Never have I felt so ripped of for some "Tex-Mex" tacos. I ordered through drive thru and had to wait 10 minutes for my tacos to be ready. When they ware, they ware COLD. Cheese inside of them wasn't melted whatsoever and only cold but tiny. This will be the last time I try this new location I will take my business to The Woodlands. read more

I went here a yesterday afternoon and got the taco with fried shrimp on it, it was okay tasting but then I ended up getting food poisoning from it. Very disappointing. And if that wasn't enough, the service was terrible, the girl at the register was talking to another employee and was paying almost no attention to us as we tried to order and had an attitude. We bought 2 tacos and some chips and queso and overall waited an HOUR for our food to arrive, the restaurant was not even busy at the time. Doubt I will ever return. read more

I came in for lunch not looking to be impressed just fed. I ordered the beef fajita, chicken fajita, and Baja shrimp tacos. HOLY SMOKES! Each taco has piles of meat on it, And the flavor!!!! Absolutly amazing. We also had the queso which was borderline addictive! We will be back. read more

Horrible service! We were waiting for almost and hour we spoke to the server and she went to the back and said they had lost our ticket!!!!! And she needed our receipt so they could make our food! We asked to speak the manager and she said the server didn't know what she was talking about!!!! Absolutely unprofessional! She didn't even bother to apologize!!! She brought our food almost an hour later and it still wasn't correct! I don't recommend this location if you are wanting good service! The woodlands location is the one to go too! read more

Frajatas more like roast beef. All seems inexpensive when looking at the menu but after you're charged for salsa that comes automatically when you arrive at all other restaurants, you're charged for them here and the margaritas are in very small glasses and run six bucks each. I was so excited Torchy's was opening in Conroe. Love the Woodlands location. Ordered the taco of the month, the Doublewide. It was delicious. The problem was the music was so loud we could barely hold a conversation. It was Sunday lunch, I was wanting a more relaxing experience. I could not get out of there fast enough. The First Impression: I was on my way to visit my mom in the hospital across the street. I stopped by torchys because it was close and several of my friends recommended it. It was my first visit ever. First, I stood in the wrong line. It was my fault. One line said dine-in, and the other was food to go. I wanted to take the food with me, so I did not get in the Dine-In line. It was my fault, I did not understand the system. The person behind the counter was very nice and explained it to me, but she had jewelry hanging out of her nose. It was not a stud, but rather a ring with balls on it that hung from her nose to her lip. It is not very professional for a food server. The restaurant was clean and the tables were cleaned quickly. Although there were not very many people in the restaurant, the atmosphere was very busy. The music was not too loud and the other customers seemed to be having a good time. Ordering Food: After I got into the correct line, I met the person behind the counter. I told her that it was my first time at Torchys and I asked for a recommendation. She was very polite and explained several options. She asked if I liked spicy or mild stuff. I said spicy. She recommended the trailer park tacos with diablo sauce. I paid for the tacos and she handed me the receipt and a pager to alert me when my order was ready. There was no designated place to wait for my order, so I sat at a nearby table. The restaurant was not busy, it was 2:34. There was only one other person ahead of me waiting on food. I sat there waiting on the tacos, and I waited. I was surprised it took 12 minutes to make my tacos. The guy ahead of me was waiting even longer. When I checked my order, there was only one taco in the bag. I checked my receipt, and it was not clear how many tacos were ordered. It just said Trailer Park Trashy without any quantity. I did not want to wait another 12 minutes for more tacos, so I left. The Food: The one taco that came with my order was good. I ordered it with diablo sauce, but the sauce came on the side. It may have been a good idea to keep it from getting soggy, but it was unexpected. The taco had great flavor and the sauce was tasty. I got the diablo sauce because the person behind the counter told me it was the spiciest sauce available. It was not spicy at all. The fire sauce from taco bell is more spice. Although the food was good, it was not as described. The Lesson: It took 12 minutes to make one taco, and there was one other person waiting on food. I could have gone through the drive-through at the neighboring Whataburger and Chick-fil-A in the same time it took me to get a single taco. The person who recommended Torchys to me said they waited over two hours for their food, but I just assumed that it was during the grand opening when Torchys was giving away free food. I do not doubt it would take a very long time to get food if I brought my family in to eat. The menu does not say how many tacos come with an order, and neither does the receipt. This is why I mentioned that it was my first visit and asked for a recommendation. The person behind the counter did not ask how many tacos I wanted, she only mentioned that I may like the Trailer Park because it is a local favorite. I am not cheap, and I always tip at restaurants. I would gladly have paid more to get more tacos if I had known the meal only included one taco. If you have never been to Torchys before, be sure to give yourself plenty of time. Torchys is not a quick lunch or dinner. The menu is a little confusing and the information about what you get when ordering is not communicated, so be sure to ask. The food was good, but not damn good. The experience was disappointing. I do not recommend Torchys. read more

I placed a To-go order and they lost my ticket and messed up my order. They were very unapologetic. This whole ordeal took over an hour. My friends food was brought out in 20 min and his food got cold by the time we were able to eat. I will never come back to this Torchy's. It is very poorly managed. read more

Called to place an order and no one answered the phone for a few minutes. When they did I asked if the drive through was open( location has been open for some time now) and was told no. Love the food. However the last two time I've been, the person I come with which has been two different people. Their food takes over 20 min to come out. Just now we waited 30 min for one taco to come out after we watched at least 4 tables food come be delivered to the table. I only ordered one and ate it and my friend was still waiting. So disappointed in the location. 336 Loop @ Conroe Saturday evening we ordered, picked up, being used to the wonderful service from the location in the Woodlands @ Research, I just knew this would be the same. NOT even close. :( The person with me had never had their food. [ I even made that comment to the lady who took the order] & I just kept bragging about it. The Fajita on flour tortillas tacos were so small and so greasy the orange colored grease was dripping thru the foil wrapper & slimy. Geez ! The Brisket taco [crossroads] on corn had hardly no meat and the Avacado slice was the size of an orange ! They left out the light green Avacado dipping sauce, and the Queso with GREEN CHILE QUESO UPGRADED WITH CHORIZO was so hot we couldn't hardly eat it. So, 3 tacos and Queso at 26.00 which included a "tip "on the receipt [for what?] We picked it up ! Absolute disappointment. I took photos, I was so pissed, and kept the receipt. the trailer park EXTRA trashy taco is the best taco i've eaten in my sixteen years of life. i first came face to face with this beautiful creation about four years ago. tragically, since then I've become vegan.. but this taco makes me rethink that decision.. very often. the combination of perfectly crisp chicken along with spicy queso will have you thinking about it all night. now.. keep in mind this is the only think i've tried from this restaurant but it's enough to definitely make me go again. but remember this very important factor.. EXTRA trashy (more queso) is the only way to go. read more

torchy's never fails, brushfire (super spicy with jerk chicken, grilled jalapeno, mango, sour cream & cilantro w/ diablo sauce) and rebel yell are the bomb- grilled shrimp, chopped bacon, grilled pineapple, cooked cabbage slaw, jack cheese, guajillo & garlic fried onion straws, cilantro, bbq sauce, & chipotle sauce on a flour tortilla. and what, yummy! pairs excellent with a bloody erin (bloody mary with a dash of diablo sauce)! read more
