I ordered the three taco combo which allows you to choose up to three different types of street tacos. They are very traditional street tacos with just onions and cilantro and your filling of choice. Good quality food. The three meats in my tacos were on the bland side, which is my biggest reason for not wanting to give this review four stars. Flavor is really important! Despite the blandness, the tacos were a solid choice, with generous amounts of filling. I had one steak, one pork, and one chicken taco. The tacos came with a few slices of cucumber, radishes, and limes. The cucumber was new to me, but I used it as a topping, along with the radishes, and it was a fun topping, adding a little freshness Pop. I would've liked to have had more cucumber, radish, and lime. There was one of each for each taco. I also used the two very small salsas that came with the tacos, one red and one green, and they were spicy and flavorful. The meal also came with the side of rice and beans, also solid. I am used to getting a complementary order of chips and salsa when I get delivery or takeout from a Mexican restaurant and those were not included in my delivery. I saw chips and salsa on the menu, but I didn't realize that it wasn't simply there to order extra. So, a heads up to add that to your cart if you're ordering delivery and want them. While the food was good, I will probably not order from L&M Taqueria again because there are other restaurants that offer more flavorful tacos for similar price, but I still believe that the food is good quality and this restaurant is a solid choice! read more

I ordered 2 steak tacos 2 carnitas tacos and a torta de milanesa for pick up. Food: The portions of meat on the tacos were more than enough. Where it lacked was the flavor of the meat, the steak was better than the carnitas, but still bland. The torta was much better regarding the flavor and can easily fill you up on its own. Here's my two cents: If you want "authentic" Mexican food, you need to go to places that make you order at a counter. L&M Taqueria is such a place. You order at a counter, and they bring you your food. It's all very straightforward and casual. And guess what? They have very good Mexican food here. See: My theory about counter-ordering and good food is correct. Please always listen to me about Mexican food, because I shall never lead you astray. I found out that L&M Taqueria is an offshoot of Loren & Mari's, a Mexican restaurant in Carmel. Loren & Mari's is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Carmel, and L&M is very good, too. It doesn't surprise me that this second restaurant is a banger. I got the birria torta, which was excellent. It came with a small dish of birria juice studded with chopped onion and cilantro. You dunk that sandwich in the juice and you're golden. I wish I could have finished the whole birria sandwich, but it was huge, and I also forgot that birria is typically made with goat meat, which I can only eat a little bit of at a time because I feel like it tastes gamey. This birria was very good though, so if you like goat, you will love this. The burritos are always good at Loren & Mari's, so we got the Jalapeño Creme Burrito on a whim, and it turned out to be a great decision. You'll find things like quesadillas, cemitas, salads, fajitas, taquitos (they call them tacos durados) and other things here. But I think L&M is known for their tacos and burritos. They have specials, and one of their specials is tacos and a beer. They sell beer here! read more

Now, the ambiance... it's a great place to grab some tacos and a beer. It kinda has a dark, divey feel to it that works well for a Mexican joint. Lastly the food... overall it was flavorless. I've never had a more bland Mexican meal. We ordered two entrees and two kids meals and an order of guac and queso. Everything was mid. Beans were bland. Rice was bland and dry. Steak had zero seasoning. Chicken was just chicken. Salsas are okay, nothing special. Even the cheese dip was underwhelming. We wanted something for dessert, but they don't make anything fresh. Getting carry out. It's not been open too long. Decent selection of foods, including tortas and cemitas. I love quesadillas and shrimp was an option, so.... Plenty of parking. No alcohol. This place is now my new favorite spot close to where I live! I love that their lunch portions are enough to fill me up. I got their lunch combo 2 tacos w/ a full corn om a cob. You can choose either steak or chicken. I got their chicken tacos and wow I honestly try to avoid chicken when it comes to Mexican food but I saw how juicy it looks and had to try it and let me tell you, I am SO glad I did!! Their chicken is phenomenal! Seasoned to perfection. They do load it up with a lot of onions, I always ask for light onions. And of course their corn on a cob is sooooo good! Service was very friendly and helpful. They do have a number of authentic items, including cabeza. Our go to item is the steak tacos. They are seasoned well and simple with a good amount of meat. Warning that they do have fresh onion and cilantro, just the way we like them. You will get red and green sauce - the green is amazing and the milder sauce. The red is good, but too spicy for me! The 3 tacos meal does come with rice and beans. You can eat in or take out. I have only ever done take out. The inside is very simple, nothing fancy. They also do not serve margaritas.
