I ordered shrimp mei fun and they gave me a generous portion of both shrimp and mei fun. It was so much, i had left overs. The wait time was approximately 10 mins. Even better this spot was only less than 3 mins from the house I was visiting. The food was tasty and satisfied my cravings. For this particular case . I've been going here for years and usually get th sesame chicken which is usually delicious. Today I ordered sweet and sour pork. As soon as I opened container I noticed it dark color like it was fried in old oil. In addition the pork was way overcooked. So overcooked you couldn't even cut it with a knife or chew it. I managed to salvage a few pieces but even they were hard to chew. The fried rice and eggroll were OK. Pretty disappointed that someone knowingly served this. They had to know they were like rocks when they took them from fryer basket and put them in container. read more

I'm starting a quest for good Chinese takeout in my area, according to the people, there really is none. I'm not talking about a restaurant that I order take out from, although there is a lack of a good one of those as well, I'm talking about your straight up Chinese take out. So, starting with Top One: I ordered my usual favorites. The egg roll was great, no grease and very good flavor, just what you would expect. Steamed pork dumplings, the thick doughy kind were pretty good. Sweet and sour chicken was just ok, not good or bad, the portion was on the light side. Scallion Pancakes were where they went wrong, they were very thick and hard and didn't taste like scallion at all. Boneless ribs were a little lacking in flavor but passable. All in all I'd say a solid middle of the road Chinese take out place but not impressive. I'm going to continue my quest! read more

My husband was so insistent on finding a new place because the one I LOVE is "too expensive". I went with my daughter and ate there because we were in a rush. As i sat there and waited for my food i was hesitant to walk out because of how dirty the tables and decor was. I didn't want to be rude and thought maybe the food was good as some reviews. IT WASN'T! No flavor watered down and one shrimp in the shrimp roll. The shrimp roll had a weird taste to it. The chicken was rubbery and the rice had NO taste. Gross. Glad we didn't get sick! Ordered Shrimp with Broccoli & brown rice. The bag was SOAKING wet when I arrived at my house. At first I thought it might be water, but I saw the food container was filled to the absolute max. When I finally opened the container, I could see the oil was starting to separate (might be old?), and had clearly soaked out of the container into the bag. I was hungry and decided to try the food anyway. Got through a few of the shrimps and broccoli and then I started noticing the shrimp was not clean and some of the broccoli actually looked rotten (yellowish/green color). I threw the rest of the food out (~75% of my order). My stomach started hurting about 30 min later. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL. Tried most of the Chinese places around here, and probably my favorite one. General Tsos is great, dumplings delicious and chicken in garlic sauce are all on point. Wasn't a huge fan of Mongolian beef, but that is always hit or miss. To the people giving this 1 star because it had surprise pork in something or it was greasy, or the phone girl wasn't the friendliest human on the planet ....it's a damn take out Chinese food place, what do you expect! It's take out chinese and it's delicious. It's not a 5 star restaurant and it's not gross, and the food always tastes fresh. I think it's better than anyone if the 4 others in the general Huntington Station I've been to, and I've been here at least 8-10 times since. read more

Expect to hear a lot of yelling, especially during times when it's starting to get busy. I was confused at first but after doing research, i found out it was normal for a Chinese take out to have yelling for communications above the kitchen noise i presume. The food is good, came out in a reasonable timing. I always get Wonton soup, egg rolls, sesame chicken, and sometimes, ribs for the family. Overall a good Chinese take out if you want to relax and enjoy some Chinese food! A quick tip is to also ask the two ladies in the front for some black tea and they'll be generous enough to supply you with some! expect me to come back in the future! read more

We have lived nearby for over 20 years and have tried many of the Chinese places around but we keep coming back to Top One. Their food is fresh and isn't smothered in grease the way so many Chinese places make their food. Not doused in salt / MSG either. They have excellent soup, especially the hot and spicy. read more

We've been going to Top One for about 10 years. Their food is delicious and they make any adjustments to the dishes that you ask for. We used to go to Dragon Gate but they charge more money for less food (which isn't as tasty as Top One anyway) and if you ask for more rice, Dragon Gate charges you an arm and a leg for it. At Top One, they're happy to give you extra of anything for a reasonable price. Recommended: spare ribs, dim sum, hot & sour soup, young chow fried rice, shrimp (or chicken) & broccoli, egg foo young, vegetable lo mein and chicken chow mein. The family who runs Top One are hard working people who work long hours 7 days a week. They have always been gracious and try very hard to please. The egg foo young was absolutely terrible no flavor at all.. the spare ribs were ehh not impressive. The two women who work the counter and I presume are the owners are extremely rude and do not value their customers. I've heard them yell on several occasions at people who were calling back about an order. Ordered from here a few nights ago and the food was not great. Went with a few "diet" dishes consisting of lemon chicken and broccoli, steamed chicken and spinach and steamed chicken with mixed vegetables. When I close my eyes and take a bite it is OK but whatever you do, don't examine the meat. It's well, different looking. The spinach was really tough to chew to and the mixed vegetables were boring. However, these were health dishes so we got what the menu said, bland food. The sauces however that come on the side with the diet dishes are in no way diet. I asked the woman on the phone what the sauces consisted of and she wasn't sure. The garlic sauce was very thick and too tasty to be healthy. I wish they would accompany health dishes and healthy sauces. (Do healthy sauces even exist?). The fried rice was decent and the soup was average. If you're ordering alone get the small size it's plenty big for one. Also if you want brown rice instead of white make sure you specify because they will assume white. read more

What an absolutely awful experience we had at Top One Last night. This is the second time we have had our order messed up. And only the third time we have been there, Spring rolls contain pork here And for someone who doesn't eat pork this is not a good thing. Hot and sour soup is also a dish that should never contain meat and here it does. We were told by the guy working here last night it's not meat it is chicken broth. We have ordered takeout from here a number of times now. A little better than your typical Chinese takeout and beats out a lot of the local competition. To my group of friends this place is called "tasteless one". On top of tasteless food, the woman in front is downright nasty. The last and final time I went I asked for "an eggroll" and she thought I said "eight eggrolls" to which she scolded me telling me it's proper to say "I want eggroll". On another occasion we ordered $15 worth of food and had it delivered less than a mile to the house (lazy Sunday) and the guy was upset we only gave him a $3 tip. By far the best chinese food I've ever had. It's never over sauced, and seems like it might be slightly healthier than other chinese food. The wonton soup isn't too salty and the meat stuffing has real flavor. I usually go for the chicken and snow peas which I don't typically see at other chinese places. read more

As far as Take-Out Chinese goes in Huntington Station, Top One is tops. The food is consistently good, and the women behind the counter are always friendly. Sometimes the person answering the phone is a little confused on the order, but they always get it right. Have been going there for 8 years and only once have I had to go back because they gave me pork instead of chicken. And when you call, everything is always ready in "ten minutes".
