    Vegan tacos
    Crystal M.

Perfect location near petco park. Fun and busy. Friendly staff. Mid-level food. I got the cauliflower tacos vegan no cream and bbq on the side. I don't like to drown my food in sauces , I like spices flor flavor. Sadly, the cauliflower was bland with no spice , no flavor, no salt or zest. Kale slaw was good. Black beans were also good as they had jalapeño which gave it heat. Overall, I would not recommend for food. Just go for drinks, maybe appetizers too.

Stopped in here late night on our first day in San Diego!! We were looking to grab a quick bite somewhere, close to where we were staying, and watch the World Series. We sat at the bar, plenty of TV screens throughout this place. I ordered the Caesar salad and added salmon to it, it was just ok. We were here more for the baseball game than the food anyway. It was late, so the place was practically empty that night, but it's located in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter, and with the bar area being halfway outside, this is probably a pretty popular place!!

Came during the off-season on a cool Friday night, so the place was really empty. Service was really friendly and left us alone mostly. I do appreciate how they filled up the waters fairly regularly. We started off with the ceviche, which was good but didn't seem quite as fresh. I created a nice bowl by adding in pork and salmon. While it was good, I was disappointed that it was a small portion, not as seared crispy outside, and raw inside as I had requested so it was a little dry. The pork was a little salty as well. Overall, it was good, but nothing exceptional. We were originally planning on going to Baja Rick's but it closed early and confuse the blind burro with Baja rock'n lobster!?! so many options here!

Guacamole was almost completely gone so you know it was good. They do refill the chips but not the guac

One of my favorite places to grab a bite in the area. Parking can be a challenge if you are driving, but that's downtown for you. The restaurant is pretty spacious and usually when i come, they are fairly busy during lunch. This time we got seated quickly for our group of 4. Like a lot of restaurants are doing nowadays you won't get free chips and salsa, but they are on the menu to order. Two of the people in my group ordered the enchiladas and they both said they were really good and their plates were completely wiped clean so I believe them LOL. We ordered chips and guacamole for the table, they refilled the chips but not the clock of course. It was pretty solid as far as far as guacamole goes, I order it again. I personally got the surf and turf tacos with the elote in a bowl. Normally I do not like elote in a bowl I only like it on the cob, but this is really good and I would definitely order it again. The servers were very nice and accommodating. Parking can be a challenge during busy times as it's in the Gaslamp so either Street parking, or a lot if you can find it. Unfortunately with the new parking rules, if there is a special event going on the meters will be $10 an hour.

We were headed to a concert at Petco and wanted to grab a few drinks beforehand and an appetizer. This was the least busy place out of all the spots around--and now I know why. We sat down, and it took quite a while for us to be attended to. The place itself looks good: not outdated and kept clean. However, the drinks were lackluster. We ordered a margarita, a Stone Buenaveza, and another fruit-based drink. The beer was nice and cold, but the other two cocktails were not good at all. We also ordered the "Queso Chorizo Fondio," and it was completely flavorless--not worth the calories. I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but if that's how a starter is, we won't be coming back for the main dishes. If you're in the area and just want some beers, this place is fine. For anything else, I'd suggest looking elsewhere--even waiting to get seated somewhere else would probably be worth the time.

Stopped in to get some food before an even at the stadium and im glad we did. At first when I walked in, it was a bit crowded but lively and looked like people there were having fun. The server took me to a table in the very back where a man was blocking me from getting in.. she asked him to move and he refused and they both looked at me so I just told her I'll wait for a table to get cleaned. She apologize and so did I but not anyone's fault the other costumer was entitles.. he was also with a child so of course I didn't make a fuss. When I got seated I ordered a strawberry margarita and the street tacos with carne asada. The tortilla was a fresh made one, a little more greasy than I'd like, the carne asada was tender, had great marinade and little chard pieces that gave it more flavor. The salsa that came with them were not too spicy neither and they were also very tasty! Over all I would come back, the food was good and I want to try more.

GREAT vibes!! if you want a chill bar restaurant in Gaslamp District then you should go here! Service is fast and the margaritas was delicious and only $13!! Great prices good vibes good service.

    Machaca Tacos
    Scott M.

