La Hacienda was close and I wanted to see what it was like. Now I know. The food was average, but the staff were very attentive. The restaurant itself is well worn and in desperate need of a refresh. A lively atmosphere is absent here. I had the burrito deluxe. There is no "wow" to report here. The food just doesn't move the needle off average. I am sad to say if I compare this restaurant with the El Rodeo restaurant on Michigan Road, then El Rodeo wins. It's cleaner, fresher, and the food is tastier at around the same price. Went for a group dinner after work, there were plenty of open tables and our party of 5 was able to be seated right away. They brought out salsa and chips while we were looking at the menu and I asked for some spicy, oh boy did it have some spice! I ordered a tamarindo margarita to drink, it was sweet with salty tajin rim. For food I tried tacos al pastor, it came with a side of rice, beans, and more spicy salsa. The flavor on the tacos was on point, seasoned well with some sweetness from the pineapple pieces. Our waiter was attentive and we did not have to wait for requests. Waitress said happy hour price for margaritas was $6. We were charged over twice that much. There was a language issue but she showed us in writing on her notepad the $6 price. In addition the margarita had very small amount of alcohol. Nacho order did not have anything but chips, beef and cheese. Had to ask for salsa and sour cream. read more

I hate writing this reviews because this has been our go to Mexican for at least 10 years but there is no going back after today. We stopped by for an early dinner there wasn"t enough staff (1 chip guy & a server) salsa has gotten really bland & my lunch came out wrong after waiting 25 min ( long time for mexican). First time trying this place, my fiance and i ordered very simple meals upon receiving the food we were told the plates were "warm" but myself and my fiance ended up with burns from touching them felt like they had just come out of an oven. Been hear multiple times and already enjoyed our time. They always have weekly deals on lunches. Meals overall are not expensive. Drinks are good, a little heavy on the flavor syrups. Food comes out promptly and has good portion sizes. The side of rice does not have much flavor and is pretty dry. I got the quesadilla and it was very flavorful. La Hacienda does a lot of advertising, so we decided to trek over to Carmel and see if they live up to the hype. I think they are part of a chain because there are other Mexican restaurants around town with the same name. This one is located in a strip mall just west of IN-31. The restaurant is large and tables spread out inside. There were a number of monitors playing Big 10 basketball during our visit. The dining room seemed a bit dark, but clean. The decor was modern and comfortable, but not upscale. Gilber, our server, was efficient and friendly throughout our visit. He checked on us regularly. He was 5 star. The menu is pretty typical Americanized Mexican with the usual offerings. They have a lunch menu as daily specials that run around $10. The food is not elevated, but standard Mexican. The complimentary salsa is good. The chips were freshly fried. I had the Speedy Gonzales lunch which consisted of a taco, enchilada and beans. The food was pretty standard looking, but portions were huge. The beef hard-shell taco was over stuffed with ground beef and cheese. The beef enchilada didn't have a lot of flavor, but adding salsa helped. My husband had lunch Special #9, which was composed of beef enchilada, burrito and beans. He thought the meal was good. La Hacienda is our go-to Mexican restaurant. The servers are friendly, the food is consistent, and delivered quickly. I got the Arroz Texano which is steak, chicken, and shrimp, covered in cheese sauce and served on rice with tortillas on the side. My wife got the Alcapulco Cheese which was a flour tortilla stuffed with chicken, onions and cheese sauce. It was served with refried beans and all the fixings that I needed to make my Arroz Texano into some awesome fajitas! (Yes, they also serve fajitas). You get free chips and salsa with your meal. Over the 2022 holidays the restaurant had a minor renovation. They got rid of the colorful tables and chairs you see at a lot of Mexican restaurants. They now have nice black padded chairs and more subdued decor. (The chairs and tables pictured are the old ones. I'll take a pic of the new ones next time we visit ... because we WILL be back!). It's not as cheesy looking now and has a bit more upscale vibe. We like the improvements. As mentioned, what we REALLY like is the consistency and speed. If you go there and find something you like, it will be the way you are craving it the next time you visit. And it will delivered promptly by friendly staff. read more

I just ordered food from La Hacienda for it to be delivered. I was missing the main portion to one of my Child's Menu items. When I called them to discuss, I was told by two different people that the item was not on their receipt they had. However if that was actually the case I would not have received the side items that went with that menu item. They were rude and spoke over me at every chance. They never offered a solution besides telling me that I never ordered said food. They also never apologized for the order being incorrect. Very poor customer service and even if the food is normally pretty good, I doubt I'll go back again. read more

Margarita Monday was a success with grandma and the girls! Our staycation spot in caramel was not too far from La Hacienda! It was a pretty busy night for them, but they were very efficient and super attentive to all our needs! We tried the frozen sangria margarita and a mango margarita. My kids felt special because they got to get Jarritos. I'm a fajita girl so I got the Texas fajita with shrimp, steak, chicken and veggies with corn tortillas. Love love love this Laha!! We order from here frequently because laha is obviously the go to for Mexican food, but this specific laha is so good! They pay attention to the special instruction on the food, which I feel like is so rare on delivery apps. I love the arroz con pollo, the way they cook the chicken is my favorite. Update for Dine-In First and foremost - the staff here are phenomenal and very nice. I got seated right away and was immediately brought a water and chips and salsa. My server, Janet, was very kind and attentive and just a real quick shout out to her because she deserves it! I ordered a small queso, two shredded chicken tacos on corn tortillas and an order of rice and beans. I had a great time and I was stuffed afterwards! I also got the Lagunita IPA for any IPA lovers, I would definitely recommend! The tacos were great and the corn tortillas are my go to because it just tastes better in my opinion. They also have really good rice and beans, and I know that sounds funny - but there is a distinct difference between good and bad rice and beans and these are the good ones! Kind of a weird location. Went on a Friday afternoon around 3:30pm and staff seemed confused to have customers at that time. Service was very slow. Ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was legit just grilled chicken topped with melted cheese in a shell. Not even cut into pieces. I'm used to being able to pick up my quesadillas in pieces and dip in some toppings like salsa, sour cream, and guac. Nothing here. Had to cut it with knife and fork. A little bland but not horrible. Looked as though it was thoughtfully laid out on the plate and not hurriedly slopped on there. First time to this location and I will be back. I recently ordered takeout. One of my favorite dishes is their Arroz con Pollo. I asked for a 16 oz. Margarita, but was told they only do 32 oz for takeout. No problem. When I saw my bill, I noticed the charge for the 32 oz regular margarita-with ice no less- was $32! For dine-in patrons, the cost for a 42 oz margarita is only $16.99! When questioned, the restaurant employee (perhaps owner) said "That's the price." If you enjoy paying "demasiado" or more than twice the cost for takeout, than La Hacienda is the restaurant for you. read more
