La Hacienda does a lot of advertising, so we decided to trek over to Carmel and see if they live up to the hype. I think they are part of a chain because there are other Mexican restaurants around town with the same name. This one is located in a strip mall just west of IN-31. The restaurant is large and tables spread out inside. There were a number of monitors playing Big 10 basketball during our visit. The dining room seemed a bit dark, but clean. The decor was modern and comfortable, but not upscale. Gilber, our server, was efficient and friendly throughout our visit. He checked on us regularly. He was 5 star. The menu is pretty typical Americanized Mexican with the usual offerings. They have a lunch menu as daily specials that run around $10. The food is not elevated, but standard Mexican. The complimentary salsa is good. The chips were freshly fried. I had the Speedy Gonzales lunch which consisted of a taco, enchilada and beans. The food was pretty standard looking, but portions were huge. The beef hard-shell taco was over stuffed with ground beef and cheese. The beef enchilada didn't have a lot of flavor, but adding salsa helped. My husband had lunch Special #9, which was composed of beef enchilada, burrito and beans. He thought the meal was good. They have a full bar and and plenty of dedicated parking.

Been hear multiple times and already enjoyed our time. They always have weekly deals on lunches. Meals overall are not expensive. Drinks are good, a little heavy on the flavor syrups. Food comes out promptly and has good portion sizes. The side of rice does not have much flavor and is pretty dry. I got the quesadilla and it was very flavorful. They have a trio margarita flight for 15 dollars that is totally worth it.

La Hacienda is our go-to Mexican restaurant. The servers are friendly, the food is consistent, and delivered quickly. I got the Arroz Texano which is steak, chicken, and shrimp, covered in cheese sauce and served on rice with tortillas on the side. My wife got the Alcapulco Cheese which was a flour tortilla stuffed with chicken, onions and cheese sauce. It was served with refried beans and all the fixings that I needed to make my Arroz Texano into some awesome fajitas! (Yes, they also serve fajitas). You get free chips and salsa with your meal. Over the 2022 holidays the restaurant had a minor renovation. They got rid of the colorful tables and chairs you see at a lot of Mexican restaurants. They now have nice black padded chairs and more subdued decor. (The chairs and tables pictured are the old ones. I'll take a pic of the new ones next time we visit ... because we WILL be back!). It's not as cheesy looking now and has a bit more upscale vibe. We like the improvements. As mentioned, what we REALLY like is the consistency and speed. If you go there and find something you like, it will be the way you are craving it the next time you visit. And it will delivered promptly by friendly staff.

I think La Hacienda is one of my favs to take my toddler: - I can trap her in the nice big booths - she is occupied by the chips and salsa - food comes out really quickly - great service - everything was delicious The chicken soup had awesome chunks of fresh avocado on top. I like the you can order just one taco for $3. The arroz con pollo was cheesy and yummy. They have a kids eat free night here on Monday nights.

Anyone know when they are supposed to re-open? I saw February 2017 in a comment, but it is May 2017 and they are still not open. Please open back up soon! My favorite Mexican restaurant. :(

It was supposed to be warm that day, but it was nice sitting in the shade with a little air movement not far from the street. Service seemed a tad sluggish at the start, but in their defense it also appeared there were only 2 of them at that time. The did promptly bring chips and salsa to the table. They did a decent job of refilling our waters as well as our chips and salsa without our needing to ask. We also were grateful that they were open as we noticed multiple folks attempting to enter the dining options across the street that were apparently closed for the day. The waitress asked to take our order after a bit, but we still hadn't received menus yet. Turns out that they have QR codes at tables to access their menu, but our table along with our neighboring ones seemed to no longer have the codes adhered. She then brought out a paper menu to use, which listed their lunch and dinner menus, although the lunch menu was only available for weekdays. They also have a brunch menu apparently, but that was not listed on the paper menu, so a tad annoying. Wife ordered the Huevos Rancheros ($12) and was very pleased as they prepared it per her request (eggs over hard and with green sauce). Daughter chose Arroz con Pollo ($15) and was also pleased with the quantity of cheese provided. Son selected the Chicken and Waffles ($13) with spicy syrup, which he thought were good but that he should have asked for additional syrup as the container wasn't sufficient for the quantity of waffle that he had. I went with the Chili Relleno ($15), which was also very cheesy and tasty. The rice and beans that came with it were just OK, a tad dry and lacking a bit of seasoning. Overall, not a bad meal. Prices seemed a tad high for what we got, but that is the case everywhere with inflation these days. Service was fine in spite of most likely being undermanned, but again just grateful for those who did choose to come in and work on a Father's Day Sunday.

They gave me a generous portion, the protein amount made it well worth the $12. The salad was a bed of leafy lettuce for extra nutrition and topped with cherry tomatoes, pickled onions (key ingredient), queso fresco, one scoop of guac (only complaint-not enough for the size of the salad), pepitas and a citrus vinaigrette on the side. The dressing is delicious! It all was delicious!! I would get it again in a heartbeat but also would want to try others things in the menu as well. My friend got the Chicken in Chipotle bowl. She loved it as well. The portion did not look as large, but it was $12.50. This comes with rice and black beans with adobo chunked chicken and other toppings including a scoop of guac and the delicious pickled onions. Very happy with our choice of La Margarita inside of the Sun King Brewery. Check them out for sure!
