Located inside SunKing Brewery, we ordered a single order of nachos or as they list it on the menu"Nachooos." We found out that single was large enough for 3-4 people and me and my wife couldn't eat half of it. Plenty of premium toppings come with it, served on a full sized cookie sheet nachos covered with beer cheese, pickled onions, a verde salsa, cilantro and guacamole. Very quick service with a smile.
Food is always delicious! The birria bowl had such good flavor and plenty of toppings. The food is usually quick as well. You can't beat the environment of Sun King and how modern and relaxed it is inside!
It was great to visit this fun Sun King food and beer hall. The industrial feel, large airy space, great beer selection and various kitchens make it easy to see why this spot is a popular Carmel destination. We met a big group of people who arrived to Sun King a while before we did as we were all traveling into the Indy area and meeting here. We had the chance to learn from the group which kitchen offerings were table favorites. La Margarita was the clear winner. Everyone seemed to like what they got from this kitchen. While ordering I asked the La Margarita cook's team which item was their favorite and ordered that. So we got the CHICKEN EN CHIPOTLE burrito bowl which is served in a bowl over a bed or Mixi-rice and black beans with Fischer Farms Adobo grilled chicken, chipotle salsa, guacamole, queso fresco, & pickled red onion. 5/5. So good! I love variations of pollo en crema and that's what this dish is. Creamy delicious chipotle sauce smothering grilled chicken with all these fresh ingredients. I'd for sure order this again. Yelp would lead you to believe the nachos are the star of the show. And let me tell you, the nachos are great and quite a good bargain. But if you want to have the best bite in Sunking, you get the Birria tacos. They're cheesy and meaty and juicy and crispy and full of flavor. They're everything you could want in Birria. It only comes with two tacos (which isn't a great deal) but add a side of rice, talk a friend into splitting some chips and queso, and you've got a tasty meal!
This place is in with the SunKing in Carmel. It is a counter service restaurant with a server that will bring you drinks only, so order your food then take a seat and someone will come and take your drink order. You will be given a pager and when your food is ready you will pick it up and bring it back to your table. Now about those nachos!! The chips are fried and so crunchy! Generous amount of toppings as well. I chose the chicken and it was delicious! The salad was equally as good. In all honesty I think you could split the nachos just depending on how hungry you are. But definitely a good portion size.
I went here two days in a row last weekend lol! It's that good! For the very first time I tried one of their burrito bowls. It was actually really good! I love the seasoning and sauces that they use. The second time I went I got the chorizo nachos. Man, we're they spicy! But I mean, just look at the picture. They were amazing. Great to share with a few friends. I loved the Queso cheese and Guac on them. La Margarita might be my favorite spot for Mexican in all of Carmel. Which means, I need to try their real location in fountain square!
Located inside the Sun King as one of the food vendors. I wish they were open for lunch more than just Thursday/Friday during the workweek. Birria tacos. Is there anything more to say?? The order comes with 2 tacos that doesn't seem like a lot but they are very filling! Brisket covered in cheese with cilantro and onions fried in a tortilla shell that's been greased up by the heavens themselves. Pro tip: You can add chips and salsa to any taco and make it a meal. You get two salsas with the meal, a spicy red and a fresh tomatillo. The chips are super crunchy and seriously addicting.
On the right side of the SunnKing distillery you can find the La Margarita stand... the nachos are gigantic.. so went for the ensalata salad today with the chip trio. The chips are nice and thick, and we also got a little side of the queso which was addicting today. The salad has a nice crunch with the nuts in it, and good flavor from the pickled onions. If I can make salad taste this delicious at home, I'd be in much better shape. The only thing that was a little off putting was that the salad wasn't cut in bitable pieces and there were some stems.. but I would still get it again.
I love the downtown location, so when a friend asked to meet at Sun King for drinks and dinner, I knew I'd be choosing La Marg for food. It did not disappoint. (And actually, I prefer the ordering process and setup here vs downtown location). I ordered the Chorizo Bowl and chips and salsa. The bowl was the perfect size for dinner and very tasty, with lots of fresh ingredients. The Salsa starter came with plenty of chips to share and was only $4! I loved pairing my meal with all the offerings at sun king and really loved the convenience of the location. I'll return soon!
When you order nachos, just be aware that they will hand you a baking sheet filled with tortilla chips and stuff on top. A baking sheet, people! That's a lot of nachos. An order of nachos is enough for three people, just an FYI. I seem to always forget about the baking sheet of nachos, though, because whenever I come here and order for myself, I always order the nachos. But it's because they are so good! So if you're in the mood for a meal of chips and meat that will satisfy three people, get the nachos here. You'll leave satisfied.
Such a fun spot! Inside Sun King brewery as one of the food hall stations. Huge line can be intimidating but the service was very quick and they give you tons of food. Great spot to sit and wait and converse and people watch while you wait too. Walking on the Monon before and after is always nice. Cheese quesadilla was better than most, and the different salsas were good too
Wow! I've already told like 3 people about these birria tacos since I tried them at lunch today! Based on some foodie groups I frequent , Birria are all the rage right now. I've been Interested to try them so when I saw them on the menu, I had to try. Now, I've read that Birria tacos come with some sort of dipping juice and these didn't but they sure did NOT NEED anything more. These flavorful, tender , juicy braised beef tacos were delicious every single bite. They stayed crispy despite all the juice, they were melty, they had cilantro and onions. So so good, and I can't wait to get them again.

