The cinnamon sticks are amazing? My grandson loves cheese pizza, and he loved the cheese we got. My son and daughter in law had the barbecue chicken pizza, and we needed an option to take off the onion, but there was no way to order it with no onion. I ordered the maui, and wanted thin crust to cut down on the bread part. The crust was hard and way too crunchy. For the price you paid for a small ($15) and the $20 I paid for the barbecue pizza, is way too pricey. We can order way better pizza for cheaper at other establishments. read more

Here is another chain restaurant crossed off my list that is not in NYC. This one is out of Wisconsin with 70 locations in 7-10 states so for. Unfortunately would not recommend Toppers. I have had it one other time and it was actually fairly decent (2 stars instead of 1 because of the other better experience)... hence reasoning for ordering this time while in a pinch during travel. Received the pizza and it barely seemed cooked. It was quite cold in some places, toppings weren't cooked much at all, the cheese was sort of randomly placed around the pizza and was also cold in some places. The overall taste of the pizza wasn't there, either. The only ingredient I could taste was the roasted garlic I added to it, and even that was the slightest hint of flavor. Even the garlic sauce and ranch (on the side) barely tasted like anything. As for the actual store, did not have interaction in there with staff or the establishment as it was a delivery order. Would assume the overall ambiance of the place is ok based on what I've heard others mention about it. Unfortunately do not plan of returning or ordering again - which is a bummer! read more

I found the app and put in an online order pretty easily. Wasn't in a position to drive so opted for delivery. The order actually came before the estimated time (usually that's not really the case). Last minute add was the Topper Stix nacho flavor. Definitely a pleasant surprise and flavor combinations. The fresh jalapeños made for a great level of heat. This is my go to for the national brand pizza. It's fast, tastes great, and doesn't make me regret eating it like dominos and papa johns. I get mushroom, sausage, and pepperoni, which is a good combo. I've also gotten the buffalo chicken pizza which is really good too. I cant really speak to the service or ambiance because I've only ordered this as delivery. I'd choose Topper's over Dominos or Papa John's any day. read more

A great aunt of mine who lives in New Delhi fancies herself a chef. She isn't. She's shit at it. Her husband used to lie about cheating on her so she wouldn't cook for him. My mom, sister, and I used to stay for one night at their apartment before catching flights back home. Sometimes other relatives would pop in when they heard we were visiting. The more people congregating in the house that night, the more likely we were to order in by popular demand. And the less likely my great aunt was to offer her culinary expertise to the crowd. Once, we had to stay for two nights. It couldn't be avoided. Sure enough, on day two, the old lady said she would make a pizza for lunch since, being modern young kids and all, we must be fans of pizza. We were under strict orders to be respectful so we told her we'd love to try it while wondering if we could survive a jump from the tenth floor. We couldn't offend her even if we weren't under any orders. She was so sweet and caring and completely oblivious to the potential of her food as a WMD. She whipped out a few stale pizza plates, shredded cheese that looked like chalk, and ketchup. She fired up a frying pan. A fucking frying pan. I had to look away. As a teenager spoiled by the golden era of pan crusts from Shakey's and Pizza Hut, I was deeply offended. I didn't have the depth of pizza knowledge I do now but even so I knew that a crime of the most unutterable depravity was being committed in my great aunt's kitchen. She came out of the kitchen and placed before us a ketchup-drenched slab (where did the fucking cheese go) with sliced okra on it. My sister looked like her BFF stole her boyfriend AND started dating our dad. I was an idiot back then so I tried to be positive and took a bite. That day alone, 50% of my optimism died. When I told my mom and her sisters, they laughed at us until they were as blue in the face as we were after throwing up that wretched okra piece of shit. They still bring it up today. The okra-ketchup pizza alone would have been reason enough for me to truly savor a well-constructed, old-school pan pizza. I thought they don't make them anymore like they used to in the 90s. They do. At Topper's. Hence this wave of nostalgia, both pleasant and horrific. The sauce is sweet and tangy, with spots bursting through the ample cheese and kissing the underside of the pepperoni. Everything can be ample because the crust is thicker than your New York pizza but very airy and light at the same time. Try as you might, you will not be able to replicate those precise flavors at home. When I bit into Toppers simple pepperoni and sausage pie, I instantly heard "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys playing above me. I was suddenly 30 lbs. lighter and attending someone's birthday party, overseen by their parents. I could see servers wearing zebra-striped shirts and funny little triangular hats. I was home again. They have different types of crust but I would go with what they call the "tall boy." It's their way of saying pan crust and you will not regret it. Even next morning, hell, ESPECIALLY next morning, it was still great cold from the hotel suite's air-conditioner. Thanks, Toppers. You helped me relive a sensory memory that I thought for sure I would never experience again in my life. I didn't order anything, simply just wanted some water, and even in the middle of what seemed to be a very SWAMPED & understaffed night, the gentleman boxing the pizzas, (I didn't catch his name - REALLY wish I had) went above and beyond to make time and help me. Things were very busy and he accidentally spilled some water & fell trying to rush and accommodate me & do all the other things we was doing && even still, after he fell, he was one of the most kind & courteous people I've met in customer service in a long time. I don't know that I could've kept my composure as well as he did tonight. I have never ate at this toppers pizza before, but because of this kind gentleman I will most definitely be back, and will be loyal to this location specifically because of him. I didn't get the gentleman's name, but I am hoping management see's this review and can figure out who this employee is. There were only 2 men working at this location when I went in. It was around 9pm on Thursday night, 9/29/22.
