I've been looking forward to it for months, and recently, I finally got to try Torchy's! I went on a Friday night, so they were pretty busy. You order at the counter, so we had to wait in line, but the staff was super efficient and it moved quickly. Everyone was really friendly and just had all-around good vibes. We ordered chips and guacamole, fried avocado tacos, and mofaux tacos. Once again, I'm salivating. Everything was seriously so delicious and I can't wait to go back! Don't skip the drinks--they're worth it, imo! I loved the Frozen Sangria Swirl. We did have a tiny drink mix-up situation with the table next to us because there was some kind of issue with the buzzers they use to find you. The server couldn't find us so they gave our drinks to another table. After I told the server and they quickly brought out more drinks, we shared a "cheers" with the other table. All was well and everyone was happy. All in all, we had a super fun night here and I'm still dreaming of the food. read more

Taco Tuesday needs to be here every week! Literally some of the best tacos I've had. All of their foods are made fresh daily! The Baja shrimp taco, loved. The democrat, loved. The tipsy chick, loved. The taste of the tipsy chick was soo different and good. It comes with a bacon jam which sends this taco over the top. It's a taco, but doesn't taste like a taco, if that makes sense. It gave me chicken wing vibes (but it the most delicious, non weird way possible). Definitely would get all 3 of those tacos again. Queso and guacamole were amazing as well. I was a fan of the beans or corn. To me, the corn was either missing a flavor, or had too much of a flavor. I couldn't quite put my finger (or tongue lol) on what was going on with the dish. The refried beans were decent, but are super smooth. I like my refied beans with some chunks of beans. These seemed to be put through a blender or something, and they were a little too salty for me. My husband and I were in Fishers and decided to give Torchy's a try. The line was very intimidating at first because it went to the door but after we got inside, we realized it was just a single line with no wrap around so we decided to stay. The line initially did not move but it went quickly after it did start moving. I really liked that they provided menus at the end of the line so by the time everyone got to the register, people already knew what they were ordering. My husband and I got a little bit of everything to try. We got the chips and queso, 2 tacos, a burrito, and a side of street corn. We enjoyed everything but the street corn, it just wasn't really for us. We also thought the burrito was good but nothing very special. The tacos and starters are where it's at! Highly recommend getting a starter, they come out fast and it was great to have something to snack on while we waited for our food. The food took a little bit longer but it seemed like tables got turned over quickly and it did not seem to be a problem finding a table after ordering food. Popped into torchys for tacos and margs with my aunt. The queso was delicious. The trash taco was our favorite. I will say I was shocked by how strong the margaritas were also. Torchys doesn't serve your traditional taco but that doesn't mean it won't be delicious. I was super skeptical coming here because some of the tacos just seems strange but I've found my favorites. First let's start with the queso, is so good. Honestly not sure what they do but it's some of the best queso it has the perfect amount of spice. The chips are thin and crispy. I usually get the bushfire and the Baja shrimp on corn. The Diablo sauce is spicy and the perfect Addis to any taco. My husband really loves their guacamole but it wasn't anything special to me. I am still getting accustomed to the inflation caused price increases. For instance two tacos, an order of about 26 chips (estimated since half were broken or crumpled), and a Coke was 20 dollars and change. The tacos were good. The sliced pork on mine was a bit chewy. The shredded pork one my wife got was excellent. They did a nice job of sprinkling fresh herbs and veggies so it was visually appealing and tasty too. The cheese dip was excellent and my spouse had that polished off in no time. Plenty of off street free parking. Inside and outside dining. You order at the counter then they bring you your food from the back. The lady who was bussing tables kept wanting to take our food away. She did it twice. I guess they were trying to turn over the table. One other thing I found annoying was the paper towel dispense in the men's room. It would dispense a towel, half of which was laying in the water beside the sink. To get a clean dry towel, you had to rip it off contaminating your hand. I think these may be some of the best tacos I've had in a while. I tried the taco of the month for May which was called the Cougar and their Mr Orange taco and they were both amazing and full of flavor. I didn't need to add any extra sauce to them. The Cougar taco had brisket, BBQ and chipotle sauce, onion strings, corn relish and cilantro on a flour tortilla. The Mr Orange has blackend salmon, corn and black bean relish, cotija cheese, cilantro with avocado sauce on a corn tortilla These tacos are big in size, those 2 tacos filled me up. For my side I ordered a half order of queso and chips. To drink I had their sangria swirl frozen which was very tasty. I would definitely be back to visit this place. GET THE FAMOUS QUESO. I promise you won't be disappointed! Last time I had Torchy's was in Texas so I was happy to see them here in Indy! Everything was so good, just like I remembered. Underdog of the night was definitely the fried avocado tacos. It came with this cilantro lime sauce that was too good! A coworker from Texas was excited we were getting a Torchy's so due to his excitement I had to try it. Not open very long so I've heard it was very busy. I opted for an early lunch. They serve breakfast so the open early. I was told I had to try the queso(green Chile), so I ordered that plus a mr orange taco(blackened salmon). As I ordered, I was told they recommended at least two tacos. Had I not ordered the queso and chips, I would have agreed. The queso was good, a little bit of spice. The salmon taco was ok, I would have liked it better with the salmon more blackened. The Dr Pepper was on point. I will try again. They had 13 diff tacos plus some other food options. Went on 3/21 around 7pm. Line was out the door but moved fairly quickly. It gave my husband and I time to check out the menu and be ready to order. I went with a Tipsy Chick and a Trailer Park, trashy. He had the Trailer Park, regular, and a Beef Fajita. We split an order of chips and queso and chips and the tomatillo salsa. I also got a frozen lime margarita and he got a Sucker Punch. All of it was good. 90% was fantastic. I would eat a Tipsy Chick taco every day if I could. The queso is every bit as great as they brag it is. I loved my margarita and tasted the Sucker Punch and loved it too. The Trailer Park was good. It suffered because the Tipsy Chick immediately became my new favorite taco - ever. That's a high bar. And the tomatillo salsa was roasted, which added a smoky taste that was not exactly to my taste, but that doesn't mean it was bad. Nothing was bad! The chips were also perfectly salty. This review is for Wednesday April 13, 2022. So one day while stopping at Portello's, my Lady and I seen that Torchy's Tacos was in Fishers and figured we stop by pick something up and try it. Well As much as I wish our 1st experience was good, it was not sadly. My Lady stated when she went in, that the place was really noisy here, how she described it was like the following: people talking over themselves and the music, and TV's playing in the background. My Lady had a hard time giving her order tot he staff in the front, one was dancing in the front not paying attention to the world around her, and the one in front of taking my partners order the one who was paying attention, I was told it was hard to give the order with how loud the place was. Overall we ordered the following: Chips and Queso 2 Democrats 1 Crossroads 1 Green Chile Pork So The Queso that came with our order was their Green Chile Queso, the cheese dip was ok, just over salty as it someone making it was heavy handed with the salt shaker. The chip were just so so with me, but I am picky when it comes to the chips used, whether made in house or purchased. As for the tacos, it was hard to get around all the salt that was used in their seasoning to say hey I love this or that taco. I am unsure if this was just a goof up because they were getting ready to close in few hours, as they had a lot of people at night or is this how they always make their food, especially because they are serving alcohol. A strategy that I have seen many do up north is, put more sodium into the food so customer spend more on drinks(both non-alcohol and alcoholic drinks). So the meat in our tacos were overly salty, not flavorful. Honestly all you need to do is have a good seasoning and good marinade and it can be flavorful. I do not think we will be back to this establishment because of these issues we had. I guess the next time I was tacos, I will just make it myself. read more

