Spring Rolls with Seared Tuna (Gỏi Cuốn)
    Stephanie T.

Our first visit in and we were blown away by the service and the food. All day happy hour on Sundays is a definite plus. We ordered the seared ahi spring rolls (SO fresh) and a noodle dish to go. The Vietnamese coffee martinis were scrumptious. Vibe was very chill and quiet enough to have good convo.

The food and atmosphere here is great. I had the beef pad Thai and it was great but lacking the true Thai flavors. The waiters are very polite and friendly.

I love Malai Kitchen. We went in for lunch and sat on the patio with my pup. The service was great and the food was excellent. Overall, a good experience and we will be back.

We were craving Asian food and decided to come to Malai kitchen. I am very appreciative that they have a free parking garage because this area gets very crowded and has limited street parking. Once we got to Malai we were seated pretty quickly and we sat out on their patio. It was a beautiful day and the patio has some nice covering, so, it wasn't super sunny. Once we were seated, our waitress came by and got our drink orders and answered questions on the menu. My husband got the chicken wings for an appetizer and he asked for the mild option. When they came out they had jalapenos on them. The manager Karissa, brought them to our table, and when she realized the mistake, she immediately took them back and made sure that they came back correctly. I ordered the lunch special for Friday. Which was glass, noodles and I got it with tofu. My husband and kid got the fried rice. While we waited for our food, they also bought out complementary, sticky rice with a very tasty dipping sauce. My husband loved the wings when they came out and they were huge. They were so big, he had to take most of them to go. When we got our food, our portion sizes were also very large. I was pleasantly surprised, especially because I got special. So I assumed that my food might be half the size but it looked like it was a full size. It was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I wanted a little more spice and they brought me out chilis so that I could add them to my dish. I wanted to try their in-house drinks, but they are brewery. I'm not a big beer drinker but, the manager still brought me a sample just to make sure I wasn't missing out on something I might like it. It wasn't for me but I appreciate the hospitality. I passed on a drink but we enjoyed the patio seating. The consistent customer service that we got, especially from the manager and the food was superb. We will definitely go back. Hopefully during the week, so we can take advantage of another lunch special.

Very cute interior and good service. Chicken dish was fine, and ahi tuna spring rolls were good. Did not care for the green curry at all, had a very strange flavor. This meal was just okay, but wouldn't come back.

Yellow Curry Bowl with chicken and Side of Jasmine Rice

I wasn't a huge fan of Thai food, but that changed once I came to Malai Kitchen! I ordered the yellow curry bowl with chicken and jasmine rice, and it was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I don't have a huge spice tolerance, so I got mild spice for the curry, and it had the perfect amount of spice for me. We were thankfully able to make a same day reservation on a Sunday for a party of 8. The servers were so kind and even boxed up our leftovers for us. We were seated in a side room, which had plenty of bright lighting. However, I feel like the main dining area had a cozier ambiance with stylish light fixtures and booth seating. There is plenty of lot parking available around the Clearfork area, along with complimentary garage parking. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my first experience at Malai Kitchen, and will most definitely be coming back to try some of their other curry options!

This place was phenomenal. The service was in point. The food was on point and the ambiance was great for a date, business arrangement, or a solo meal. I really enjoyed the food and the servings was right in point for the price. If you like Thai food, this place is a must. I went for lunch with some colleagues. You won't be disappointed.

Shrimp Pad Thai Pad kee mow
    Jennifer J.

We've been wanting to try this place. First off, the restaurant is kept very clean and all of the staff are very attentive to your table even if you already have a waiter/waitress assigned, so I love the teamwork. My boyfriend ordered the medium spiced Pad Kee Mow with chicken and it was really yummy and flavorful, but a little too spicy for my liking. The noodles were good and had the perfect chew to it and our waitress said they make it in house, so that was nice. I ordered their Pad Thai which also had great flavor, but it didn't taste like the traditional pad Thai. You can taste the flavor of it being cooked on the wok and the pickled bean sprouts gave a different twist to the dish. That's the pink and yellow toppings on the dish. Again, it's not something I'm used to with my pad Thai, so that seemed like a creative take on it. What I feel it was lacking was the tamarind flavor, which is the signature flavor of Pad Thai, so I was a little disappointed on that. Overall, a pretty nice Thai place to visit.

    Drunken Noodles (served burnt)
    Keke K.

