Taqueria Mexicana just didn't hit the mark. There were a number of issues with our early dinner, but the straw that broke the camel's back was that the chicken was super dry and the steak unbearably tough in the sopes. The sopes looked good, with a mountain of fresh lettuce, but the meats were inedible. At 5:00 pm on a Saturday, I would have expected the food to be fresh for the dinner crowd, but it was not. The clerk was aloof, we had to ask for sauce to try and add some flavor to the sopes. Dirty dishes overfilled tubs near the trash. What an unappetizing mess. Won't be back. read more

Places an order for some tacos and an order of nachos, found a staple a full staple in my order of nachos. I tried calling the place multiple times but would get hung up on after asking for a manager. No ambiance for to get the problem resolved. Good acceptable food, horrible service. As soon as we walked in the lady give us a look, even when we say hi and the place was empty, and also it was more then an a hour before the closing time so we didn't understand where that was coming from. Then she proceed to attend us with an attitude. We only ask for the tacos and when they came out, they don't offer the sauces that were used to get in Mexican restaurants. I used to live in Texas and these are some of the closest tacos in the Midwest that I've had to what I had in Texas. Real authentic Mexican tacos. You order at the counter here and by the time I sat down after ordering, they were saying my food was ready! I go 3 different tacos and the chips and queso. They also have different sauces you can put on the tacos yourself in varying spiciness levels. The inside is very similar ambiance to any other quick order at counter restaurant such as five guys. A New Mexican woman staff member was rude--perhaps due to a language barrier, but she refused to provide plastic utensils for my toddler and insisted we use their silverware instead. I really wanted to like this place but my experience fell flat. Tried a variety of tacos (chicken, steak, lengua) and steak nachos. Most of the tacos were lacking flavor and the chicken was especially dry. They have a red and green salsa you can add but both did little to enhance the flavor or mask the dryness. The best thing of the night was the cheese sauce on the nachos but the chips in the nachos were heavily drenched in oil - unsure where all the extra oil came from but it felt very heavy. My older daughter and I enjoyed our street tacos (especially the steak tacos) and my younger daughter liked her steak quesadilla. We have ordered our food for so many times to go because we started liking the food , i think after the last time and this time order, we are done with this place because the customer service is not great, the menu online is not reliable price wise, there are same things at different price and everytime, we always get charged the most expensive price but missing ingredients. My lengua quesadillas is missing guac, and tacos missing mozzarella while got charged with extra mozzarella. Kevin, who took order today and last time is not professional - the only one who speaks English , he kept getting our name and order wrong but took a joke out if this, so we were not comfortable anymore ordering food as he sounded like he is on drug or something . We chose to stop in after seeing 4.5 stars on yelp and unfortunately the food failed to live up to the hype. I have to start with the operations are large. Extra large. The sauces were very flavorful but tend to be spicier than an average sauce. Even their mild has kick but it's amazing. The knock is on the flavor side. I had the carne asada nachos. This was the first time I've had nachos where there was more meat than chips. The nachos were so loaded with cheese that they were all soggy and the asada wasn't seasoned or was so lightly seasoned I couldn't taste it. My two littles had a cheese quesadilla from the adult menu and that came with refried beans, rice, and lettuce. Neither of them are their quesadilla but instead at the beans and rice. That's a first for us as they never eat the beans and always eat the quesadilla. They said it didn't taste right. I tried it and I thought it was excessive amount of cheese....like a Luke warm brick of cheese between a lightly toasted quesadilla. We ate on-site and it was clean. I don't think this food would travel well for take out. I wouldn't want to have rated it warm Vs hot. read more

I have been going to this restaurant, probably two or three times a month for the past year and a half becuase I happen to work in their very strip mall mostly getting it while I work... and don't get me wrong, their food tastes great there's no doubt about that it's authentic and yummy however in the past few months their customer service has rapidly declined, for starters every single time I walk in there (a white teenager) one of the new cashiers looks at me like I should not be there she almost gives me this disgusted face every single time I go in there, secondly I genuinely don't think they've ever charged me the same price for the exact same thing that I get every single time I go in there which is three steak tacos sometimes it's $13 sometimes it's $15 and sometimes it's all the way up to $20, and lastly and what just pushed me over the edge to write this is they will only give me two taco tacos even when the receipt specifically says three this has happened a few times before even after I tip them! and this was my final straw, I went down there to make sure that I got my other taco because I freaking paid for it, when I walk in and show them the tray and the receipt they look at me with a disgusted face and say sorry as I'm standing there. I'm watching the cook make the taco and only cooks it about a third of a way through and throws it back in my plate and I made sure to address this in store and when I did, they just looked at me with a blank stare like I was a total idiot as I expressed my concern with their recent decline any customer service. I don't mean to be a Karen, but it's repeated issues that seem only to be getting worse I'm going to give them a break from my business with them hopefully, in a few months, they can get their shit together because again I love their food, and I love to support a local establishment like that especially one that I'm so close to, but I just can't stand the way they have treated me as a customer. read more

