Previously had a pizza from them and it was good. Latest order this past weekend was very disappointing. -The Italian sub looked nothing like in the menu. Bread was hard, there was very little meats and cheese, and the lettuce was about 8 small pieces of chopped romaine. -The quesadilla was just two pieces of pizza folded together. Got a sub and some piggy stix and was very disappointed, they use to do their own fresh baked bread and the piggy stix didn't taste nearly as good. I really don't have anything bad to say about this spot! It's your typical dine-in/carry out pizza place, although what surprised me was that their dining area was larger than most pizzerias! It sort of looks like a cafe because of the seating booth arrangements and they even have a little cooler for drinks in the front of the restaurant. I actually ended up getting a pizza from them for free because I had a coupon sent to my house that entitled me to a large one-topping pizza. I asked for jalapeños and cheese, as I didn't want to overcomplicate anything and ask wanted to maximize my chances of not being disappointed- it seemed like a simple enough order. From the time I placed my order to the time I got the actual pizza, it took about 12 minutes and the cheese on the pizza was delightfully gooey and hot. They added a generous amount of jalapeños and that made me pretty happy. Overall, I see what they were trying to do by sending a coupon, which was to let people know how good their food is. This place is also in the cut; it might be easy to miss if you aren't looking around but it's literally the second building to the left from Harris Teeter, right next to this Poppyseed Bagel's place, I think. Love this place, one our go to pizza joints in the areas. Pizza flavor is prob a 7.2 but the price is right, quick and the peeps are great.

I really like this take out pizza. I get the square cut Sicilian style. The crust is always crispy and never doughy like some think crust pizza can be. I also love their cinnamon sticks dessert pizza. It puts other desert pizzas to shame. I like to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream! read more

I got a small round cheese pizza and bambino sticks (which you can do a half order that's not on the menu). The pizza was good, the breadsticks were delicious! I was visiting a friend in a nearby town and was excited to get pizza from Papas as our neighborhood location on Montford Dr. in Charlotte recently closed. Came home to see that the cheese pizza was fine - skimp on the cheese but fine, and the veggie pizza was burnt. Called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who was incredibly rude and refused to acknowledge that their pizza could be burnt. Simply stating they cook their pizzas "well-done." He said he could make me another one - however, I live 30 mins away - to which he responded, "well I can tell you I'm not delivering it." He offered to put it on my account for next time. Needless to say I'll never be going there again. The staff at the Charlotte location were always amazing. The pizza tasted a ton better. Sadly, you've chosen to close the wrong location! read more

This has been a staple at our house for years! Brandon (owner) always did a great job and was very reasonably priced. He sold the business about a month ago. First time we ordered after the change I went to pick up and met the new owners. Nice enough people and the main thing I told them was that they had a great thing and just don't screw with it......Well apparently they weren't listening!!!! Not that the food is bad now but there is something about it that's just not as good. Subtle change but hey, this place was the Friday night ritual. We figured we'd stick it out. Ordered again tonight though and unfortunately it will be the last time. Our typical order even last week was $21.23. Tonight when ordering the exact same thing as usual we paid $29.32. THATS NEARLY A 40% PRICE INCREASE!!!!! I was talking to the kids that work there and I really feel for them. They were so apologetic about it but they all seemed to realize exactly what was happening. 40% PRICE INCREASE!!!!! THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!! Doesn't look like we will be back again. We've been to Papa's several times in the past decade. The pizza is okay and the pricing is lower than more upscale pizza places. Papa's is rarely my first choice for pizza, but they get the job done. I'd say that Papa Johns has taken a half step ahead of Papa's Pizza in the past few years such that going to Papa's for me tends to be more a matter of proximity than preference. Nineteen out of twenty times when I need to do takeout, I'll do Papa Johns over Papas even though they are roughly equidistant for me. As a family owned firm, I want to like Papas more but I can't just quite get there. read more
