First time here -- good service and opted for the recommendations by the guy here: Baja Shrimp and Trailer Park. The prices are up there for a taco but they definitely fill it, and it's a little more sizable than normal tacos. I was thinking 2 was going to fill me but you'll probably need 3 if you're hungry hungry. BAJA SHRIMP: Delicious! Pair this with the given sauce and it's the one to remember. TRAILER PARK: I opted to stay away from the Get It Trashy even though it was recommended. Only because it was earlier in the day, and having that much cheese in my system is never a good idea. It's definitely more sloppy and messy. All in all, good flavors but similar to a review I read here before -- I felt the food wasn't as fresh as it could be, or hot when it came out. When I placed my order, I had to repeat myself multiple times because the employee couldn't hear me. He also double charged the guy in front of me. I requested no sauce or anything else spicy (jalapeño). The Baja street tacos were tasteless. The tortillas were cold. I did order no sauce but even the pickled onions were bland. The street corn was mushy and the sauce was super spicy; it wasn't good at all. Honestly I've made better at home in regards to the corn and the tacos. For $20, I could have gone elsewhere. I was so excited to discover there was torchys in denver as well! Unfortunately, the excitement didn't last long. I have tried it three separate times and I have been let down all these times. We were craving tacos and decided to stop here after walking around this portion of Denver. This is walking distance to the art and history museums close to this area. We had some time to spare and decided to stop here for lunch. The concept is easy. You walk up to the service counter, order your food from the menu, receive a table number, seat yourself, and wait for your food to be delivered to your table. The guy at the counter was very friendly and informative. I wish I could remember his name. I should've asked and kept a note of it (Regrets). It's a very casual set up at this restaurant. I had the brushfire taco and the democrat taco (See menu on their website). The Diablo sauce that came with the brushfire taco was so spicy, it caught me off guard, lol. For drinks, and my significant other head a soft drink and I had their sangria. The sangria was good, but not as strong as others I've had. I had to steal a swig of the soft drink to squelch the Diablo sauce, lol. That spicy taco was good though. It was one of the more reasonable lunch stops around the area. First thing's first, I had read a number of glowing reviews about Torchy's Tacos on Yelp and did not realize that it is a chain restaurant. Kudos to the Torchy's Tacos team on having such an organic and unique brand that an outsider feels the restaurant is a local, small business. I think that's key to making the experience feel special, and that the food is not slopped through a mindless assembly line. All that said, I was super excited to finally try Torchy's Tacos after hearing so much about it. The Torchy's Tacos location I visited in Denver was a really big complex with a vintage carhop vibe. When you walked through the door they had menus ready, which I'm sure helps during busier times at this order at the counter restaurant. The Damn Good tacos are their specialty eats that were the main reason I wanted to visit. All the specialty tacos are super unique and not necessarily combinations you see at other taco joints. My eyes were definitely starving and I ended up ordering four tacos. FOUR TACOS IS TOO MUCH TACOS. Torchy's Tacos fills up their tacos!! I was blown away with how stuffed I was after just eating my first tavo which was the Democrat. The beef barbacoa was so full of flavor and the avocado cooled off the entire taco. Great flavors. The second taco I was able to finish was the Trailer Park which I ordered trashy (smothered in queso!) The crispy fried chicken was such an interesting thing to have in a taco. I was into it for sure. I also ordered the Baja Shrimp and Brushfire, but was too full to eat much more than a bite of both. Years ago, I went to the Torchy's in Austin and fell in love. Their queso and tacos left a mark on my palate. So when I was visiting Denver this past weekend, I was so excited to hear that there was a Torchy's close to where we were staying. Tonight I ordered the green chile queso, the "Democrat" taco, and churros for takeout. - The queso was so good, still as good as I remembered. By far the star of my order, finally got to scratch that craving :) - Oof, the taco was really bad. The beef was under seasoned and over greased. The avocado was hella sour. I couldn't finish the second half of my taco. My friend ordered the same taco and agreed with me, she couldn't finish hers either. - The churros weren't great either. Texture of an old tire and not enough cinnamon/sugar. The tacos didn't come with any salsa or sauce either even though the cashier mentioned to us that they come in little cups. I'd probably return to the Torchy's in Austin and/or the queso. After this experience though, I don't think I'd come back for the tacos or anything else. read more

A woman with short bleach-blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail seemed bothered we showed up as we sat at the bar. I hope this helps someone else if they see this before they park here, but if this is after the fact then I hope reading this makes you feel at least 1% better about the horrible and inconvenient ordeal of having your car towed makes you feel. First off, I understand that I did not patronize this particular Torchy's location today (I have in the past), but I am a regular at other Torchy's locations closer to me. I'm sure the owners of this location can find my rewards account to confirm that should they care to try and do some actually good customer service. I also understand that my 1 star review will not lower their average enough for this to matter, but I am angry and pissed off and who better to let that out on than the source. No point in getting angry at the incredibly sketchy tow company that charges by the hour ($46/hr was what I was told by the Rep on the phone btw) since they were just called to do the job and they did. Overall this ordeal cost almost $400. Torchy's, let me just say that sans the $400 I had to spend on this is just less money I have to spend at your company? Overall, does that sound like a good thing to you? You must get hella commission with this tow company that runs under 4 different names (sounds like a money laundering scheme to me) to make this worth it. I'd understand if your lot was full and I was taking a spot of a paying customer. However, there were at least 15+ open spots when I parked and more so when I found out my car was gone. The review from Rich M in February is 100% accurate and he is not alone. Don't you also think it would be bad for business for your paying customers to see you towing cars out of the lot while they eat. Doesn't seem like a smart PR move to me. My advice is if you want cheaper and much better tacos and you're in the area, 1. Don't park at Torchy's and 2. Go to Cabron Carbon Taqueria that is next door. They have the most incredible horchata too. Since I can't write a response to Tommy's comment, I'll add it here. I understand that you don't own the lot, but it's your restaurant and your name attached to it, so as much as you aren't responsible per se, you are affected by this. If this isn't something you want customers of your business to go through, I would suggest reaching out to the owners of the lot of ask them to tow when it is necessary and not when there are 15+ spots available. read more
