I've been going to Michelle for about 2 years, now. From the beginning, she was always friendly and knowledgeable. I was referred to her by another Yelper and I loved how full her brows were. Michelle immediately made an appointment for me when I contacted her. She also has an online appointment system, that's super convenient. My brows are always consistently full and she taught me some her secrets with keeping them full in between appointments. She also showed me which tools to get, which I immediately went out and bought. She always asks if you have any allergies or are taking any medications that make your skin sensitive, like Accutane or Retin-A. I like that she asks that, because things change between appointments and it's easy to forget to tell her. I've been to places where the wax is rough, but hers is like silk. She's quick and efficient and I leave there not wanting to wash my face and mess up my brows for days! If your brows are microbladed, she can still take care of them. I had mine microbladed this year and she does a great job of cleaning them up and keeping my look fresh. Michelle shares a space with her husband Oscar. He's a barber and totally gives the old school vibes with that amazing chair he uses for clients. So you could totally bring your guy for an appointment at the same time. Michelle has a private room divided by a cool barn door. Their shop is located inside of Top Shelf Studio and it's completely updated on the inside. I'm guessing it used to be a house...very cute. I called to make an appointment and the person answering didn't even identify herself so I wasn't sure if this was a business. When I asked to make an appointment she quoted me $50!!! for an eyebrow wax! On top of that there was a once month wait! Thankful that happened as I found a great eyebrow technician at Nordstrom! read more

Okay I was seriously contemplating not writing a review because I want to keep Michelle a secret -and I don't want to have a hard time booking an appointment when I want to see her. lol . But I want to do my part in helping her business, so here we go.... I came across Michelle's Yelp page a few months ago and decided that I was going to let my brows grow out (3.5 months y'all!). Sorry no before photos because I'm a coward! hahah Her place is located above J's Flowers. The entrance is on the Inglewood Ave side and not the Artesia side. You can park on the street or the parking lot (Don't part in the J Flowers parking space though because there are signs saying not to park there) It's been almost 10 years since I've had my eye brows waxed. I've always had it threaded since I don't want to get burned and for skincare reasons I just have chosen not to put wax on my face. But to each his(her?) own. Michelle was meticulous (It think it took about 45-50minutes). First she waxed then preceded to pluck away and worked her magic. I opted to get my eye brows tinted as well (I've never gotten it tinted before but I figured she's the perfect gal to loose my tinting virginity to. I was right.She was perfect and it didn't hurt! hahaha!) She accepts credit cards (including Amex). If this is your first time coming to her, I recommend you let your brows grow as much as you could possibly stand (like 2 months +) before booking an appointment that way Michelle will have more to work with on your first time. I'm in love with my brows! They are so full and shapely! read more

I finally decided a few months ago to grow out my super thin eyebrows. After not touching them for months and letting them grow out as much as possible I knew I had to go to the best of the best to get them done. Michelle is so good at what she does and takes her time to perfect your eyebrows! I told her I've been growing my eyebrows out and she made sure to leave as much hair as possible. My eyebrows haven't looked this good in years!! I highly recommend everyone to come to her. She also offers other services at her shop like brow tinting and more! Can't wait to come back! Michelle is AMAZING! I used to get my brows waxed at a local nail shop which I unfortunately had to leave because they waxed part of my brow off. I found Michelle on ig and was so impressed with her work that I decided to grow my brows out and make an appointment. Waiting nearly 4 months for growth and coming here was WORTH IT! Michelle made my brows look amazing and really cares about her customers satisfaction. She even gives you the option to have them filled in with make-up. I've gone to her about 4 times now and i leave her place with my brows always POPPIN' ! Making an appointment is super easy and convenient as you can do so online or by phone. Michelle is the BEST! My brows have never looked better than since I've been going to her. She gives the perfect shape of your brows to compliment your face and is consistent with every visit. Michelle is the best at what she does. I used to pay $10 for a quick fix at a mall and I went to see her after checking out her IG page. The fills are awesome and last me a few weeks which is great because it saves me time on my daily makeup routine. She is super friendly, has the best looking salon, free parking, and accepts card and cash payments. GO SEE HER!! read more

Melanie is an incredibly sweet and talented artist. I can confidently tell anyone in search for the best brows or lash lift that melanie is your person to go to. After I get my eyebrows done, I usually feel like a brand new person, but it wasn't the case when I went to Michelle. The interaction between her and I was awkward. I spent $50 on eyebrows, $5 on the lip, so I ended up spending roughly $60 with the tip I gave. It was not worth it at all. My eyebrows were not how I wanted. She usually fills in client eyebrows after she's done, but they weren't even filled in correctly. I'm disappointed because so many people have great experiences with Michelle, but mine was not pleasant. I want to note that I went to her some time ago, but I'm now taking the time to write this review. read more

