I went in & asked for the medium level pedicure with jelly soak listed for $50. I was quickly told that I needed the Indulge package upgrade with paraffin wax and handed a price sheet that showed $65. It had been awhile since I had a pedicure & my heals needed some tlc so I thought I'd splurge. The pedicure itself was fine and lasted the advertised 55 min with 12 min of that soaking in the gel & another 10 with the leg mask. I was asked several times about adding art or more to the color I picked and declined it once was pushed again and declined it again and said just purple please. We had conversation and I thought I had a nice experience until I was checked out. I was told my total was 92.00!!!! Even with the small print of the jelly adding 10 the maximum I should have been charged would be 75. False advertised prices and hard plushy sales techniques won't earn you getting to keep me as a customer. Which really stinks because the process and massage was pretty nice. Never again! read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but I just left this nail salon and honestly, it was one of the poorest experiences I've ever had. First, I was told the wait would be about 15 minutes, but I ended up sitting for 25. Then, the young lady doing my manicure and pedicure seemed more interested in the conversation happening next to her than in the service she was providing. As a melanated man, I can tell when the conversation might be about me--or others who look like me--and I got the impression they were speaking about the two melanated women seated beside me. That alone made the environment uncomfortable. On top of that, the quality of the work was disappointing. My feet and hands were done with little to no care, and I left feeling like my comfort and satisfaction as a paying customer didn't matter. My nails look identical to the picture I showed her very well done BUT my nails are tore up. I have cuts on 5 different fingers from the slow sawing at the sides of my nails from the high grit nail file and I asked for coffin shape and so that means filing the side of my (real) nail down to the nub so so painful. Not to mention all the cuts burned sooo bad when the top coat went on idk if there is some chemical in there that is like fire to open cuts. I had to ask the technician to stop filing bcos I couldn't take the pain anymore, literally there was visible open cuts and some blood from where she was filing. After a week of having them they are still sensitive and the cuts are almost healed. I only pictured one cos the other ones are hard to get a picture of. read more

I think this is my first ever negative review. My experience was THAT bad. I got the Avante pedicure and recieved very little buffing, callus treatment, or shaping. One nail had almost no polish on it and I had to ask for it to be filled multiple times. I still have residue from the nail polish I was wearing when I came in left on the bottom of two of my toes. I was cut on my big toe. It is the least sanitary nail salon I've been to. They don't use fresh tools and had me put my feet on the stool with nothing under them. As my polish started drying, it darkened. Realizing this, I very politely asked for it to be changed and was told it would cost $5. After all that, they tried to pressure me into tipping. I got home and was so upset to have wasted $38, so I called and asked to be refunded and was resfused. Cool. Eyebrow waxing is also not good here (I tried that in the past). This has been the worst experience I have EVER had. I paid $95 for a full liquid get set That wasn't done properly and fell off in a week! Quinn did a poor job and I came in to replace them. When Quinn started to do my nails For the second time (30 min late mins you) I answered every question she had like, " when did you get these done" I expressed that it had only been one week since she last did them. She asked the length and I said "same as last time, I have a picture if you need!" She then stops me after this and starts verbally abusing and yelling at me saying that "I need to be happy and not have an attitude...." Let me reiterate that while I was not exactly overjoyed because I had to come back after only one week, I in no way gave her an attitude, as well as I answered every question she had! Quinn (by the way this is the manager!!!) continues to verbally abuse me and yell at me in the shop. I step up to defend myself because this is absolutely absurd!! This woman is literally yelling at me because of the shitty job that SHE did. They definitely have an attitude here and think very highly of themselves. She can't accept that she did a bad job and did everything she could to blame me for it!!! These nails normally take six months to come off and it's also really hard to get them off when they're done properly. The work that Quinn did they popped off in less than a week. She blamed me because I am a hairdresser, but I have seen Jenni and John at the same place and I've never had this issue. Not once not anywhere. In our first appointment Quinn even told me herself that she wasn't entirely comfortable with doing liquid gel nails! I pleaded with her to try to see what "attitude" she was referring to because all I did was answer her questions to make it as easy as I can for her. She asked if I would like to leave and then I tell her yes, and that I would like a refund. I'm so tired of enduring this hostility that I didn't