This place is definitely on my list of faves. I like the inside. Good TVs for watching sports but also enough room to sit and quickly eat some tacos or stay a while and enjoy some beverages at the bar. The outdoor area is fitted with TVs as well. One of the best barbacoa tacos I've ever had (called the Democrat). Also, their breakfast tacos are delicious. This is a counter service restaurant and the line has been long since they opened. But don't let that detour you, it goes pretty quick. We were fortunate the day we went a spot opened at the bar so we were able to sit there. Bar tenders were attentive and service was good. I ordered the green chili pork my husband ordered the crossroads and Baja shrimp. The green chili pork was delicious my husbands tacos were average. Just not a ton of flavor. We also ordered chips and Queso, and chips and salsa with tomatillo and Diablo salsa, the queso was good, not a huge fan of the chips they are a little thick for my taste, the tomatillo salsa was good, but don't be fooled by the Diablo, it's more than of a vinegar base than it is spicy. The parking lot was pretty full when we pulled up which made me nervous but there were plenty of open tables and the food arrived very timely. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you. We ordered the hillbilly queso, a tipsy chicken taco and democrat taco, trailer park and republic. All the tacos come stuffed and very full. As we were waiting for the tacos and eating our queso, the chips were getting low so we were wondering if we got a refill or not. Good tacos, if you're looking for more of a fun take on traditional Mexican food. Our order was taken fast, but I can't say the service was great at the register. However, we sat on the patio where a number of employees helped us who were very friendly and attentive. Our order came out wrong, and we got it fixed, and were able to keep the extra tacos that were given to us by mistake. All the tacos were good, but the queso dip was REALLY good. They make a decent margarita, and the covered patio is nice. I think they should consider a different type of table though, as I already noticed food building up in the cracks of the patio tables, and this could get pretty gross. read more

