage was good, actually the highlight of the whole experience, but when she sprayed my toes with alcohol to clean off the lotion before painting my toes I knew she had cut my foot all up. My left big toe is throbbing and hurting and the top of my right foot and between my toes have been burning and hurting all day. read more
