This one was good but it lacked the flavors I'm used to. The fries were great, fried hard and no soft and limp. the only reason that I am giving 2 stars is because the food was decent. They refuse to give itemized receipts and will not give correct change. If they don't want to stock up on pennies then they need to adjust the prices so you don't short your customers. When entering the building they were simi busy. I mindful of that an stood at the cash register to wait for my order to be taken. The lady turned and looked at me and went back to what she was doing without saying a word. After about 3 to 4 minutes she said if you have a credit card you can just place your own order at the self serve. I went to the kiosk and started to look through, I did not see an option for a combo so i ask as each item was coming up more costly than a combo. She said yeah its on there but idk just wait and ill just take your order. Seeing she was annoyed i just went and ahead and placed the order paying more. When my order finally came out i took my order to go. I pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road and began to eat my fries. Sadly they were cold and tasted like the oil they were cooked in was old and uncleaned. I then began to eat my burger and it tasted awful! Needless to say I tossed the meal and enjoyed the one good thing from Tops, the coke. I am normally a fan of Tops but this is the second time I have went and the food was awful and the customer service was also. I will not be returning to Tops! The food is consistently outstanding and hot. The hamburgers taste like a back yard cookout! Minimal wait especially when you can literally see them making your food, well worth any wait. We ordered a family pack to go when we left church. The food was ready to go when we arrived about 20 minutes later. The pulled pork was a delicious as usual and the beans seemed to be especially tasty this time round. The cashier was friendly and prompt and the restaurant was very clean and inviting. Secondly, the food was good, it has its own sauce more vinegar based not sweet . However it is good. Tops is a Memphis oldie. The have been around for decades and have been serving almost the same thing the whole time. They just recently in the last couple years reached out to Beef Brisket and Ribs. There main focus was always pulled pork and there majorly underrated burgers. While growing up I was accustomed to this place over off of Quince and Getwell. We used to go and get BBQ from them all the time. My Dad loved the place! This location is fair to sub par as far as service is concerned. I wouldn't come in looking to be impressed by ambiance or basic human courtesies. It's more of a look down and get some "pretty good BBQ" to eat. I like everything they have most of the time as a weekday meal for the family. Ribs are good 8.68 times out of 10. Pulled pork is mostly dry and I avoid it most of the time. Brisket is ok. Placed an online order that included 2 lbs. bbq. @ $25.98. Got home and had 2 small drink cups of meat. I have ordered this before from here and other bbq restaurants and have always gotten 2 large drink cups. I called and was told to come back up and they would give me the rest. When I got there I was handed 1 small cup. I pulled away and called 2 more Tops locations and they told me that 1 lb. comes in the large cup. I then went in and relayed the information. We are huge fans of Tops bbq and literally grew up eating it. Today, we went to the Olive Branch location and the service was beyond terrible. Rude workers with terrible attitudes. We ordered 2 jumbo pork sandwiches and the buns were not jumbo and neither sandwich had sauce. One sandwich was ordered with no slaw due to an allergy, but yet lots of slaw was put on. We went back due to the slaw issue and no sauce and was handed 2 packs of sauce. When asked about correcting the wrong sandwich, the attitude was terrible. New sandwich was made with no slaw and very little sauce. So disappointing. Will not be returning. read more

Not horrible but there are better options for Memphis BBQ. I suspect this place does well being right across the street from a busy truck stop. Jumbo pulled pork sandwich was a bit skimpy and I tasted no smoke flavor on the pork shoulder which made me wonder if the place even has a pit and smokes their meats. Looked this place up online before a roadtrip through the area, it came up on the top of several "best BBQ in Memphis" lists so we planned to stop in and try it. Us girls love us some BBQ. SO GLAD WE DID. I texted my husband after the first bite 'life changing BBQ just outside of Memphis, TOPS!" Such a good juicy pork sandwich with what can only be described as the tastiest BBQ sauce I've ever had. I can't even put my finger on what was in there, it was different, but somehow better than anything I've ever tried. The meal comes with 2 sides and a drink for a steal. Would have been a 5 star affair but lost that last star because the beans were just an 85%, not the full 100% the sandwich earned. I also would have enjoyed a little background music, it would have made the dining room a little more comfortable. The order is never ever correct. I do not know why I keep going back. The bbq isn't even good anymore. They put way too many fat pieces in it and it has been dry the last few times I have ordered it. The customer service is terrible as well. I would go to a different location but would not go to the Olive Branch location if at all possible. I drive thirty minutes out of the way for tops and the Olive Branch location is literally 5 minutes from my house. I refuse to go here. read more

I had to get a lot of food fast and I drove up asked if I could get the 12 party pack. The lady on the drive thru was kind, prompt and efficient. They work hard and got my food right out.
