Did an online delivery order for their recently added nacho entrée and unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. I'm not sure if it was the way it was packaged, but it definitely did not meet my expectations. Presentation matters, and maybe this is just a difficult item to make look appetizing for takeout, but it didn't match the photos or description at all. I have been coming to this Torchy's for years and have somehow failed to give it my review. This place is always clean and the staff is always nice. I like to go in and go straight to the bar and order there. Bartenders are always nice and attentive. Today I ordered the Airstream salad and it was fresh and delicious! I added grilled chicken to get some protein and it was juicy and yummy. It has just enough kick to make your nose run a bit but not enough to make you need to stop and take a drink. This is the perfect choice for ordering a salad when you're sick of salads. There are so many flavors going on you don't pay much attention to the lettuce. The queso is my all time favorite! Sometimes I'll bring a bag of pork rinds to eat with my queso so I don't eat so many tortilla chips. So good! read more

The atmosphere is upbeat without being overwhelming...perfect for grabbing a casual meal with friends or just treating yourself to some seriously good tacos. The staff is always friendly and on top of things, which makes the experience even better. The tacos here are so good. My personal favorites are the Trailer Park Trashy (I keep the lettuce!) and the Chicken Fajita..,both are packed with flavor and always hit the spot. Torchy's is my mom and husband's tradition! They go every time she's in town. They order the matador off the not so secret menu, queso, guac and typically a peg leg. We typically go to the one off Rosedale but switched it up this go around. What a surprise, too! While there's no patio, this location has great seating options. I'd say it's bigger and it'd be easier to eat with a group here. The service was your go-to Texas care: kind and efficient. We really appreciated Torchy's new menu that allows you to order half orders of apps and sides. We took advantage of this with guac, queso and street corn. I recently moved from California to Fort Worth and was on the search for a taco spot. I went in with low expectations since being from Southern California- best tacos. I would say these tacos were very good. The tacos had the option of corn or flour tortilla. We ordered the queso with chips- the queso was to excellent but who doesn't love cheese. My boyfriend ordered the grande burrito with steak and I ordered 3 Baja shrimp tacos with Diablo sauce, chipotle sauce and avocado salsa. We also got the elote! All the food was delicious and portions were generous. The spot had a huge parking lot so parking was not an issue. Service was quick. I love the fact they have a rewards system for every time you order- as a newbie- I received a free queso with chips. First time to try Torchys. Went during lunch, lines moved fast, staff was nice, place is clean and nicely done. I had the Democrat which is Barbacoa and the beef fajita taco both on corn. Both tacos were piled w meat and fixings. They looked beautiful. But here's the bottom line. They both taste bland, like basically nothing. Corn tortilla IMO is too thick. Barbacoa was weak. Fajitas was more of a cheap chopped thin skirt steak. I've a lot of tacos all over the state from the streets to restaurants. This just ain't all that great. If I could choose 3.5, that's what I would do, but I decided to round up since the food was still good. The tacos at torchy's are great but this location is lacking in cleanliness and they totally should've built a patio! We ordered the taco of the month with plantains and it was fantastic and filling. That 1 taco with chips and queso that I shared filled me up! I also love the salsas they make here. They have such good heat and flavor. I really love torchy's because their green chili queso is awesome and their tacos fill me up. We order delivery a lot through a third party, but have also dined in numerous times. The last 6 out of 7 times (yes we're keeping a track record) we have ordered for delivery, our order has something missing. Today it was getting flour instead of corn tortillas in the fajita plate, and my husband it gluten free. Lots of times it's missing sauces that go with the taco, but I've even received a breaded Baja shrimp taco with just corn tortilla and a tablespoon of filling with no shrimp. John the manager seems to really care so that's the only reason I put a star. Hopefully he refunds me tomorrow, he's even offered to run the food to me himself. Something about this location smells awful. Every time we come we're taken aback by how it smells like a gas station bathroom. We've been coming here since they've opened every time it gets worse. It's only this location not sure what the deal is. Something is just ever so slightly off with the food too. We've been coming to torchy's for over 10 years and something about this location is always something half a step down than other Torchy's. Ordinarily I am a huge fan of green chili; however, this particular dish was so over-the-top spicy, I had a hard time enjoying my lunch due to the heat index. This was my 1st time there and a few of the others had been there before and continuously talked it up during the ride to location. Driving from California to Texas on the way through to Alabama I wasn't sure what type of foods we were going to experience along our journey. For some reason, I have been on a real taco kick the past few weeks. However, I still think that this taco shop is the best that it gets. I discovered Torchy's a few years ago when the only one close was the one on Northton Street just off of West Rosedale near downtown Fort Worth. My first trip there consisted of waiting in line outside and inside for more than half an hour, thinking, "Damn, these tacos better be good." I was not disappointed. Five stars do not come easy from me, but Torchy's consistently earns them. Thankfully, Torchy's has expanded from its original food truck in Austin and you can now find locations popping up all around. The Hulen Street location is my go-to taco shop now and I make it there, at the very least, once a month just to see what their Taco of the Month is. Today I selected one of their Beef Fajita tacos, a Baja Shrimp taco (of which they mistakenly gave me two and then compensated the extra because of the mistake) and the Taco of the Month: the Tailgater, made of panko fried chicken, chopped bacon, poblano ranch slaw and blue cheese crumbles, with their diablo wing sauce and a dribble of hone. Wow! You simply cannot go wrong at Torchy's. Something there will fit your appetite and your tastes. Proceed with caution, though, because some of their selections are truly on fire and not for the faint of pallet. The service is always friendly, fast and the food is magnificent. Their motto is, "Damn good tacos," and it couldn't be more accurate. So, if you are driving along and you see a little pitchfork holding devil advertising some tacos, do yourself a favor and try out Torchy's for some food truck quality food, served up right. read more

So tried to come back to this place after 10 terrible previous tries. Walked in to order one child's taco togo. There were 5 people at the bar, and 5 tables of people in the entire restaurant. I ordered a child's taco togo. This was at 8:32pm. The line was long but went down quickly and the range of soft tacos on the menu is good. Personal preference I don't like super spicy so I had the democrat, barbacoa beef and avocado on a corn tortilla and the Alabama shake, crusted catfish and avocado on a flour tortilla. Both were great flavours and come out tasting fresh and warm, they were very full tacos, good portion size. We also shared the hillbilly queso and chips which was great flavours.
