I thought this was a good place at one point. So I told my son to apply for a job. He was hired and there were no complaints from either side until he was scheduled off on Christmas eve by his manager. Apparently the manager for the front cashiers ( not his boss ) wrote him a note asking him to work that day. We've already made plans and you ask, not write notes. He didn't work on his schedule day off so they fired him for 1 no call no show. I dont understand how you can fire somebody on their day off but not fire a manager who has been caught at least twice we know of looking at porn by a minor. That is uncalled for. If my son had any other issues at work they didn't like they needed to talk to him about it instead of look for a way to fire him. Yes it was 1 day after Christmas they did that. read more

Put up a garage door, bought the door and lock at Menards, needed another lock for the door didn't want to go all the way to Anderson so decided to "shop local", that's what you do in a small town right? Support local business. The lock I purchased at Menards was $5.49 however my "local" (Tops) hardware store charged me $17.99!! I find that appalling ! I used to do a lot of business at Tops until one of the managers there tried to convince my 16 y/o daughter to run away from home and gave her $100 to do so. Then this person removed my fliers for my business from their community board. I called Tops corporate office. They demoted this young man and he eventually quit! The first time I went back in afterwards, no issues. The second time I went in, I needed some parts for one of my customers. I go back to the wire and find the wire I needed. I measured 20' out and cut it. I proceeded to look for my other parts. An employee passed by and asked if I needed help. I said, "no sir, I have it under control." He then asks me if someone cut the wire for me. I said no, I cut it myself. He got hateful instantly! Telling me he now has to measure it and that there's a sign back there saying customers are not supposed to cut their own wire. He acted like I was trying to steal $6 worth of wire! I told him I didn't see a sign nor was I looking for one! I tried several times to hand him the wire. He wasn't interested in the wire only in giving me a hard time! I kept telling him either take the wire and measure it or leave me the hell alone! He just kept wanting to argue and belittle me! He then started yelling at me across the store! I called corporate again when I left. That was 3 weeks ago and still no return call! I still needed the wire for my customer. I called and talked to an assistant manager (manager was unavailable). I believe his name is Paul. I told him what happened. He said that the guy was their best worker and best with customer service, the whole time making excuses for this guy acting like that! I told him to have my wire ready, that I'd come pay for it and that'll be the last of my business there! I spent around $10k/ year there with my business and personal projects. They've made it more than clear they don't want my business over $6 worth of wire! How do you think they'll treat someone who doesn't spend as much a year there? read more