The Gaslamp has literally hundreds of choices for food.. this place is just across the street from Petco park. I got the Machaca Tacos which were really, really good. IYKYK about good Machaca.. the eggs have to be seasoned just right and mixed with the beef just right or else it's just scrambled eggs and meat.. these tacos were absolutely fantastic! I think they only serve them on weekends so check before you order. I have never seen them with the added nuts and seeds..great addition. Took a star off for not checking if we needed refills on our iced tea (we did) but not that big of a deal.

Came by on a Friday night, somewhat quieter than we expected it. It's definitely more of a bar vibe, but we were pleasantly surprised at the taste of the food, plus our server was very nice and attentive. Our group had the burro bowl (salmon, shrimp, asada) and all agreed each one was very tasty. Luckily we had ordered guacamole and a side of sour cream for another person, so we added some of that along with salsa and that really brought it to the next level! The al pastor torta was good (according tot he people that had it). The only down side (which I think just comes with the dish) is that the queso fundido came with chips vs. tortillas like I'm used to.

I was at conference at the convention center and this spot was relatively close to walk to. I've been to SD many times before, but this was the first time I have been to this restaurant. The moment you walk in you can tell it's a cool spot to just hang and watch sports. The bar(s) are welcoming layout is designed in a way where you can see a TV on any screen. I came in with a relatively large party, and the waitress was amazing. She took care of us and made sure all was done well. I ordered the chilaquiles and thought they were good. I kind of wish it was bit wetter and a little spicier. Also the bowl is awkward, but nonetheless the food was good overall.

Good - but not great. Food was decent, but on the bland side of things. The service however, was fantastic!!

What's better than a Saturday morning day drinking in Downtown San Diego? Chips and Salsa and tacos to go along with the drinks! It was pretty quiet at the Blind Burro on a Sat morning after Diplo's Run Club had an event down the street at Gallagher Square. We sat in the patio bar area which is just great people watching so I love it. I ordered the street tacos with carne asada and oh man, they were delicious but that habanero sauce on there was spicy! I judge Mexican food restaurants based on the chips and salsa and both were very tasty. Prices were very reasonable and overall it was a great experience. Out service at the bar was very attentive as well, so appreciated that.

Outstanding happy hour menu. The beer is ice cold and the service is red hot. Had a few appetizers and drinks. Can't complain about anything.

I thought it was kinda weird but did so. Then the fireplace spins around into a speakeasy. It's the coolest bar I've ever been to and I immediately sent a video to my buddies of the fireplace spinning around into the bar. The beer selection is limited but the cocktail list is lengthy. So I got a amor picante and English brown ale. Both were pretty tasty, the bartenders or more like mixologists and know what they're doing. That's this critic's review.

Right away when we arrived I noticed that the flooring on the revolving fireplace looked like it needed to be replaced. I shrugged it off thinking they needed light weight materials for the revolving floor entrence. But I didn't think it was a good look for what is supposed to be a swanky exclusive vibe and being the first thing you really see. ( First impressions are important) Despite having made a reservation, we were seated directly between the revolving entrence and the exit, in the two coolest looking but most uncomfortable chairs. They were not practical at all for sitting and conversing a in a loud environment. That corner, in my opinion, should be reserved for the hostess and not for guest. Initially we thought these chairs were a quick stop before being moved to some of the other available sitting at the bar or around the perimeter we could clearly see when we came in. We asked, and where told those were our seats. No offer was made to be moved. We did not get a server to come to us until after we had placed our drink order with one of the hostess, about 20min after we were seated. Our server was very nice and polite. No issues there, just took long to get to us. The drinks were disappointing. Forgettable to say the least. We ordered one of there menu items and a Moscow mule. We were sad to see the Moscow mule served in a glass you might normally get a mojito in ... it wasn't served in a copper cup. As we sat there and looked at the place, we both thought the ambiance and decor was nice. However we were surprised to see so many people looked very underdressed considering they have a "smart casual" dress code, completely destroyed the whole swanky exclusive vibe. Lots of men in shorts and both men and women in flip flops. I also noticed the flooring inside the speakeasy had similar wear and scuff marks, as on the fireplace. The need to update their flooring and the amount of underdressed guest did not help project the vibes that they are going for. This really felt like a fast food (drinks) chain in any mall. Sadly I would not recommend, do to the drinks not being all that good, the service was mediocre, the "vibe" and experience they sell fall short.
