It was great working with everyone from there for Cindy (the President) coming to quote our move right to the movers. I want to ALERT all of you about how I had over $5000 in damages from Ridgewood Moving, and they refused to pay for them even though I had purchased the LARGEST insurance option package ($600). This is the first time I have EVER left a negative review of a company but as we all know, moving is an extremely stressful event and since it was a big move to a new home, I interviewed several companies stressing specifically how important and invaluable my son's large and delicate pop culture collection was to us and that it had to be handled carefully. Ridgewood Moving said they would be able to take care of it and we had SEVERAL meetings about the move. Well, they overstacked the boxes, crushing over $5000 of his collection and then said they would not pay for any of it since I packed it myself. One would think the insurance would cover it or they would have mentioned this at one of the meetings. They did not! Given how large this move was and what I paid for it, I would have had no problem paying them extra to pack up his stuff. I was even open to discussing a settlement. Instead, they had the audacity to send him a $250 gift card- Gee Wow! At least they paid to fix a chandelier and table they damaged too. BTW, I paid extra to have the chandelier crated and when the electrician removed it, they said they had never seen such a terrible job since the wire allowed it to sway inside the box. That was also an extra amount I paid that was just done terribly. Any move is hard but this was just horrible service and devastating to us. There are other good movers in the area that will stand behind their work- I would highly recommend using someone else. read more

We used Ridgewood Moving Services for a move within New Jersey in June 2023. They did the estimate remotely via screen-share walk through, which was very convenient for us. We also had the opportunity to review and update the inventory to be as precise as possible so the estimate could be tweaked as needed. The estimator (Stefano) was very professional and a clear communicator who made sure we stayed on the same page. The moving team, led by Anthony, was fantastic from start to finish. They all were pleasant, hard-working and professional, and nothing was broken or missing, and there were no hidden or unexpected charges. Wow! Just wow! If you'd like amazing service from your first phone call to when the movers leave, look no closer. Ridgewood Moving offers a true white glove service. We called Cindy and she came by to give us a detailed estimate and walk us through our move. We moved in 2020 during Covid and they were very conscious of health and safety. The movers arrived on time and we did NOTHING. They come in like a well oiled machine and handle everything for you. They take apart all your furniture and put it back together in your new house. Everyone was so nice and respectful of our items and emotions - watching your whole life drive away in two trucks is very emotional but Ridgewood Moving held our hand through it all. Watch out for these folks! We use them to move and they had employees that stole two of our bicycles from the basement. When we followed up with them about the bicycles, Steve investigated and admitted that one of his employees took the bikes. He also informed us that the employee had already given the bicycles to his children and refused to get them back. After numerous follow up about this situation, we finally had no choice to give up without any compensation even though we had promised the bikes to our family members. If you want to be sure that you will have your household items safe and secure do not use this vendor or you may find out that you are providing presents for the next birthday or Christmas for an employee's family. This is really unfortunate as the Owner Cindy was always great. On the contrary Cindy The movers were given specifically one room, the great room, to pick what they wanted after the estate sale had been completed. They were never hired to clean the house out or take anything out of any other room. Specifically the bikes in the garage had been promised to members of our family. When we contactedRidgewood movers about this we were told that the mover had taken them and given them to his children. We consider them to be stolen property that we were never reimbursed for. Additionally this was a great disappointment to the children they were promised to. I think we were generous to offer the items in the great room however other items throughout the property were not available to be picked over by the movers. This was brought to the attention of your manager immediately and Mark was told that nothing could be done because this would be a disappointment to the employees children. Not cool, not appropriate and not customer satisfaction that should be provided. You are right, a long distance move is difficult otherwise we would have done what should have been done and contacted the owner ship at the franchisor about this matter. Just a heads up for other folks in the area to make sure this doesn't happen to them. read more

We used these guys today to move from Wood-Ridge to Franklin Lakes and it was a great experience. First off, Susan the operations support lady was so helpful setting the move up last minute (about 5 days before). She provided me with a quote in 5 minutes and coordinated everything between her company and the apartment community I was moving from. I didn't have to do anything. The movers (2 young guys) were timely, professional, clean, and super fast! They disassembled, shrink wrapped, taped up, loaded, unloaded and reassembled EVERYTHING! We didn't lift a finger. We had a great experience with Ridgewood Moving Services. They were able to accommodate our requested date (a Saturday), quoted us at a reasonable price, and arrived on time and ready to work. The 2 guys they sent were FANTASTIC! Professional and efficient. We had packed up most of the stuff ourselves, but they shrink-wrapped everything we needed and were precision-like in their packing of the truck. Ryan and Russell were fantastic - the move went quickly with no damages and I was very impressed that they were able to handle the Ikea Dresser From Hell. They wrapped all the mirrors/etc up and shrink-wrapped the dresser - I didn't have to take my clothes out of the dresser! Protect yourself! Call another company!!! I received quotes from three companies. Ridgewood Moving was the lowest. There is a reason for this! They ripped me off. They quoted me 6.5 hours but ultimately charged me for 11. The guys work hard but play it up as well. My estimate was for $750 but my final bill was for $1220.00. That's almost 70% more than the estimate...and I asked for NOTHING other than what was in the bid. When I called the office to report the discrepancy, I was told they would pull the file and Steve would call me. But he never called. And why would he? They had my money. Do yourself a favor...if you're moving, call another company. This one is a joke. read more

By far one of the worst customer services ever. Stay away as far as possible from this krappy unprofessional moving service. The office staff is excruciatingly incompetent and they refuse to help people who store their personal items in their storage facilities. One of the clumsiest idiots I've ever dealt with in a long time. Instead of charging me for one large cell, they placed my furniture in five different cells to maximize the monthly storage fees. Extremely hostile, very lazy, and most of all, a litany of pathetic excuses claiming they are always right. We used ridgewood moving services for our move from storage to our new house. While the movers seemed to work at a decent pace and were capable, one of them threw a lit cigarette onto the side of our driveway and it started a FIRE! The fire was the size of a campfire and my wife noticed it (thank god) and all were able to put it out. I'm thankful the fire didn't get big enough to get out of control. The company didn't even offer any type of discount for the situation until I called and wanted to walk through the charges. Even then, they just offered to waive the $50 cc fee. The movers also complained about everything and argued with each other the whole time. All in all it was not a pleasant experience. We have moved many times and have had much better experiences elsewhere. read more

My feeling for this company is mixed. Was very grateful they hooked us up with a great van lines ( Bekin ) who did such a professioanal job. Please also check a review I will seperately write just for Bekins and the guys who did the actual physical moving of our home. John Hofler of Bekin Van Lines, just incase you missed my other review, is the guy you wish would take care of your long distance move like mine ( from New Jersey to Henderson). This moving thing is all draw of the luck , you can get a good agent but assigned a shitty van lines or a good van lines with crappy employees or combination of both. You would need to know what to expect from your moving agent and from your vanlines. DO YOUR RESEACH ! Ridegewod Moving as agents did a good job at the beginning giving us an inspection, quote and all sorts office stuff that need to be taken care to get our moving request processed. However they lacked the proper follow through onced we signed the dotted line of our moving agreement. Some of the things we expected from them as we were told at the beginning just seemd to vanished at some point. While going up the stairs to my apartment, they had to open up a neighbor's door to get them a little more space and a better angle to get up the stairs. First they got permission.
