I recently sold my home out by the Lake and bought a townhome near Mahaffie recently, so I decided to look for restaurants close to my new abode. This one is very close to my house and so I decided to go check it out on a Saturday night. It was only 1/2 full when I went in, but during my meal I noticed delivery drivers coming in and out, so I'm guessing the younger generation likes the comfort of their own homes Too bad, the place has a nice ambience and plenty of parking. The food was great, everything seemed fresh and properly prepared, and best of all, the portions were huge. The sides are also good, having had the crab rangoon and egg rolls. The service was very good, very attentive and friendly. No shaming for ordering water, either.at some point restaurants will figure that people are tired of soda pop and the bad health that comes with it, and start offering healthy alternatives. I've been back twice and I can say that this place is a consistent 5 stars.

Well. It was good while it lasted. We dined in for the first time since last year and immediately felt off with the vibes. We were not greeted and we waited over five minutes for drinks and acknowledgement. The staff were different and they prioritized cleaning tables over providing water. There was this putrid sewage smell that made it hard to eat the food The most striking was the obvious treatment of the brown customers such as myself versus the white patrons. They made it clear we were not welcome. Every time we said "Thank you" we were ignored. The food also was not as good as it usually is. It came out five minutes after ordering. It was hot but just tasted off. The staff also checked on other tables but ours. Needless to say, we did not finish our food and we left. It was the quickest dine-in experience we have had in a long while. They also had negative ratings from the health department. We will not be back and we will return to Thai Place in OP.

(to go order) I really liked their mango sticky rice but I did think $11 for a little bit of it was kind of a lot but I don't know what goes into it so im not complaining. The people there were really nice and welcoming and it was a very quick interaction!

Had lunch here. The service is extremely friendly. As a vegan there are options including the vegetable stir fry with extra tofu. Make sure to request with no fish sauce!

I'm so glad there's a Thai restaurant in Olathe now! This place is really really great. Good food, good service, and good prices. Everything I've tried has been amazing- noodles, curry, appetizers are all phenomenal! One of my favorites for sure.

Top to bottom one of the better dining experiences we've had in a while. Both service and food were fantastic. All of the food came out in a timely manner and was extremely delicious. The crab rangoon, veggie pad Thai, topthai spice beef, and the Tom kha soup that was ordered were all some of the best we've had. Not sure if Julia or Jackie, believe I saw both names, but whichever one was our waitress was fantastic. She was super friendly with the little and help make the entire experience a joyous one. Definitely check out this new Thai spot in Olathe!!!

Great food and kind service. Also very clean and near downtown Olathe. Can't wait to try desserts.

We will do a better job of remembering to get Thai food here; especially since it is so convenient to our home. We chose to dine in instead of take out to have that fresh from the oven taste and it didn't disappoint. We thought all the appetizers on the sampler were excellent and filled us up a bit, but that was ok as we hoped to have leftovers the next night for dinner - which we did! I got the Red Curry with chicken and unlike other places there was plenty of perfectly cooked chicken. My husband got the Gapow with beef and my sister-in-law got Gapow with chicken. My husband and I kept eating from each other's entrees as both were desired. The staff were welcoming and with the right timing for attention to our dining experience. If you like Thai Food, I hope you'll come here. They've been around for quite a while and that is a strong testament to their restaurant and food.

We were seated then we order but during the wait the rain stop so we decided to make it to go , pick our stuff and comeback to get our order. So when we get home we reheat everything. But pad thai was totally taste off and beef kinda dry. I normally like the brown sauce pad thai but occasionally did get to the place with red sauce pad thai. But to me this pad thai is just not to my liking. Then the coconut chicken soup it's was so sour and so watery did not taste like coconut and chicken meat also dry. Gave 3* because service was good.

We were looking to try a new restaurant for our Saturday outing and decided on Bamboo Penny's. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that a lot of effort went into making the dining room and bar area fun, attractive, and inviting. Although we were being seated at a two-top, we noticed the bar was wide open and decided to dine there instead. Great choice. The bartenders were engaging, attentive, and very helpful in walking us through the menu. We started with Penny's Combo Fresh Spring Rolls, Thai Spicy Sausage, Penny's Rangoon, and Crispy Egg Rolls. This was a great way to sample several appetizers, and everything was delicious. My partner ordered the Salmon Panang Curry and really enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked just right, the curry had great flavor, and the broccoli paired nicely with the dish. I went with the Tiger Cry Steak, which was a little more hit-and-miss. The Tiger Cry sauce brought plenty of heat along with some really interesting flavors. The glazed carrots were excellent, perfectly glazed with just the right tenderness. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes were over-whipped, giving them a gummy texture. The biggest disappointment was the steak itself. The quality wasn't what I expected, the steak appeared to be a few ounces short of the advertised 12 ounces, and on its own it lacked seasoning and flavor. The intramuscular fat was also quite chewy, making portions of the steak difficult to cut and eat. That said, one disappointing entrée wouldn't keep me from returning. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, appetizers, and Salmon Panang Curry. Bamboo Penny's has plenty on the menu I'd like to come back and try....I'll probably just stick with the non-beef options next time. I think this lands around a 4-star review: clearly a good overall experience with one legitimate miss.