¡Delicioso! Wow, loved my salad here! I chose the Ensalada Margarita with Chicken. The chicken is Tinga style, shredded and seasoned. They gave me a generous portion, the protein amount made it well worth the $12. The salad was a bed of leafy lettuce for extra nutrition and topped with cherry tomatoes, pickled onions (key ingredient), queso fresco, one scoop of guac (only complaint-not enough for the size of the salad), pepitas and a citrus vinaigrette on the side. The dressing is delicious! It all was delicious!! I would get it again in a heartbeat but also would want to try others things in the menu as well. My friend got the Chicken in Chipotle bowl. She loved it as well. The portion did not look as large, but it was $12.50. This comes with rice and black beans with adobo chunked chicken and other toppings including a scoop of guac and the delicious pickled onions. Very happy with our choice of La Margarita inside of the Sun King Brewery. Check them out for sure! read more
We have eaten here at least 10-15x and never had an issue with our orders! Even during a rush, our food is always consistent. The people who work here are kind and patient. Chips are made fresh and the nachos are always covered in plenty of toppings, fresh guac, beer queso, we love the pickled onion, and salsa. My favorite way to order them is with chicken and black beans, but the beef is a close favorite. Their tacos and bowls are great and always full. Plenty of seating inside and upstairs! It was great to visit this fun Sun King food and beer hall. The industrial feel, large airy space, great beer selection and various kitchens make it easy to see why this spot is a popular Carmel destination. We met a big group of people who arrived to Sun King a while before we did as we were all traveling into the Indy area and meeting here. Omg the birria tacos are to die for. They are so delicious. It was such a great quick meal for $11. I got the two birria tacos with chips and salsa. The fountain drinks are free refills. Fun environment with sports and music going on. read more

What better place than somewhere that you can grab a Sun King beer and a plate of nachos! Did you know that you can order a 1/2 order of the nachos? Not a menu options, so anyone looking for a "smaller" portion, this option is for you! Although note that the portions are HUGE!!! I am a big fan of the Monon and what better half way point on a bike ride than La Margarita - located inside of the sinking! Love that I can sit outside and enjoy the weather! Great chicken nachos with a lot of flavor. read more
The nachooooos and chicken bowl were delicious!! I wish I got some hot sauce on the side with the bowl. But omg these two items were so good! Seasoned well and very flavorful! Also quite filling. This is one of the 4 food stands inside the new Sun King brewery/distillery in Carmel. The food (when they have it) is pretty good. However, when I ordered the chorizo tacos, they were out. They only have 3 meats, so they were out of 33% of their menu. I didn't find out that they were out of chorizo until after I ordered and had sat down (they used the pager they gave me to call me up to change my order). I substituted brisket (the other choice was chicken). The brisket had good flavor and a little spice. Everything is a little pricey. A tiny bowl of queso cost $5. 2 tacos were $9. read more
This is a taco and burrito conversation - na'chos! But actually, the nachos are really delicious and the hidden gem of SunKing. These nachos have beer cheese (yes), pickled red onions (oh yeah), guacamole (keep it going), dueling salsas (don't stop now), queso fresco (out. of. control.) and I pick chorizo and you have the best thing that $12 will buy you. The portion is also almost ridiculous and it can feed at least 16 people or 1 me. La Marg has other good food - and an every day taco meal deal - but you're fooling yourself if you eat anything other than these nachos. read more

Didn't know whether to leave this review for La Margarita or Sun King. This was our first time ever in Carmel (visiting a friend who moved there). It was such a beautiful place, and the highlight was definitely the outdoor area outside of Sun King. Inside the doors and to the right you'll find this spot, La Margarita! We ordered the chicken tacos, chorizo tacos, and the nachos. All were delicious, but just a heads up that the chorizo was spicy (which we loved, but also appreciated having the chicken tacos to help balance the flavor). All in all, it was a great experience! read more

We've been to La Margarita several times though this is my first review. We love to order our favorite Chicken Nachoos and share. They come out on a large baking tray with a decent amount of toppings - but be forewarned the chicken (unless you specify differently) is pretty hot - as in spicy. Well today we sat down at a table in front of the counter, after having secured our beers, and there was a sign on the register saying "we will open at 5:30" - it was about 4:45. Since we already had our beers, and I was really hungry, we decided to wait. I started a line at 5:25 at the counter and about 5 people quickly lined up behind me. At about 5:35 finally someone came up to say it would be at least another 45 minutes. Everyone else quickly left but I remained and the gentleman working apologized and offered me some chips & queso free of charge. That gesture was much appreciated and went a long way. The oven was down and the repairman was still hard at work. As the adage goes "S&$t happens" sometimes things can't be helped but we've had several good experiences there and equipment failure is out of their control. We'll be back again...and again. read more