Carried out lunch from here to take to friends. We got a sampling: fish tacos, the Al pastor burrito, and chicken nachos. The Al Pastor was very flavorful and a greasy heap of deliciousness. I also really enjoyed the chicken nachos. The chicken pieces were cut a little big, but nothing we couldn't work around. The only miss for me was the fish tacos. It was #NationalTacoDay and I wasn't going to miss it. (Did you?!) After a day of driving around town, we were starving and found ourselves by Taqueria Mexicana. Per Yelp fashion, we followed the good reviews. I got two asada tacos and a side of guacamole. My husband got the asada quesadilla and papas fritas. The best part was that the sweet woman at the counter let us practice ordering in Spanish. She also spoke perfect English... I'm so envious of people who can speak multiple languages so flawlessly! We ordered at the counter and because of COVID, they had markers on the ground of where to stand so no one was too close. Once you order, you wait about 10-15 minutes for your meal and can choose to eat it in-person or for takeout. The tacos were soooo good and came with all of the toppings you'd want, onions and cilantro on top, and cucumber, lime, and salsa on the side. Delicious! The guacamole was also great and the perfect consistency. The fries were surprisingly incredible as well... perfectly fried. A few of the tables had trash on them and the bathroom wasn't ideal, so those are two reasons why I wouldn't choose to dine in, but the food and people were wonderful and we appreciated the experience! read more

This place hits the spot! Not much in decor but very clean. Food was very good and had great flavors and I enjoyed the chips and guacamole. Three salsas were available which made me happy. I found this food truck searching online for birria tacos. I was surprised to find that they are in the Staples lot Wednesday through Sunday after 6:00. I did try a birria item for the first time and enjoyed it. I plan to explore their menu in the coming weeks. This is the spot for tacos in Westfield, hands down. The place is no frills, no fancy seating or service. But they deliver on what many restaurants #1 priority should be, and that is GOOD FOOD. The al pastor and asado tacos here are so good! As soon as you order you can see them preparing everything fresh for you, despite that it takes them no longer than ten minutes to get it all ready for you. This is a great, no-frills, local Mexican restaurant. I get carry out regularly for lunch. My favorite is 3 chicken tacos, hold the onion, add cheese. It's enough to leave me feeling very full, but not miserable. I recommend asking for the orange and red sauces if you like some heat. The chicken is always good, and well-seasoned. I've had the steak tacos, which are also good, but I prefer the chicken. They don't skimp on the meat, either- these tacos are stuffed full! Very authentic. This is where you will see lots of work trucks. You can order in Spanish or English, but be listening for your number in Spanish, this is the real deal. The results are in! The reviews were right! This place has everything going for it- the workers are friendly, it's very clean, and most importantly the food is delicious. My husband and I both ordered quesadillas- his were chicken and mine were carnitas. We should have just split an order- look at the picture from the side of my quesadilla- tons of meat. The rice and beans were good, too. You order your food at the counter and if you're dining in go take a seat. The food is ready super quick. Don't think they serve alcohol? Yeah, something is not quite right here. I eagerly anticipated the opening of this taqueria for months, having glanced at their temporary sign most of the winter. I came in for lunch just a few days after they opened. I ordered several carnitas (pork) tacos. Later that night, it hit me. I've eaten Authentic Mexican food in practically every state in Mexico, and never had problems. Until now. I dismissed it as being related to stomach flu or some temporary illness. But then, my co-worker took his family there this past weekend, and guess what: Every family member who ate pork products was sick as a dog the remainder of the weekend. I attempted to contact the restaurant today to warn them, but I was disconnected just as I started talking. I think they dropped the phone. I didn't have time to try again, but I'm not sure how far I'll get with them on this. Potential food contamination is a serious accusation, and I'm not sure if this constitutes enough of a sample. Really good! I've been looking for a place that has authentic tacos, specifically street tacos. I moved from CA and there's just not much that compares. This is the closest I've found so far. The tacos were great- I got the steak & chorizo, chicken and carnitas and added cheese... they were all delicious! The service was awesome too, they were super nice! I love their green salsa, and I loved the flavor of the other ones but they were just a bit too spicy for me personally. Will be back! read more

Tried Al pastor and steak & Chorizo Tacos. Both were top notch, super delicious and flavorful. I personally liked Al Pastor the most. Meat was so juicy and I did not even bother to use the sauces, that comes on the side. Portion of the meat on each tacos were so huge, which makes it really worth the price ($2.99 per taco). This is place is kind of fast food restaurant with an open kitchen. I personally prefer take out since I come with my family most of the time. This place is in a strip mall, hence parking is not a problem here. read more

Nice place. Definitely authentic Mexican cuisine. My wife had the grilled chicken burrito and she liked it a lot. I had the chorizo burrito. It wasn't bad, but I've had better. However, both burritos were larger than my arm, so you definitely get a lot of food for your money. Also, we had chips and salsa.
