Just wanted to share our brief experience we had here. We walked upstairs to the host stand where a server and the male host were having a conversation. We stood for a minute just waiting for them to acknowledge us, but their conversation was far more important. Once the host decided to pause the conversation to greet us, his demeanor seemed more annoyed rather than welcoming. He proceeded to tell us it would be a 45 minute wait because it's "peak time". From what we can visibly see, just the bar was fully sat. There were a SIGNIFICANT amount of tables open. Compared to the surrounding restaurants I would say this place was considered dead. Ultimately, we decided to leave. As we headed out, we got a very passive "bye" from the host as he continued his conversation with the server as she seemed to be complaining about her tables being sat. We are from Las Vegas and work in the service industry so we know that sometimes there are hidden circumstances that the guest cannot see, but the host' demeanor was enough to make us feel unwelcome and not want to stay. read more

This is my favorite place to hangout when I stay in Little Italy. Such a cute restaurant with a great rooftop. I've tried a bunch of the food and not had anything I didn't like. My fave is the tuna poke though. The drinks are great and the staff never have any issues accommodating an ingredient substitution for me when needed. We came to Coco Maya for my girlfriend's birthday with a group of about 16 people and had such a great time. The vibe is fun and energetic with a Caribbean feel that's perfect for celebrating. The service was pretty quick for our large party. We've been to Miss B's Coconut Club before, and you can definitely tell they're sister restaurants. If you like one, you'll probably love the other. The Caesar salad chicken wrap was absolutely incredible and a decent sized portion. We started with the coconut shrimp which were delicious, however the sauce is better at Miss B's. Our friends shared the truffle fries which is a great snackie order for large parties and their ketchup is super fresh. The drinks were good overall, but I'd probably skip the coconut margarita next time. One tip is to plan for parking ahead of time or just Uber because parking downtown is a challenge. This place was super cute and packed for a brunch. They had a DJ too! You have to look for the sign to know where the entrance is and then up the stairs. It was a super aesthetic place but the drinks and good was okay. I liked the cocomut shrimp and the house essoreso martinis were good. Someone noticed and kindly asked where we were trying to go. He mentioned he was a cook at Coco Maya and suggested we check it out, and although we hesitated at first, we decided why not, even though it looked busy. When we walked over, we figured, why not give it a try? And honestly, we got so lucky--there was a table available for all six of us! But that was just the beginning. What a great little spot! Perfect for a girls weekend brunch. Loved that it was a roof top vibe and the views were great. Had reservations here for a Saturday and I have to say that the staff really went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 7! Even provided us little fans to keep us cool! If you can't do stairs, they also have an elevator you can use to go to the 2nd floor. Do handicap accessible. The bartenders are all very friendly even when it's a Saturday night and it's crazy busy. Drinks are good and food is also delicious. I had the poke which was actually really good. We also had the espresso martini. It's pretty loud with everyone having a great time so expect this when you come. They also have TVs in the bar area with sports events. Coco Maya is a cute place to go for brunch and drinks. The vibe is there. But what really bothered me was the service and management. Every single time I go there! You make a reservation you still wait 20-30 min for a table. They don't have anywhere to wait so everyone just crowds by the stairs makes it hard for people to come in or exit. The serving is okay, some waitresses are very nonchalant and tend to leave the tables unattended for a while. The food is good and the drinks are nice!! Don't get me wrong! I've probably been to Coco Maya 20 times -- no exaggeration. One of our friends loves it, and I've even hosted my best friend's bachelorette brunch here (which was a huge hit). This review is specifically for a Saturday afternoon visit before an event at Waterfront. Walking up the stairs, the host first told us it was happy hour, then came back to say it wasn't, and then our server confirmed it was happy hour on food onlon Saturdays. A little confusing, but a win for me -- the carnitas nachos I wanted are only on the happy hour menu. We had a group of five -- everyone else ordered burgers, and I went for the nachos. Drink orders were all over the place. The one I picked that day ended up being just okay (note to self: stick with the tried-and-true favorites here), but there are plenty of excellent options on the menu. Service was a little slow to start, but our server was friendly, confirmed we could order off the happy hour menu, and got our food and drinks in quickly. The restaurant was busy -- they'd just wrapped up a big event -- but the team kept things moving and stayed in good spirits. All the burgers came out first, and my nachos followed a few minutes later. The portion was perfect -- a big, satisfying serving without being wasteful, and they didn't get soggy as I ate. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The service was really nice and the vibe was very energetic. It was a bit too loud and was more like an under 30s night club than a restaurant. There were diva 3 DJs playing a variety of upbeat music. The only thing missing was an actual dance floor. I saw photos of the lobster flatbread on Yelp and had inquired about this. Our server did say that the presentation was no longer like how it was portrayed on Yelp with the lobster on top, but she reassured me they while it will look as dramatic, they will not skimp out on the lobster. With this reassurance, I ordered the lobster flatbread. I have to say I was disappointed on multiple levels. First, there were barely any lobster on the flatbread, so it was untrue they would not skimp out on the lobster. There were some slices that had more lobster than orders, but the quantity did not justify the price of 38.96. Overall the quality was not good. The flatbread was extremely greasy and chewy. I had expected light, airy, and crispy. I do not recommend this dish. What I do recommend is the burrada salad. I enjoyed every bite of this salad! The ingredients were fresh and the portion size was just right. We also ordered the latest addition to their menu, the caviar bumps. It was 3 different types of caviar each served on a mini pancake with chopped chives, chopped hard boiled eggs, chopped red onions, and lemon. I don't know if it was worth $46, but it tasted good. For drinks, I had the mango guava spritz. I forgot what my friend ordered, but it had cucumber in it. This restaurant is good for those who enjoy the loud nightlife. For those who prefer a quiet evening, this may not be a good fit. The ambience is beautiful, especially if you sit on the outdoor rooftop patio. read more

We walked right up to the restaurant, they have a podium out front with no sign to walk upstairs to get seated. Our first interaction with the hostess was not warm or welcoming, she looked overwhelmed and annoyed. We originally sat outside but the seats we were given were extremely uncomfortable stuffed behind a door in a corner and in the sun which made the seats really hot to sit on. We asked if there was any availability inside and got two different answers from the hostess, thankfully one of hosts was kind enough to help us move tables. Service was lackluster, it took 10 min to get glasses of water and an additional 15 to get our cocktails. Our food took even longer, once our food arrived the food runner dropped a piece of our friend's food on the table and completely disregarded it. He only offered a napkin so that she could clean it up, I get accidents happen but the way it was disregarded was not ok. She had to ask for a new plate of food since it didn't seem much of a problem to the runner. It took 20 min for a new plate of French toast to come out, there was zero sense of urgency and care from our server. She was very nice but didn't seem to care.
