To Vicky, I really hope you learn how to have PATIENCE with customers and you learn how to talk to people. I asked nicely if I can have someone else do my nails because you proved to me twice how incompetent you were at understanding what kind of nails I wanted. You disrespected me when I asked if I can change my nail color and shape. You work in a nail salon. That's your job. If you don't like your job; then leave. I really hope you see this message and reconsider your profession. Either take another course on how to do nails or get out of the nail industry. You provide bad service including communication, how you do nails, and how you recommend nails. Also some of us have short nails because we struggle with anxiety. It's 2022, you should not use someone else's anxiety against them. That is the worst thing you can say to a CUSTOMER. Saying that the reason you couldn't excel in your job is because my nails are too short? Tell that to the last 50 nail techs I've been to that have had no problem with their delivery of nails. Point blank period, you should NOT be doing nails. Also, asking customers to back up your work is very unprofessional to use that tactic. It's low and immature. You embarrassed yourself. She also was very rude to her co-worker who wanted to help me. She can't even respect her employees. Vicki I think? If you are really the owner. I hope you see this if you aren't I hope the actual owners see this and remove you from management. Because you really were so rude and you totally ripped me off for $150.00 on the worst mani pedi I've had in a while. I'll start by saying my niece and little sister were with me and both got only a coat of gel polish. They didn't clean, trim, file any of their nail bed or nails. She said it would be $10.00 per each. I have not been to this salon pretty much since Vicki took over. Before her, it was a really sweet couple that were extremely patient and perfected the smallest detail. Any-who. I was in a hurry, and didn't have time to drive out to GranPrarie to my usual tech. So I really regretfully settled for Top Star. I will include pictures of my nails down below(acrylic and gel paint whatever she wanted to do) all ugly and boxy vs the nails I wanted and showed her (natural dip powder short coffin). The picture I took is from day 2 after I left her salon LITERALLY crying. It really looks like I'm due for a fill in already. As for my toes. I really wanted a French tip and because of the horrible customer service and because I just wanted to get out of her chair. I just opted for a coat of gel and called it quits. She walked off with an attitude. Didn't say a word about my cost. Left the other little lady that didn't speak any English to charge me $150.00. So crazy to me because my full set mani was supposed to be $42-$45. My pedi was supposed to be $37? The girls gel coats were supposed to be $10 each. Like where did they get $150. Only reason I'm giving it a two starts was because my pedicure was actually good. Besides that I really wish I would've have read the reviews before choosing to get my nails done. I went 11/23 and asked for an acrylic overlay with an inspo pic, for one she said she couldn't only dip and gel on top. Once she got done she said oh this glitter doesn't stick as well. Seemed like she was in a hurry the whole time because there was another girl waiting. I left told her one of the nails was too bulky and she said I fix and never did, my nails were uneven had a dip where she didn't even file it down to make it even. I went ahead and left with the intention of going back the next day on Wednesday. Turns out they were close with no signage of them closing early for the holiday. This was my first time coming under new management. The inside is completely different. It's modern, spacious, and clean looking. I got a gel manicure and pedi. The quality of the polish is def not what it use to be. After only two days of getting my pedi the polish off of one of my toes came off! I'm a student so 90% of the time I'm in class or studying. I didn't do anything for it to chip only after two days. The gel polish on my nails is a pretty color but it's not consistent throughout my nail. It's kinda thin and see-throughish. I just left Top Star Nails in Fort Worth and once again Vickie has done an amazing job on my nails. Love the color and the designs. Went there for a soak off and instead they ripped my acrylics off which complete destroyed my natural nails. Then had the audacity to charged me like I got them soaked off even though they knew they didn't do the service I asked for. Don't go there extremely tacky and I won't be coming back. read more