deserve and I wanted nothing but to get out of there. I didn't receive the service that I paid for. She even threw her nail clippers at me and told me to take off what she did myself. Never in my life. Have I been treated this way by someone. This crazy woman, and then threatens to call the cops on me if I don't leave! As a hairstylist that is in a similar business and field, I would never in 1 million years recommend this nail salon to anyone ever again after the way I was treated. If I made a mistake on one of my clients I would own it and I would do everything in my power to make it right. What these people did today was repugnant and inexcusable I still want my money back, and I hope that they at least have an owner that has integrity, and that will reach out to me about this. In my opinion, they really need to hire a more professional manager that doesn't attack their customers for simply coming in for a redo because of their shitty rushed work. With the way that this woman thinks that she can act is insane. No respect for others. I'd be terrified to have this woman running my business. Upon discovering Avante Beauty Lounge (Smoky Park Hwy location) I have made it my home salon, and refuse to go elsewhere. From the upscale modern vibe and excellent customer service to the myriad color and design options (for insane design details ask for Danny- he "nails" any pic off Pinterest I bring in) executed effortlessly and flawlessly with top tier products, every experience I've had the past several months has been nothing short of exceptional 5 star treatment (and this isn't the complimentary wine talking lol!). In the pics I'm posting I requested cat eye French mani with gems, and let Danny take it from there. The initial pics are in the lounge immediately after, the rest are taken today (a week later)- I'm rough with my hands, and you can see how well his work stands up! Super convenient location, really pretty and chic interior... but I didn't have the best experience here at all. :/ I'm sad cause I've had coworkers recommend this place to me, and they always do such a pretty job on their nails. Their SNS dip manicures are $40, which is a bit higher than other places I've been to. Granted, the options are super pretty. I didn't get his name, but there was a man that did my nails. While working, he asked if I wanted him to do "cuticle work" as well, and if so, it'd be an extra $10. I declined, cause I figured it was some special treatment that he'd do to my cuticles. Apparently, he meant doing anything to them at all, cause majority of my fingers were bleeding near the end of the session. He made a comment, "see? You should've let me do your cuticles". I remained quiet while he worked, I'm not one of those girls that complains or tells the nail techs how to do their job, that drives me crazy... but I knew this guy's tip meter was slowly going down. I got my nails done almost a week ago, and my cuticles are red and inflamed still. I was hesitant writing this, cause I'm usually all about writing good reviews for local places, but this just wasn't acceptable. This is the BEST place in the Asheville area to get your nails done, and Quinn is TOP NOTCH!! It's worth the drive to the other side of Asheville for me because the artistic ability that I have seen here is just amazing. I always use Pinterest, Insta, and other sights for design ideas and this place has always delivered. As far as the previous review that was left by Jasmine P., I was there when it happened, as well as a few other ladies, and what she described was just simply not true. It reminded me of the courtroom scene in the movie, Legally Blonde. Chutney, who gets her hair permed on a regular basis, should know that you cannot wash your hair within the first 24 hours of getting it done! Well, anyone that gets their nails done on a regular basis should know that there is NO WAY that a nail service, whether it be acrylic, dip, gel, etc. would last 6 months like she was claiming that they should have lasted! Even in her review she stated... "These nails normally take six months to come off and it's also really hard to get them off when they're done properly." Anyway, the other ladies and I were there having a relaxing and enjoyable time talking about the one ladies kid's upcoming graduation, etc. when Jasmine came in and sat down in the chair next to mine. It didn't take long at all for everyone to quiet down and for it to become tense because you could tell that something was off by the way that she was acting. It's hard to explain, but the way that she was showing her hands to Quinn was not the way someone would when they were about to get them done. She was kind of flinging them, if that make sense, and Quinn was trying to look at them before she began. At that point, Quinn asked her to stop with the attitude and to please be nice to her, and things just escalated from there. Jasmine was going off and the whole time Quinn was basically saying that she wasn't going to hear it while pleading with her to stop. Jasmine was asked to leave and she would not. In the end the police came, and they stated that she received a warning that if she came there again, she would receive a trespassing charge. I wrote this review not only because of the stellar service that I have always received here, but also because of the unfair review that was written about this place and Quinn, and what took place that day. read more

