Despite the rest of my friends talking trash about Tops, trying to convince me to shop at certain big name stores that shall not be named, I still come for the mediocre experience that is Tops. I'm not going to say that it merits its name, but if you use your noggin and nose for bargains, you can find them. I tend to enter by produce so that I can scope out the rack to see what has been marked down. I tend to get lucky for a bag of minorly marred apples, though stick on a glove (this is still germaphobe time) and fondle the fruit to check for quality. Some of that stuff is toeing the line. I've found bakery, frozen and grocery reductions as well, sometimes displayed at the other end of the store, sometimes right where they belong in the store before mod changes. There always manages to be someone hogging the bottle return machines out front when I want to turn in my cans, though I suppose if you have better timing than I do, this could be considered a perk as well. I only ever used the self checkout here. The machines are temperamental, and to be honest, so have been a few of the employees. That's not to say that they all suck, as there are a few friendly ones that make a point to smile (I think, it's hard to tell with the mask) and say hello. And btdubs, the loo is by the cafe in front, just in case you're that weirdo that reads reviews to find out about access to the toilet while picking up your buy two get two tater chips. read more

Of all the TOPS in the area, I like this one as one of the best. Their cafe is nice and I like that they have a seating area. Though it is right infront of the bathrooms which is a little weird. The store seems pretty clean and doesn't have a weird smell like most of them do. There is plenty of parking available but getting into the parking lot can be kind of tricky due to the way the road was designed. Tops is Tops, right? I needed to bring a dessert to a party-last minute. Stopped inside because I always see they have themed/holiday/football whatever cakes/cookie cakes up front, was going to grab one of those and call it a day BUTTTTTTTTTTT I decided to just check out the bakery. They had the most wonderful/cutest/designed cupcakes-grab and go. I would assume cupcakes looking like this would have to be preordered-Nope, they were just in the case. I got 2 dozen cupcakes ($27.99), Reese's/ with a Reese on top. Oreo/ w/ an Oreo on top!, the 6 vanilla had a cute butterfly on each cupcake and the chocolate had what looked like little pearls. If it were Trips, you'd be falling over yourself to come here. This Tops seems too often be out of the things that I need. I usually come for kale and oranges. I do like that it's open super late though and it's not too difficult to get to off of Highway 290. They have their own gas station. But then so does your mother. Well maybe not, but she definitely has pumps and knows how to use them. It's easy to fill up at her place. read more

I went there on my lunch today to get stuff for dinner around 12:20 pm . I was checking out at easy scan and an employee came who worked behind the counter somewhere like deli meat or bakery I'm not sure. He has a beard and long hair so I wouldn't want him serving food anyways. ANYWAYS he stopped a paying customer to accuse him of stealing a 2 dollar SODA even though he came from easy scan and then got his manager involved the customer asked the employee at easy scan where he was and she was able to name how he paid and where he was so they let him go and then yelled at the employee for not putting a pay sticker on the soda. IN MY 30 years Of shopping at tops I've never seen anyone really use though pay stickers. Even when I worked there 10 years ago management SUCKED and it still sucks. That employee had NO RIGHT to accuse a customer of stealing a 2 dollar beverage as if it was coming out of his own paycheck. That employee should be written up or fired for how he treated that customer and HIS COWORKER who I see working hard everytime I go there! There's a reason why this place has 2 stars and to me this is it. That dude isn't a security guard he should be more respectful. I recently purchased their BOGO items of ground beef only to find actual bovine furs when I thawed out lb pkg . I had to throw it in the garbage & loss due to this. I still have 2lbs in freezer & most definitely going to take back. This was so disgusting not to mention how upsetting for me. I will not purchase any meats from them any longer. I've purchased prepared wings in the past & they too were very disgusting as they were loaded with feathers. I would just like to know if the health department should step in on their shadiness that can most Definitely put people in a health risk by this carelessness? Please if your seeing this pass it along to people you know that shop for meats in these stores. They really think that their above the law but let me just say I don't pull any punches. read more

Tops has really stepped up there pizza game!! New and improved recipe fresh tasting ingredients. Has that homemade taste that i love !! Plenty of cheese and for the price it is some of the best pizza around in my opinion. read more

This Tops has been here forever and when in in the area I'll stop here happily. Easy parking and usually not too crowded. The vege section here is nice and restocked throughout the day. They have a large organic and gluten free area next to the bulk goods. There's an area for eating premade food that gets some regulars and some others throughout the day. Clean restrooms. read more

It's no secret that I favor Wegmans over Tops. I'd say sorry, Tops, but they actually still receive a decent amount of business from me. I like this store for the reason that it never seems to be very busy despite a steady stream of customers. If I am on my way home from work and need to pick up a few random items for dinner, I like that I can find a close parking spot, and run in and be in and out quickly. Will I ever choose to do my weekly shopping here? Probably not, but I'm super grateful this store is here when I need a cucumber and some salad dressing at 6pm on a Tuesday. read more

This Tops is hardly ever busy but the produce is never fresh and flies are always crawling on them. They also have a problem with expired products. Last time my gf and I went shopping, we found deli meat, bacon and packaged avocados that were all expired. At least 4 expired items in each category. The deli meat had been expired for over 2 weeks! We report the expired products and nasty produce every time we see them but things don't seem to be getting better. They either have a shortage of stockers or just plain don't care. read more

for 14 and a half years My household has been frequenting this store at least 5 times a week shopped in there tonight and was publicaly humiliated by a store employee and managers. I drove a disabled person there to,buy groceries and a beer. I did not have my I.d. It turned ugly .they let me buy lotto tickets but refused to sell them beer? said I was just driving him there as it was so icy out.I am well beyond obvious legal age. Problem was how they handled it. I am ashamed to say how it was handled. I do not think I will ever get over that. It is sad that a so called community store treats consumers so poorly. Shopping here has been the worst experience of my life. I've been shopping at tops for years but I have never been to a location as disgusting as this one. The minute you walk in your greeted with uncomfortable stares and looks. They don't even bother to say hello and they look at you as if you don't belong or shouldn't be shopping there. Although I only live 5 minutes from this location I'd rather take the longer drive and go to the elmwood location because they know how to treat their customers. I've experienced this sort of thing on multiple occasions at this store. I make very good money and should have just as much a right to shop here as anyone else. These people need to be retrained on how to treat people from ALL walks of life and every culture it's so disgusting you can see the hate in their faces. It makes me so uncomfortable and I won't ever shop at this location again. I hope they close this location down. Not happy at all read more