You literally will not find better prices than Top Star Nails, or at least I have yet to do so. Sure, it's no thrills - you'll be offered a beverage, but it's not going to be alcoholic like some top-of-the-line salons - but the service here is awesome. I walked in and didn't have to wait at all to be seated. The lady at the front was very helpful and kind and did not pressure me to hurry up as I struggled over what nail color I wanted (if I'm paying for it, I better love it, right?). Lisa ended up giving me a full set of acrylic nails with a gel manicure, and did a fantastic job; the best part was that the entire manicure probably took less than 30 minutes. From what I remember, they offer a student discount, so be sure to bring your student ID in with you if you're a college kid. I think I paid about $30 total for a full set of acrylics with gel polish - $15 less than the nail salon just a few blocks away. Maybe it's not as "aesthetically pleasing" as other more expensive salons, but at the end of the day I just want my nails to look good without breaking the bank, and Top Star Nails delivered. read more

I go here so much and this is the only time they've made me mad. Tracy asked me repeatedly if I wanted my toe nails to get cut and I said no at least 5 times and she proceeds cutting them super short. After she files them to where it's not even filing the nail but my SKIN. I went in today for a polish change. The only GUY working in there painted my toenails. When he was taking off with fingernail polish I had to tell him to please wipe off the Polish again because there were leftover polish on my toenails still!!!! I have never had the worst fingernail polish job on my toenails before.....EVER!!!!! HE CANNOT PAINT TOENAILS GEESH CAN HE DO NAILS.....Hhhhhhhmmmmmm!!!!!!!! Also that was my 3rd time their. Stopped in here one day for a gel manicure after breakfast at Cafe Brazil across the street. Would love to make this my go to place for nails! Only $30 for an amazing gel manicure, great color selection as well. They spend plenty of time working on your cuticles, massaging your arms. The best part is they have a system where if anything happens to your nails over the weekend or whatever, you can come back and they will fix it for you! I went 3 weeks ago to get my nails done. At fist glance the place is a bit drab. I didn't have to wait long which was a plus. They're polite but j I don't feel as though he took enough time filing my nails to make them stiletto, don't feel he took enough time making sure everything was perfect. (I got stiletto shaped acrylics) Then two weeks later when I came back (against my better judgment ) I I had them taken off because I saw a sign saying it would be 5$, at the end of making me wait with my hands under a towel for 20 mins with out being attended too or told what's going on she came and took off my nails. And after I told her not to, she still cut my actual nails really short and filed then down sqaure, and at that didn't file them down correctly , at the end of all this she told me to wash my hands, which is a part of everytime you get your nails done , which is why I assumed they would have newer brushes to scrub your hands. Will not be going back. Worst customer service I have ever had, they treated me like scum and the woman who did my nails rushed the whole manicure. There wasn't even anyone else in line for her to rush my manicure, very rude and all my nails were very crooked. Less than a week later my acrylic nails were chipping, breaking off and lifting resulting in getting caught in my clothes and hair. The new owners really put a lot of time and effort into making this location better than before. They every offer a student discount for 15% for TCU! It's been maybe 5 years since I first started going here and I'm happy with everything about it. If you don't have an appointment and they say it'll be a short wait--it will be, unlike some other nail salons that will tell you it's a short wait when it's going to be 30 minutes or more (which is not a short wait in my books). I get the vinyl lux polish--it's a small upgrade but unlike the gel, dries super quickly and requires so sitting under ultra violet lights. Similar to gel, it lasts a good two weeks for me. I also get waxing done here and completely trust Lisa to always do a great job. Prices are very reasonable; people are friendly. It's not one of the "fancy" nail places but as far as I'm concerned, it's the only place I want to go. I've been coming to this place for several years and frankly, I will admit that I am a super picky person. So, no--this place is not trying to look like the Taj Mahal but personally, I'm not going to the nail salon to be wowed by the atmosphere but to get a good solid mani/pedi that will stand up and look good. Plus this place has the vinylux polish that at least on my nails, stays great looking for 2-3 weeks. When I choose a neutral color, it grows out in a natural way and allows me to get even more wear out of the manicure. It literally never chips and you don't have to put your hands under those light machines and then sit with remover soaking your nails when it's time to change polish. Also--this is the only place I'd even consider having my brows done. The woman who does it is super conscientious about doing your brows the way you want them done. Lastly, as for the reviewers who don't like having their nails done by a man, all I can say is that the man in this shop is super conscientious; he's usually doing someone else's nails when I come in but the times he's done mine, they've been perfect--and he's super fast. read more
