I love this Tops. Its very nice, and spacious. Very clean also. The produce section is okay, not as good as it could be, maybe if i go early enough it would be better. There are better bananas at wegmans on dick rd and they are 10 cents cheaper there at wegmans too. Tops is really great and really understands the savings card aspect of shopping. We don't shop at TOPS much, though when we do come here, it is to use their Cafe. As its Lent, we decided to order our fish fry from here. We have done this for the last few years. After trying fish fry at almost every place in the area, the one from Tops is a favorite. We love the batter, the consistency, the quantity, the price, the convenience, and the service. I also trust their cleanliness. As with everything else recently, the prices of a fish fry keep creeping up. That being so, this is one of the most affordable places to get a fish fry. Every other department has visible employees to help you. I stood at the bakery for over 20 minutes to place an order. I then head up front to ask someone there if they could use the intercom to call someone back there, I receive no response other than an eye roll. She calls someone on the intercom and I head back there to wait for an additional 10 minutes. Waste of time. read more

Former employee and I'm not recommending ANYBODY to work there because even though some employees are friendly all the managers and higher ups besides 2 are inconsiderate bullies and don't care about anyone or anything besides themselves and what makes them look good. This goes all the way to the top. Especially the overnight manager Sara is one of the worst and even though she pretends to care she really doesn't. She'll turn around and stab you right in the back. I'm not really a big Tops person, but this location is convenient and open 24 hours. They also still have plastic bags to collect for garbage can liners, before the new law goes into effect. The store is clean and offers products that you can't find at Wegmans, since they basically only have Wegmans brand items. I like stopping here every once in a while to see what other products name brand items are offering. The prices between Wegmans and Tops are about the same depending on what you get. This store is the bigger than the store on Harlem. It can get quite busy here, but they do pretty good dealing with the crowds. The prices are on par with the other grocery stores in the area. They have a Citizens Bank and a atm station outside in the huge parking lot, not sure what bank it's with though. read more

This is a large Tops with a huge and easy parking lot. In the plaza where Union and George Urban Blvd cross. I really only come to Tops regularly for a few things: Greek yogurt Tomatoes Bulk raisins Bananas Occasionally other veges On those fronts this Tops was A-OK. read more

Stopping by for a quick bite, I notice some items not available at home like Sierra Mist and a few specialities that make a visit here in upstate NY worth it. Oh Tops, I used to live across the street from here and it's a pretty average grocery store nothing too great, nothing too bad. On the day I visited lines were out of control and there were all of two cashiers on a Saturday morning which is kind of unforgivable. The employees seemed pretty overwhelmed but it isn't their fault when staffing isn't done properly. Despite that, the store seemed to be clean and well stocked and nothing else of interest really happened. Unfortunately, most stores just can't measure up to how good Wegmans is and this is yet another example of how staffing, and a little extra time and care could go a long way towards customer retention. read more

Only come here because it's convenient and I must say it is cheaper than Wegmans. Produce section can never measure up and their customer service is like any other place. Nothing notable. What I really want to write about is their meat. I came in for chicken. It was buy 1, get 1. There were only 3 of those types of chicken and the remaining 2 were disgusting. 1 was even open. Gross. I ended up paying $14 for 3 breasts even though I could have gotten 6 for that price. These types of experiences pushes me to shop more at Wegmans for the great customer service and food, even if it is more expensive. Step up your game Tops. read more

