Went here last Saturday morning. Naturally it was packed but the line moved fairly quickly. Lots of people there so curious to how busy it will be when things settle to normal! We ordered a half dozen...so not to crazy. Hubby had to have an apple fritter....it was fresh and delish. Onto the maple bar, sizing didn't seem consistent to me but hubby disagreed. At one point in time, Top Pot had excellent quality, and was making a name for itself. But now they have a name and no quality. Really unsatisfied with my latest trip to top pot. Donut tasted stale, "hard" (instead of soft and fresh). Tasted like a walmart or grocery store donut, except it was about 3 times as expensive. TP donuts used to be hand formed and amazing, now they look like their from a mass machine. Honestly I think it might have been brought in late the night before and left out, because I was there at around 730 and it already was day old-ish. This could be wrong, but I think this location gets a donut delivery from another baking location, and does not bake them here, so they may sit out for a while after delivery. I don't give 1 star reviews unless I feel someone went out of their way to disrespect me, but this was not a good experience. read more

Waiting for the ferry and ran across to get coffee and a donuts. Very fast, but the coffee Taste like dish water, maybe the worst coffee I have ever had. Donuts were hit and miss, great old fashioned cake with maple icing, the glazed donut was not very good. Top pot does great cake donuts, the coconut is to die for. Get better coffee read more

I took my son here and bought him an apple fritter. It was completely raw in the center and gave him a bad stomach ache after eating the raw dough. I called to let them know. I was not offered a replacement or even an apology. I left my information for the manager and after two weeks I have not heard from them. An awful product and careless customer service. We stopped in here while we were waiting for the train. I was really looking forward to a morning cup of coffee. Wow, was I disappointed. I ordered a chi latte and asked for no added water. The girl said they don't add water. It was terrible(and I have had bad before). There was no flavor at all and tasted like faint chi tea water. I did not have time to go back and dumped it in the first garbage I passed it was not worth a second try. My husbands mocha was really weak too. We hopped out of the car as we had time before the ferry came. The bathroom was completly out of tp, i told em but they knew already (why not get on it?) (I luckly have tissue in my purse) and PEOPLe flappon lock the bathroom door, I walked in on a guy who is using the bathroom oblivious to the fact I even walked in. Of course this sentence has nothing to do with the business itself I just have to add it in there cuz that's not the first time that's happened. Thank goodness it was me leading the way and not my seven-year-old daughter! Anyhow they had a cluster of eager workers ready to get your order ready and helped you until you were ready to pay (or your order was done). They had a good variety of donuts, and the rest of the building appeared to be clean. Overall I would end up coming back here, because it's convenient if you have enough time to kill before the next ferry. First impression review -- Three stars at best. I'm not a donut aficionado by any means, but in the words of Shania "I would've voted for Trump" Twain in combination with my own twist, that donut impress me much. The selection is sparse and there is nothing special as far as flavors. Sure, the space is more impressive than your local mom 'n' pop shop, but I'm just having a big ol' piece of cake with a hole in the middle. I ordered a plain for the kiddo and a Bavarian Cream, and milk and a cold brew. I was later informed they were out of cold brew. (Side note: I wish places would note this on their board.) So, I opted for an iced espresso instead. The good: Bavarian Cream was pretty good. Not overly sweet. Nice and soft and filled with custardy yumminess. The iced espresso actually impressed me. It reminded me of the first time I had really good coffee (if you're curious, it was Handsome Coffee (now Blue Bottle?) in LA). I only had 8 oz, but would've loved to double it if I could get caffeinated. The bad: Plain donut tasted like it was 2 days old. My kiddo took a little bite and the look on his face said it all: "You hate me, mama, don't you?" It was super dry and firm. I'm surprised my kid didn't chip a tooth. I had to share my Bavarian with him. Since I grew up thinking about the starving kids in Africa, I went ahead and consumed the rest of brick of a plain donut. I do want to make one apology, though. After finishing our treats, I went to the restroom to wash our hands. I noticed a bit of my butt crack showing. PSA: Low-rise jeans+non-maternity shirts don't mix. Sorry to the patrons and employees I may have offended with my fashion faux paux. The upstairs area, which I didn't get to check out, looked cool. Love this place. My husband swears that the cake donuts are the best he's ever had, and I love the gluten free jam cakes (when they have them). Drip coffee is solid. read more

I'm a commuter, drive by in the morning and again in the afternoon. I tried twice, once even though the "OPEN" sign said they were open, they weren't. They must of just closed though, because the employees were still there behind the counter. I must of startled them when I jerked on the door, because they all looked up and stared at me like they were witnessing paranormal activity. I finally came in one morning and was greeted by an uninspired employee ( I don't think she liked her job) so, picked the apple fritter. I didn't eat of all of it, just way too sweet and not a whole lot different than a supermarket version. But, I'm okay with it, because being a doughnut hound, I found my way to Countryside Donuts less than 10 minutes away... and on my way to the office to boot! read more

Everything was just totally mediocre, thus a mediocre rating. The service was the only thing I could give a good review on. The girls working were fast and cordial. Not friendly, but I appreciate the efficiency. Let's get down to business- no one comes here for the service. Wow what a nice experience! From out of town and stuck in ferry line. Crossed the road to use restroom and was pleasantly surprised to find this lovely shop. Clean bathrooms. And went to get a donut for my daughter on my way out. But only had my phone! Couldn't access my credit card number through the app. And they were so patient with me. In the end I was ready to leave without the donut. The young man at the cashier gave it to me for free and to tell you I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The store at this location is TERRIBLE. The last three times we came to the drive through, they had (no exaggeration) less than four donuts left. I am slightly disappointed with this place. It looks so inviting from the outside! Theres an awesome staircase filled with classic books. The decor on the inside is lacking, feels like a warehouse and needs some mood lighting, maybe some cafe lights along the ceiling? The upstairs would look better with a comfortable thrift couch and some comfy pillows. It feels so empty and is totally missing something. The pastry and doughnut case is very disappointing and nearly empty. Although the scone was tasty, really need to step up your vegan options, especially if you want to appeal to a whole other demographic of people. Last but not least, the women who work here are horrible! One has dark hair and tattoos, other is blonde hair and the other has dark curly hair. They have a serious case of RBF, not a single smile from any of them. I am huge on customer service to make up for a less than desirable decor, but did not save them. There was no greeting, no offer of help because this was our first time in here. I am highly disappointed and will not be coming back. Cold brew and soy milk tastes classic though, no different than Starbucks in my opinion. Can definitely find better up at the Red Twig. read more

This is a great location. It is near the water, walkable from the ferry line, near other things around downtown Edmonds. The store is clean which is consistent. Negative rating on customer service. Most of the employees seem unhappy with their jobs and act as if they totally don't want to be there. There are some good employees. The donuts are hit or miss. Sometimes they are good sometimes they are really dry or stale. Considering the price is a bit higher for the donuts, with tax four donuts cost $12, the gamble on getting a good donut is up to you. The inside layout is odd. They do have a loft which is nice, but the stairs to the loft are in the middle of the store which makes trying to get around the store difficult. This is especially true if it is crowded. The store seems to sell a lot of coffee drinks which slows down the line, but people are ordering it so they must like it. They do have a drive through, so you can donut and drive. read more
