I haven't traveled around their menu, so to speak, but the items I get, I keep getting more. For these items, so far they are the best in the general area of New Kent, Charles City and Quinton area. Fried rice is always on point, I like I can order fried rice spicy and it is perfect heat level for rice (for me). I also get the chicken sticks, 5 for 6.95, these are my treats as I drive home with the rest of the food. The Boneless Spare Ribs for 11.95 are very good (aka Char Siu BBQ Pork) I also had an order once of the orange flavored chicken, this was also on par with other places I have eaten outside Virginia. I now keep a menu on my fridge. They do not deliver and door dash doesn't carry them ;-( Besides do I really want to pay an additional $20 just for my fried rice and chicken sticks?! Since moving to New Kent a year ago we had been wanting to find a Chinese restaurant close to us that we could just run to when the craving hit. This place hits the spot! Of course our favorite is General Tso chicken! My hubby loves their steamed dumplings. The portions are large. The staff is friendly and service is fast. read more

The restaurant was very clean. I just moved here and discovered this place is a little less than 10 minutes away. My boyfriend and I thought the food was fantastic. The wonton soup is great and my man said it's some of the best general tso's he ever had. Will definitely be coming back! read more

19.03.31 A very forgettable lunch two days ago. I requested, to go: Spring Rolls Egg Roll Hot & Sour Soup Pork Lo Mein The man took my money and gave me change. On the counter I noticed the usual packets of Soy/Mustard/Duck. Ten minutes later, my food came up; the same man put the bag on the counter. saying, "Your order's ready." No smile, no thanks, no "kiss my ass." Just "Your order's ready." Picking up my food, I also picked up 2 packets of Mustard. At home, I went for the Spring Rolls first. Very good Spring Rolls without condiments. Even better when paired with Fish Sauce from my fridge. On to the Egg Roll. One packet of Hot Mustard. Wow! The Egg Roll was very good, and the Hot Mustard was very hot. I wish all Chinese restaurants had mustard that hot. Next up is the Hot & Sour Soup. I ladled some from the carryout container into my own bowl. Then went for the packet of Crispy Noodles. Major disappointment. The noodles had been purchased from a food service company. Had I known that in advance, I would not have ordered the H&SS. Then the Pork Lo Mein. I added my own Tamari Sauce, and enjoyed every bite of the PLM. But there was nothing to distinguish it from the PLM in a dozen other Chinese restaurants within the same distance. Not too much to say other than this is a solid choice for cheap take out Chinese. And it's a mere quarter of a mile off of I-64. I've gotten take out twice and both times have ordered shrimp lo mein. The small portion is just enough and is delish! Plus the price is on par with your standard chain. The people who work here are always friendly. I'll likely come back as it's easy on/off 64, solid take out food, reasonable prices and friendly service. read more

I stopped at the Exxon to fill up the tank on a long car trip, and my choices were pizza, Dairy Queen, or Top's. I opted for Top's thinking it would be just as quick, but more enjoyable than a DQ inside a gas station. Good call on that one! I think I may have been an exception rather than the norm by eating in rather than getting takeaway, but the alternative was eating in my car, so... yeah. Not a lot of room to sit but I was the only one there so it was fine. The food was ready quick, and delicious. I had the Happy Family and it was great. Prices were exactly in the range you'd expect. Unfortunately I probably couldn't find New Kent, VA again if I tried, but if you're a local, I think you should try them out! read more

Good Chinese-American food at a great price. Quick and friendly service. The kids loved their shrimp lo mein and orange chicken, and I love that the combo plates had lots of veggies. My Szechuan chicken sauce tasted more like a generic brown Chinese sauce, but the chicken and veggies were delicious. They do take-out, too, but we sat at 7 of their 16 chairs inside. read more

Tops China will not be seeing me again. We went for a quick lunch July 19th. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice. The food came quickly and was just okay... nothing special. As I went back up to register to ask for hour sauce I saw the man reach into a container with his bare hands for rice and then again for vegetables. BARE HANDS! This was in open view of anyone walking in. I immediately put my food in the trash. I watched him wipe his hands on his shirt, wipe sweat of his forehead and then sit down to eat. Never saw him stop to wash his hands or use gloves. NASTY. Never again will I set foot in that place. read more

We have lived in this neighborhood for almost 7 years. A little over 2 years ago we stopped going to this restaurant, it was dirty, there was a young child about 9 who was taking orders and cashing out but he had no customer service ability. The food was horrible time after time. Lots of discussion negative discussion on Next Door. About a month ago went back to see if they had improved. There were two teenage boys waiting on customers very personable, the place was cleaner, the food was horrible. Order a dish that had Chinese Noodles and got spaghetti, the Italian place is next door if I wanted spaghetti. The Eggs rolls and Shrimp toast were dripping in grease and when opened filled with crease. I posted this on Next Door but the Administrators took it down saying no negative reviews the owners live in the community. Last weekend someone else posted about the wings they received and how they had been recooked a couple of times. When he took them back for a refund the young kid now about 10 was again their font end person and said wings are expensive. Again, this post was also taken down. DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT. I understand these are my neighbors but I am a paying customer and their first greeter is a young kid that does not want to be there. Then the food and it has not gotten better in 7 years! read more

Don't even waste your time. Horrible customer service and RUDE owners. Slipped in and got take out. Got home to find I did not receive all the good that I paid for. I called and she said if I come tomorrow she would replace my meal. No charge. That's nice. Right? NOT!! Hubby drove 10 miles to get replacement and since he came back the night if they would only give him the gravy that was missing. Makes no sense but their rules. Food was mediocre for sure. read more

Horrible service and attitude. We walked in and the order taker (female) was texting on her phone instead of taking our order. Then she proceeded to answer the phone instead of taking our order. Did not say thank you when we left. When we finally arrived home with our takeout order, it was wrong because there were only 3 orders instead of 4. We called back to have them correct it, and she refused even though she was the one who wrote it down wrong - clearly we have ordered 4 meals because there were 4 people. She had the gall to tell me I had ordered incorrectly. Will never go back again despite being customers since 2009! Beware of this place... To keep it short, my wife placed a pick up order for General Tao's chicken with no hots or onions. I picked it up and got it home to find onions all through it. My wife CANNOT handle them. I took it back and almost had an argument with the woman working there because she kept telling me that they were ONLY small pieces of onion. She finally agreed to fix a new order. When she brought it to me, I poped the top and did not see any. Got home and my wife discovered onions all through it and that they had picked the onions off the top and gave us the same order back... She was not happy.... Be VERY wary of this place if you have food allergies you might get more than you want........ They do not have to worry about our business again....... read more
