For the first time while living in this house, I slept with an outside door open. When I woke up this morning, I did a quick Yelp search for AC service in my neighborhood. Quan Air was the the highest rated and all the reviews pointed out their professionalism. I emailed from the website, then called. I know that's a lot for 7:30 am, but it's humid in SATX and I couldn't stand feeling awful for another night or two. Amber called me back a few minutes later and managed to get us on the schedule today. Andy showed up about 20 minutes earlier than the window, but I'm fine with it because it's 82° with 72% humidity at 11 am. Andy pointed out some maintenance things, this is my first air conditioner. It was helpful to learn all the things to do that will save us money and keep our AC running. He also replaced a motor, rinsed our AC vents, and checked the condensation pans in the attic. He helped me install the replacement filters I found in my closet. Thanks a million for saving us from the humidity.

The got my contact information and told me someone would call me, didn't quiet explain why/when.. Owner called me same day and offered someone to come that evening or following day (Sunday, Father's Day). I told him there was no rush and requested Monday service. Monday I got another call from a third person wanting to schedule service, I told her someone had already scheduled service for me same day. She stated that was odd as I didn't even have a customer profile, but could get the technician in same day. I do want to add.. all 3 people I spoke with very nice. Clara, the technician showed up and she was so knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. She immediately identified the issue and Provided great service and realistic suggestions. He upgraded the furnace venting configuration, installed a new vent cap on my roof, and checked all functions of my system and thermostat. Later I found out that Anthony is the company owner! They checked all the seals and left me feeling perfectly confident in the dependability of my new system. Not much diagnosis is needed from Robert since I'm pretty sure my problem was due to the low Freon. He came out and refilled my Freon for 1/5 the price of the other bigger company (not through home warranty)! Before leaving this review, I read a few of the other 1-star reviews of Dunn Air. I guess the conclusion here is to go with Dunn Air if you need Freon refills, but maybe go with someone else for a true diagnosis. From my personal experience, I give them 5-stars.

They did offer me a service plan for 2 visits for the next year and I initially said I would think about it. This is an unusual trait in service technicians who usually display a "I know more than you" attitude. We found this approach refreshing and very appealing. He spent extra time to diagnose, research, and attempt to find replacement parts, while keeping us informed of his progress. Another company's tech quoted a $1600 job WITHOUT a full diagnostic. Service First provided a full diagnostic (gratis) AND fixed the problem in one call. Outstanding. Like any repair company, shop around...but if you land on Service First you may have a winner.
