I was SO excited to hear that because every prom dress place I have been to has very few, if any sizes bigger than a 10. I drove 40 minutes to be there. Also, I went by myself because my best friend was busy and my mom is sick and can't leave my house. I arrived and starting looking around and an older black man approached me very rudely and said "excuse me can i help you?????" almost as if i was doing something wrong. so i was really friendly and said "yeah! i'm looking for a prom dress.." blah blah blah. he has another associate help me to go downstairs and look at the dresses. they had MAYBE 5 dresses that i could put on. ONE was a size 16, the rest were size 20+ saying that Joan's is a "PLUS SIZE DRESS SHOP" is absolutely untrue. regardless, i went to try on the 5 that they had. the "dressing room" was SMALL. hard to even maneuver around in.. not only was it small, BUT THERE WAS NO MIRROR IN YHE DRESSING ROOM????? i had to walk out into the big room where several other girls and their mothers were just to see myself. i was so embarrassed considering none of the dresses fit me correctly. THEN- i went to take a picture of my dress to show my SICK mother, who is paying for the dress, and an associate says "no. no pictures, put your phone away" and i said "how am i supposed to show my mom?" she says "wait...... you came alone?" And starts laughing "Yes" "Bring her with you next time, no pictures" So I got dressed in my clothes and left immediately, crying my eyes out. The workers were rude and insensitive, and lied about their dress selection when I called.. October came and went with no communication, so I reached out in November, only to be told they weren't sure why I'd been given that timeline, as the dress wouldn't be ready until January 2026. At the time, this felt manageable since my wedding is mid-May 2026. However, the issues continued. In January, my alterations appointments were canceled same day three separate times with very limited and far out options to reschedule. When I finally had my first fitting, the service was poor and the alterations were done incorrectly, requiring me to return for another appointment. Initially, I was told alterations would take less than a week - but by this point, it was already mid-April, just one month before my wedding. On the phone call before my second appointment (to fix their mistake), I was told my dress wouldn't be ready for another month- meaning the week of my wedding. I even asked about a refund so I could take my dress to be altered elsewhere, but was told that wasn't an option. Then, after finally being able to come in for the appointment in April after multiple calls and speaking to a manager, I unexpectedly was told the dress was actually ready to take home despite multiple prior conversations with different staff members insisting it wouldn't be ready until May. Overall, the experience was disorganized, inconsistent, and disappointing. Communication was poor, timelines constantly changed, and it often felt like no one knew what was going on. I regret choosing to work with them and would strongly recommend that other brides look elsewhere.

I've had off the rack suits last longer. I bought three mid level suits, at over $1100 a piece. The shirts at approx $110 a piece. The shirts are garbage. The order was wrong when I went to pick it up, and the owner offered to sell me more at a discounted price, not to fix the issue. But I'm here leaving a review because, 2 years later, the suits are falling apart. The quality is pretty bad. The fabric was pilling really soon after I started wearing them. The buttons on the pants have fallen off. I was excited to support a local shop like this. But the heavy handed sales tactics and the poor quality of the suits has me regretting my purchase. I won't be a return customer.

Unfortunately, the experience after booking and after the wedding became frustrating, and several important issues were never properly addressed. The first issue was with the package pricing. We only had two guests attending my mom and sister. We were told we had to book the next package tier because the smallest package did not allow guests, which cost about $200 more. During the wedding, Patty mentioned that because we only had two guests, we actually could have used the smaller package with just a small additional fee. However, when I followed up by email afterward asking about this, she denied ever saying that. That was disappointing and felt dishonest. The second major issue involved the photographer. Patti forgot to inform the photographer that we were scheduled, so the photographer arrived about 1.5 hours late. Because of this, many important pre-ceremony photos including dress photos, ring photos, and other moments getting ready had to be taken on a phone instead of professionally. We paid a significant amount for photography, so this was extremely frustrating. The delay also caused the rest of the session to feel rushed. Communication after the wedding was also poor. We were never given updates on when to expect our wedding photos, and I had to send multiple emails asking about them. I was repeatedly told the gallery had already been emailed to me, but nothing was ever received in my inbox or spam folder. It took almost two more weeks of back-and-forth before I finally received the link. Overall, while the venue itself is decent for a small wedding, the lack of communication, scheduling mistakes, and refusal to acknowledge concerns left a very negative impression. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way these issues were handled afterward is why I cannot recommend this venue. There are many better options for couples planning a smaller-budget wedding.

We love having an outdoor and an indoor option. Being able to have the wedding live streamed for our family/friends that were out of town was amazing. We loved that Bendora has options to simplify all the wedding planning. My daughter loved that flowers were included in the package we chose along with a photographer.