I wasn't wow'd and the tacos were just ok. They are dry and not messy or saucy. I tried four different tacos and the only one I would order again is the jerk chicken one but you will definitely need sauce because the Chicken is dry. After allowing time for the newness to wear off, I had a late lunch there on a Thursday afternoon. We placed our order after requesting recommendations from the employee taking our order. There's a dining area of tables and benches and also a bar. A few TVs are on the walls as well. We sat in the dining area. Chips and queso came out quickly and the food soon followed. We got our food pretty fast, but we arrived at a good time because they weren't busy. The drinks came last. We really enjoyed the food and our frozen margaritas. First off, the service staff was great - friendly and patient. There was a mom with 3 kids in line in front of me and the staff was great with them. Good service and pick up was great, bathrooms and the store were clean. Queso - really, really good. Chorizo was a nice addition, and it had some good but not crazy heat. Street corn was also good, lots of cheese and sauce, and fresh lime. The tacos were okay. The jerk chicken taco was pretty good, but the fried chicken taco was something I could make at home. The chilis were Bland and tasted straight out of a cab with too much water and not seasoned. Brisket taco was way over cooked, almost like jerky. Service and the apps carried this in my opinion, but the tacos should be the star. read more

Met a friend who has been to Torchy's in CA and said it was good and wanted to try it here. She said the quality was the same. It was good. Kind of pricy. I got a brushfire taco, the basic green chili queso and a small frozen passion fruit margarita. Those three items with a tip at the counter was 23 dollars. The taco came with a great orange spicy sauce on the side. The queso was quite good and came with a small amount of crispy white corn chips which are my favorite. The margarita was really sweet but didn't really taste like passion fruit at all. It was kind of non-descript fruit flavored. My friend had the fried shrimp taco and the pork carnitas taco both on corn tortillas. I'll go back to try a few more tacos and another queso for sure. read more

I'm team torchy's! I'm thankful for all tacos, but torchy's is too terrific to not talk about! The team was top notch too! We had a few questions and requested additional chips which they were soooo nice about and got us super promptly! We had a few tacos and some queso and chips. The chips were perfectly light but strong enough to dip in the queso. (some broke, so they are right on the edge of strong enough) The chips were mostly evenly salted to a good flavor, which I liked a lot. The queso is so good in its basic form...no need for additional toppings or add-ons to make this queso worthwhile, but I think I'd like to try to Hillbilly version someday with texas chorizo! We ordered a couple tacos each, tipsy chick, chicken fajita, baja shrimp are the ones I can remember. They were all good. I'd say the chicken fajita was basic but good, and Tipsy Chick represented a more creative take on the toppings combo. That bacon bourbon marmalade is soooooooo tasty! So many things I'd like to return and try including the breakfast tacos, street corn, guacamole and fried avocado tacos! The parking can get busy, but it's in between the yard and kroger, so there's a little more space than the yard nearby. It might get tricky once some of the other businesses in the building are open. We've been wanting to try this place since we heard about it and decided to go yesterday since we were in the area. It was a very casual setting. Since we weren't sure how ordering worked we asked the server in the front of the restaurant and learned that the bar area was full service and the other tables were for place your order up front and take to your table yourself. Since we were new decided to go to full service and get a description of all the menu items. I'm so glad we did because we got a fantastic server named Sunny. She was so helpful in ordering and explained to us how everything is made fresh within the restaurant and you could tell how fresh it was! The food was amazing!! We started with the margaritas and the queso and chips. Both were fantastic. I ordered a crossroads taco which was made with brisket. It was good but I don't care for soft shells and it was perfectly fine without a shell. We ordered made from scratch churros to go since we'd already eaten so much we were full but when they came out all hot and yummy we ate them before we got home. I was kind of surprised by this place. For whatever reason I was expecting a small taco counter with a moderate number of choices - you order, you get your tacos and fountain drink and you load the tacos up at a condiments bar, and away you go for hopefully $20 or less. But I walked in and it: A) Was almost packed; B) Had a lot of families with kids running around; C) Offers a ton of different tacos, breakfast burritos, margaritas, and a festive, almost upscale feeling atmosphere, what with its opulent-looking bar and glistening clean floors and tables. My favorite street taco of all time is barbacoa, and it's hard to find. Torchys has a taco called The Democrat that has barbacoa , avocado, queso fresco, cilantro, onions and a wedge of lime. I also got a chicken fajita taco and one called Green Chili Pork, which has carnitas, green chiles, cotija cheese, cilantro, onions, tomatillo sauce and, again, a wedge of lime. All three were very good. The Democrat was excellent. I had trouble finishing all three tacos and would have probably done just fine with two. With beverage the bill was under $20. Their menu offers a huge assortment of other stuff that will guarantee I come back. I liked the atmosphere and food quality as well, and the staff was friendly. The vibe of the restaurant was great, as displayed by our two sons who constantly had a little dance going while eating their dinner. Of course it's more expensive than fast food, but it's worth it for what you get. I had the Mr. Orange taco, and the Crossroads taco. My friend tried the chicken fajita taco, and the Democrat. We also shared an order of queso and chips. Everything was amazing, ingredients are super fresh, and the flavor is so good.