For many MANY years I used to only get my eyebrows threaded. I noticed throughout the years that my eyebrows became thinner and thinner and thinner (picture chola eyebrows). I did not like how they looked anymore so I decided to let them grow out before I got them done again. I began to search on Instagram for new eyebrow techs and I came across Michelle. I fell in love with her work. I've been going to Michelle now since the Fall and my eyebrows have NEVER looked better and people are always complimenting me. Her studio is very clean, and comfy. I live in Seattle and flew down to have my eyebrows done by Michelle. I had been growing out my eyebrows for 6 months and refused to let anyone touch my eyebrows unless it was Michelle! I found her on Instagram and have been obsessed with her work. It was well worth the flight and wait! Michelle takes her time grooming your brows until they are perfection. Her shop is very clean and welcoming. Sweetest person ever and anyone who has a passion for brows is the only person who should EVER be allowed to touch your brows. Love it! Michelle did an amazing job. I use to drive over an hr away (in they valley) to do my eyebrows. Got tired of the commute and was looking for someone local. If I could give her negative 5 stars I would. My friend has been raving about Michelle for a while so finally decided to check her out, starting with her Instagram - where it states that they now have Saturday and Sunday appointments, I was stocked. I booked my appointment online, received my confirmation email and text, showed up to my 12:20 appointment 10 minutes early, the door is locked, I called/texted the number and no answer, I waited (maybe they stepped out to grab lunch or something). Time passed, it is now 12:45, still no one, no text, no call. I'm upset, I just wasted 35 minutes of my life. Received a text message from Michelle on Tuesday apologizing and she offered me free eyebrow waxing. I accepted her apology, but turned down the free wax because I wouldn't feel right taking from a small business owner but asked if she could schedule me in... she said yes, but takes forever to reply. It is now Friday 9:41 AM (remember this exchange happened on Tuesday) she tells me that she has an 11 or 12:30 opening for today or one at 8:30 am tomorrow. I replied within seconds, requesting the 8:30 appointment to have her reply almost an hour later saying that 8:30 am is now booked. Like seriously? I've been nothing but nice & understanding but her lack of professionalism and customer service skills outweighed how talent she might be. Which is why I decided to write this review, hopefully no one has to deal with what I dealt. read more

I LOVE Michelle's work. I had been searching for a permanent eye brow lady years and I was so relieved when I found her. I've been coming to her for a couple months now and she does amazing work! I am in love with the shape of my eyebrows now. She is also very sweet and kind. Her work space is so neat and comforting plus she offers free coffee and candy! Michelle is a miracle worker...like frfr. My brows have been abused by nail shops and subpar threading places, but after a month of letting my brows grow out, Michelle was able to get me all the way together. She takes her time and inquires about the desired look before starting, which I appreciated. Didn't get a before pic and I look a hot mess at the moment, but I will add a pic after my next appt. I used to go all the way to Melrose for brows until I found Michelle. She's thorough with her work. The studio is nice and clean. More expensive than your average nail salon or threading person, but your eyebrows honestly look flawless after seeing Michelle. I love her attention to detail. read more

They actually hurt, and a week later they still don't look right. One eye has shed almost completely while the other is still full, so they're uneven and look worse over time. After two days of trying to reach someone, I finally spoke with the owner, Yvonne, who offered to remove them. I clearly said I did not want Sophie to touch my lashes again. When I arrived, Sophie was the one assigned to remove them anyway. I declined and left. What made this even more uncomfortable was being pressured to leave a review before I even left my original appointment. Sophie handed me a QR code and insisted I write it on the spot, standing over me while I did it. It didn't feel optional, and it wasn't an honest review. Based on my experience, I would not trust the reviews here or return.

The one I went to was a head spa, but a Chinese one. This one is Japanese and has the same features as what I have been reading about in Japan. So they start out with a scalp review, showing you how bad your scalp is. Like last time, I had a lot of buildup. I was offered more treatment for dandruff, dry scalp and didn't take the upsell for more treatment. Then I'm led into a dim room and offered a chair. They add a protective layer so I don't get wet, and cover my in a soft blanket and an eye mask. The process of washing my hair with various water and products was similar as the other head spa, but here my scalp was focused on 90%, whereas the Chinese one did a facial more than my scalp. After the head spa, I paid extra for them to dry my hair. I don't think it was worth the $45 but I wanted to pamper my mom so I splurged. They said they offer hair dryers so I guess you could DIY. 3 head spa with an added blow out came to $495. Tip was paid in cash. My mother commented that her hair felt so soft and luxurious. That's worth the money right there.

As a person who has struggled to find someone who would be able to shape appropriately and not thin, Michelle won my trust immediately. Her attentive care and communication made the experience great. Michelle is the best, honestly she makes your eyebrows look incredible. As soon as I left her suite I received compliments on my eyebrows. By the way her little suite is very clean, and the decor is amazing I fell involve with the color coordination which made the environment feel peaceful and positive. I reached out and Su was kind enough to get me in to fix them a couple hours later. I came in crying and worried my lashes were going to fall out, I was assured it was an easy fix and my lashes would not fall out so we proceeded. In the studio, the fix looked fine, certainly better than before. I was refunded. I think if I had the lash lift with Su originally I would've been pleased with the results and the experience as the studio space is nice. Unfortunately, 2 hours after the fix the lashes started to retain the shape of the first lift again. I reached out again asking what I could do as they had gone back. The text I received back restated what had happened, but did not offer advice. I tried to clarify with a longer description of what was happening and said I was asking for advice. I did not hear from her again. This morning I woke up to my lashes falling out in clumps and the lashes that are left have all broken in half. I'm devastated. I have been getting lash lifts for years and have never had anything like this happen. It is going to take a very long time for my lashes to grow back. I was assured nothing bad would happen in the correction and it was an easy fix. Again, I was refunded, but it's not about the money. My lashes are ruined.

After two days of trying to reach someone, I finally spoke with the owner, Yvonne, who offered to remove them. I clearly said I did not want Sophie to touch my lashes again. When I arrived, Sophie was the one assigned to remove them anyway. I declined and left. What made this even more uncomfortable was being pressured to leave a review before I even left my original appointment. Sophie handed me a QR code and insisted I write it on the spot, standing over me while I did it. It didn't feel optional, and it wasn't an honest review. Based on my experience, I would not trust the reviews here or return.