When comparing grocery stores, Wegmans, Trader Joe's and the Lexington Co-op are always going to get a thumbs up from me, and more often than not, I'll give Tops a thumbs down. I only come here for items I can't get elsewhere, or for deals that are just too good to pass up. The store isn't as clean as I would like, and I once encountered a frozen vegetable case that was downright filthy. Wish I'd taken a photo. I've found moldy vegetables on more than one occasion. The recycling area is always a mess. Always. There never seem to be enough small carts in the store, so I've learned to grab one in the parking lot on the way in. The cashiers tend to be slow and sullen, with the exception of one in particular (who I won't name here, as much as I'd like to) who seems to think her customers are interested in knowing her personally and tends to jabber on about herself while scanning your groceries. And I recently witnessed her rant about how much she hates their Monopoly game. OMG, soooo unprofessional! Hardly a month goes by that I don't get overcharged, so if you do shop here, check your receipt. And when you need a rain check (which is way too often), even if you know every detail of the item, they still have to page through the ad and find it for themselves. Would it really be so difficult to keep track of the specials you're out of and be prepared to issue rain checks for them? Displays are constantly being moved. Scavenger hunts can be fun, but I don't enjoy having to go on one looking for the Bridgford pepperoni that last time was right here, but... hmm. Wonder where it is now... Good luck finding someone to ask. And if you do, they won't know anyway. Speaking of moving - whose brilliant idea was it to put the Redbox right in the main entrance thoroughfare??? read more

While I am mainly a Wegmans shopper due to their superior selections, Tops tends to have far better daily deals and discounts. They also offer Panera Bread brand products and I just love their soups. Especially their lobster bisque. I frequent the Broadway/Depew and Union Rd/Cheektowaga locations. read more

I don't need much from my local supermarket, all I ask is when you advertise something in your ad and it doesn't ring up correctly you honor it. My son and I drink propel unflavored water, on sale $10 for $10, shelf said $1.59 and water rang up $1.79. Whoever Vicki is told me that only the propel fitness water is included, it's all propel fitness water. Then she tried to tell me that it's only the flavored water, but no where in the ad does it says ONLY INCLUDES FLAVORED WATER VARIETY. Customer service at this store is terrible and I won't be back, again I will be taking the $400+ in groceries that I buy monthly to the Depew, NY location. read more

Not a bad little store! I live equal distance from both Tops and Wegmans and have been stepping into this location more recently. My daughter wanted birthday cake flavored ice cream for her party and we tried 3 other stores but found it at Tops! The other day I stopped in and while looking at a display of foaming hand soap, an employee stopped to tell us they were buy 2 get 1 free. The display didn't have its signage up yet and when I asked how much it was she took the time to go check for us, Last night I had a grocery list that I was determined to adhere to and they had every item I needed, and just about everything I wanted was on sale plus we now have a discount on a gas purchase listed on our receipt. The store was pretty clean and I was able to find things fairly easily. Nice little store. read more

It has the prices of a pricey store, except that its produce is very poor. I have found numerous rotting fruit and vegetables, plus out of date stuff. The Pro is that the store was clean and stocked. The Con was that some of its people really need to be trained in the deli dept. plus they have to check all rotting/overripe produce and their out of date stuff. . To reduce waste they can to take it before it is way overrotting and make a dish of it. . They do not seem to care much about its customers or how they keep things. As a (usually) loyal Wegman's shopper, I am almost ashamed to write this review...almost! I stop in this Tops when I " don't need much" which almost always translates into 16 bags of things I didn't know I needed!...Anyway the store is on the quiet side so big plus there! The prepared food is gross, they don't even package it in a way that makes it look appealing so skip on over to Weg's if you want a cooked meal. I do appreciate the wider variety for some items but not that they run out of a lot of items and the store isn't as clean as I would like. Avoid the self checkouts. I have always been against them, I feel they take jobs away from people but holy heck sometimes the lines at Tops are into the aisles, man! But those self checkouts are the devil. Scan one item and before you can get it into the bag the machine is yelling at you! Do this, do that! Bzzzzz Not fast enough! Wait for cashier...blah blah blah! I have enough stress at my own job that I don't need to come here and work for free. So yeah check out their 85 brands of croutons, stay away from scanning your own stuff and skip the prepared foods and it's all gravy, baby! read more

Carryout cafe has customer servi is horrible. So many times waiting far longer then the told time. So many time with that short older lady being an @$$ making it seem like my buying something is bothering her. I hate this tops So much that I am refusing to shop the rest of the store. So many tops near by that the repeated horrible service I receive from this store is not worth my time or money. read more