I was charged $30 for a full set $10 for cuticle work $ 5 for a nail shape Etc. I'm fine with paying, that's not the issue. I've never in my life been charged for a cuticle clean or a nail shape. Your website needs to state these things, if your going to charge for them. Just be consistent with advertising! I also had a lash lift and brows waxed. THEY LOOK incredible, Quinn (unsure of spelling) did a wonderful job! The nails look very nice. I was prepared to pay extra for the glitter and leaves, but not $90. I got my nails done at the other location and they were not nice and they made the acrylic nails so thick it took me over two hours to take them off after 3 weeks. So I needed to get my eyebrows done and they have a salon closer to my house and thought I would give them a try and I went to get my eyebrows waxed here and I told the lady that I just wanted them cleaned up and a trim becuase I have thick eyebrows and I wanted to keep them like that just cleaned up. My eyebrows dont even look the same and are so thin and one is shorter than the other. very disappointed and probably never going back to either locations. read more

My feet look the same as when I came in, except they are painted. The lady that waxed my brows got wax in my hair and never said nothing. Left with it in my hair. She was also rushing, doing nails between waxing. This place could be good if they took more time with their clients. Everything is rushed. Even with having an appointment. I paid for the 45 dollar pedi, and it was extremely short. Also the pedi chairs are too close together. It's hard to even sit down without hitting the person beside you. If I could put 0 stars I would. They put me with a lady that had no idea what she was doing. Took over an hour for her to do one hand. First she put glue all over my finger just to add tips and the tip wouldn't stay glued because she used so much and it wouldn't dry. She took the tip off and let the glue dry on my finger so I asked her to clean up the glue from under my real nail and instead she just added more glue. Then for the rest of the tips she barely put any glue at all so everytime she filed them they were raised on both edges and kept falling off. She proceeded to do dip once she eventually got all the nails on. What a shit show... she had no idea how to do dip, it was uneven and lumpy and all over my cuticle. My nails on one hand look like giant raised bubbles. Finally, the other lady saw her struggling and my frustration and she took over. She did a half decent job... however she didn't remove the hand that was screwed up and tried to fix it with the drill. When she was done both hands look completely different and I was still unsatisfied with the entire experience. She wanted me to come back later to have the other hand removed and redone but by the time of my appointment I was so frustrated that I paid $50 for a wack job I didn't even want to go back to this nasty joke of a nail salon. Read the reviews people and don't go here. I shouldn't have even paid for this at all. I just moved here for a short term contract but I'll be driving back home this weekend to have them taken off and redone at my home nail salon where they are clean and know what they're doing. My brother-in-law got his eyebrows waxed and he says they were "Professional, quick, affordable"..she made his brows look clean and natural! I got a basic mani/pedi and was seated immediately! I had been going to have my nails done and I was happy with the service. Then I had my brows micro bladed by Gwen. She did a good job. The problem occurred when I was scheduled for a follow up. I called and canceled 2 weeks before the appointment. Then, I called back to reschedule and I was told by the receptionist that I would have to pay for a follow up because I did not cancel my original appointment. I explained that I did but that went no where. The moral of this story is always get the name of a person that you spoke with to cancel. I was upset that the receptionist asked if I would like to schedule with a post procedure payment. I feel as a well paying customer I should have received a more responsible out come. read more

They were extremely accommodating, and able to complete every service I requested-which included a pedi, old set removal, and new gel/dip set with an amazing design. I thoroughly enjoyed my pedicure, and had a phenomenal experience with Quinn who completed my full set and was one of the best nail techs I've been to. I had Joy both times that I visited and she was very rough and basically just made up her own pricing. Over $70 for a full set and then $60 for a full in. She does not follow the pricing that they advertise online. Both times once my nails were finished, I went to the iPad register at the front counter for her to ring me up. Instead of selecting the pre-programmed buttons that charge for the actual service received, she just uses the "custom" button and enters in a random amount then adds on extra for gel polish or glitter. Their website clearly states the cost for a full set and a fill in with "your choice of lacquer" but she insists that it's extra. When I spoke up the second time that it's too expensive, she would only take $5 off my bill. So I paid my $60 bill and left with 2 bleeding cuticles. It really saddens me. It's an absolutely gorgeous salon and in such a convenient location, but she will rip you off with no remorse. read more
