My wife lived in Columbus, OH for a few years and fell in love with Donatos pizza. In turn, we have ordered from Donatos in Fort Mill a few times since our relocation to Charlotte, NC. Every order (we've only used pick-up) has been hot, fresh, and delicious. The thin, crispy crust and edge‑to‑edge toppings make every bite consistent. Tried Donatos in Fort Mill today for the first time and was quite pleased with my experience. First, I downloaded the Donatos app and placed an order for a 14" large hand tossed sausage pizza and a 14" large hand tossed pepperoni pizza for pickup. Then made the short drive for the pickup. They were ready right on time. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and the person at the counter was very polite. The pizzas were hot, fresh, and delicious. There was a deal on the app for $9.99 each which brought my total to $21.72 (after tax and not including tip). This turned out to be an outstanding value based on the quality of the pizza and easy ordering process. I will definitely return again soon. read more

I've been gluten free the last couple of years and have really struggled to find a good GF pizza. I've missed normal pizza so much! Donatos cauliflower crust pizza was the best I've had BY FAR! It was as good as I remember pizza being before I went gluten free. This will be my go-to from now on and I highly recommend! First time trying Donatos tonight. Came in around 8:10pm on a rainy Sunday evening. Lots of staff working and you could tell they were busy with carry out orders. We'd never been so we picked up a menu from the register and stepped to the side to check it out. To me, customer service lacked a little bit here because as we entered we kind of had to help ourselves. We looked over the menu standing at the front and no one said anything and when we approached the register when ready to order and it took awhile for someone to acknowledge us. As a place that just opened, I think it would be helpful to welcome your customers in, see if they're there to order or for pick up and to ask if they have any questions, Just like a general touch basis with the customer opportunity. Anyways, as we ordered you could tell the young man was still learning the system. Ordered a medium 1/2 pepperoni all mushroom pizza and 2 breadsticks. He kept repeating the order back but was getting it backwards. No worries, everyone is new at one point. There was some confusion to the availability of the breadsticks. At first we were told they were out but after double checking with other staff he came back and said they were available if we just order 2. He entered our order and the total was $20.32. We paid cash. No receipt was offered. We waited inside for the order and it took about 22 min. When our pizza was ready I heard the kitchen tell the cashier that the order for De'Anna was ready and they placed it in the window. The guy at the front never called my name though. Maybe he didn't realize I was inside. I finally just went to go ask for my food. The food was hot. Pizza crispy and breadsticks soft, fresh and served with warm marinara sauce. I didn't care for the taste of the pizza. Although basic cheese and mushroom it had a weird taste. Oniony. My bf had the pepperoni/mushroom side and he described the pizza as bland with no real distinct flavor. He said if it wasn't hot he wouldn't eat it. To sum it up, although I may or may not order their pizza again, the inside was super clean, the staff we did interact with was friendly, the prices are reasonable, the breadsticks were good and the location is convenient with ample parking. You can dine in or take out. They offer sodas, beer and wine. Random observations: -I saw several acts of service recovery while waiting. They ran out of breadsticks and were comping people free pizzas on a future visit and someone got a credit on their account for a different mix up. Went for the grand opening. Very busy but had great service and didn't have to wait long for a table and our pizza. Pizza was great tasting, hot, and fresh. Beer was ice cold and service was friendly. Manager came to our table to make sure everything was OK. Restaurant was clean for as busy as they were. We'll be back for more yummy food! read more

I first heard of Donatos pizza on undercover boss and I've always wanted to try it. My bf recommended it because he said it was so good when he lived back in Ohio way before we met. We saw that they had one in fort mill so we decided to order to go after we got our pedicures done and headed home to Columbia. I saw they had cauliflower crust option which was perfect for me for my keto diet. I got that with pepperoni and sausage and I got my bf and daughter the regular crust with all the meats. We also got some wings with mild sauce since they were oven roasted. When we went to pick the food up, I must say, their restaurant was so clean and spacious. I love their open kitchen concept so customers can see what they're doing. They were very professional and friendly. When we got home, we had to heat up the food since it was an hour drive. But it was so good. The crust had a nice crunch and the sauce, to cheese and topping ratio was perfect. It had a hint of spice and was so flavorful. The wings were good, it kind of reminded me of dominoes but better if that makes sense. I wish we had one in Columbia now lol but I'm glad I got to experience them. We ordered one 14" cheese 'hand tossed' and one 14" cheese 'famous thin'...for $46.45!!! It was delivered warm. As it is with all foods, it's a matter of taste. But neither my 21 y/o son, my wife, nor I liked the taste. The sauce tasted like it was mixed with bbq sauce. And the rest of the pizza was just meh. If you are seeking Pizzeria style pizza typically found in the northeast you will not find it here. They offer something called Columbus-style pizza, a nod to their Ohio origins that includes slices cut into small rectangles. However if you like the taste of Domino's "pizza" this might be the place for you. Bear in mind that a large pizza with one topping will set you back $18.99. Domino's serving size is smaller but in my view a better deal at about $6. read more

This location is the worst. The workers are extremely stretched, unprofessional, and unhygienic. I have seen them wearing blue gloves to prepare food and cleaning up with the same pair. I will never eat here again. The front store cashier( red hair) is so rude, slow to assist and incapable of the work load. She had a meltdown on a customer that had been waiting for 45 extra minutes on an online order that was placed for pick up 45 minutes prior. The lobby is always packed with customers awaiting cold pizzas to match their cold salads, subs or whatever missed item was rung up. Be prepared to wait for all food to be ready in order to get your complete order at once, and the pizza will be cold and scattered about the box. Customer service is never met with a smile, and no one there wash their hands or wear hair nets. Please take the drive over to your local Pizza Hut, dominoes or the frozen section of any grocery store and get a FRESH, and hot pizza for your family, or try another location. Donatos was my favorite place to pick up pizza in Southpark years back, and to hear of the return of business was exciting news to me. However I have given this location 4 tries only to be disappointed each time. I'm taking this as a sign that somethings are better left untouched. Hoping fort mill location catches my drift. Order was wrong, which happens and I was very willing to wait the extra time to make my correct order. However, when I brought it to their attention instead of being apologetic, the manager just got angry and dismissive toward me. In addition my credit card was charged without my permission for extra costs later that night, so I also overpaid for my incorrect order, that I had to wait extra for, after the manager took their error out on me. I have heard similar experiences from others and wanted to defend them but clearly this is a problem at this location. We waited over 45 minutes for our pizza. Idk if this is a common thing with this place, but it definitely wasn't worth waiting that long. Pizza was pretty good, but too much sauce towards the crust. When we had waited 30 min I asked how much longer it would be and only got told "it's in the oven..." I think they could tell we were getting impatient cause they brought us 2 breadsticks that looked like they came out of a freezer box. read more

This establishment has no idea what they're doing. Total chaos. You order a pizza they say an hour and a half and three hours later it's still not started. Drove 20 minutes to Donatos from Charlotte last night (Sunday, 7/28) at 6pm to order a pizza. When we arrived, we were told that "it would be an hour before our pizza would be ready, we're backed up". Really, an hour for a pizza!!!!!! Needless to say, we didn't order a pizza and drove the 20 minutes back home. Over the years, all the Donatos in Charlotte have gone out of business, the Red Robin on 521 doesn't do a good job handling Donatos pizza and now this! Donatos operations just don't seem to do very well down here. It seems like many others commenting on yelp have had similar experiences. Either way, I would suggest the franchise owner spend more time in his restaurant. They really need his help! I won't be going back!!!!!! read more