I went to Malai Thai for dinner recently, and honestly, it was a big letdown. I started with the Thai chicken wings (bone-in), and I was actually surprised by how much I liked them. I'm usually not a big fan of bone-in wings, but the flavor was super authentic. Definitely a nice way to kick off the meal. For my main, I got the Pad See Ew with chicken, and this was a huge disappointment. The noodles were completely burnt. I could smell it and taste it right away. I mentioned it to the server who offered to replace it for us but I reused. I couldn't believe something that burnt even made it to the table. Definitely not what I expected. I also got the pineapple fried rice, and this one was just okay. It was slightly overcooked and had a faint burnt taste again, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the Pad See Ew. It was still decent enough to eat, but nothing special. The seared scallops with noodles were fine. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. The real star of the night was the peanut-encrusted ruby trout, hands down my favorite dish. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the sauce it came with, kind of a coconutty tomato lime sauce, was really good. Even the rice was served with this green sauce that I really enjoyed. At the end, they served sticky rice, which was fine, pretty standard, nothing to rave about. Overall, I went in expecting a lot more from this place. Some dishes were decent, but the burnt food was unacceptable. I didn't order anything else after that just because of how off-putting the burnt dish was. Otherwise, I would have gotten dessert, which I was really craving, but I ended up skipping it and getting something else down the street instead.

    Sticky rice with mango
    Erika M.

Each dish is its on explosion of flavors and aromas. You have to try for yourself to find your favorite! Flavors are more authentic and not your traditional Americanized Thai food so be prepared to really taste the spices and ingredients. Great service and ambience. Good portion sizes and great prices. Parking can be challenging at times due to the location but worth everything including the parking structure is only a short distance walk away.

Do you have low sodium options?

I didn't see anything on the menu that was low sodium. My partner has HBP and she did fairly well though (didn't feel bad after) when we ate the yellow curry!

Is this is a good place for a first date?

Yes absolutely it's a little upscale but not too fancy. It's busy so there's not awkward convo. Nearby there is a movie theater and gelato shop. And the food has plenty of options for everyone!

Would this be a good place to celebrate a birthday? 😊

Yes, we took our friend and celebrated her birthday and we enjoyed it so much. The food was amazing.

Do you have to make a reservation or can you show up and request a table?

Hi Kay! Great question! We certainly seat walk-in's but always recommend a reservation to minimize potential wait times. Give us a call at (682) 707-3959 and we'll be happy to take your reservation! We look forward to seeing you soon!

    Do you serve Udon noodles?

Hi Austin, We do no have udon noodles however we DO have some other delicious types of noodles... flat and thin rice noodles, glass noodles and more! Please check our menu out at: http://www.malaikitchen.com/dinner…

    Are there gluten free options?

Hi Stephanie! Great question! Much of our menu can be prepared gluten-free. Let your server know when you get in that you don't eat gluten and they can help you with your decision. I hope that helps! Hope to see you soon!

While it was a lovely experience in a stunning environment, it fell a bit short of the high bar you'd expect for a $95/pp tea service. The Good: First and foremost, the environment is absolutely beautiful. The Bowie House, Bricks & Horses restaurant, and the Mulberry Room itself are gorgeously decorated with a sophisticated Texas Western theme. The atmosphere in the Mulberry library is intimate and visually striking. Additionally, the service was excellent from start to finish, being both attentive and professional. The food portions are quite generous, with both the savories and sweets served together on a single tower. The sweets were the highlight of the food, as they were very delicious and surprisingly large. We also really enjoyed the tea selections themselves, particularly the Earl Grey and the plum rooibos. The Letdowns: Unfortunately, a few details missed the mark, especially considering the premium price point: - The "Champagne": The experience is advertised as including a glass of Champagne, but we were actually served Prosecco. At nearly $100 a person, substituting Prosecco for real Champagne or Cremant is a major disappointment. - The Tea Service: Instead of receiving a teapot to enjoy throughout the afternoon, the tea is steeped directly in the cup. This limits you to a single cup per tea variety, though to be fair, I didn't ask if refills were an option. - Food Refinement: While the portions were large and the savories were tasty, they lacked the elegance of a traditional tea. Every savory option was open-faced and heavily blanketed in microgreens and edible flowers, which felt a bit unrefined. - Comfort & Conversation: The Mulberry library features low couches, deep chairs, and coffee tables. While this setup would be absolutely perfect for relaxing with a glass of whiskey, it makes leaning over to eat finger foods highly uncomfortable. Furthermore, the seating layout isn't ideal for holding a natural conversation with the people in your party. Overall: It is a nice experience in a breathtaking Fort Worth hotel, but I'm not sure I would return. If the price point were lower, the execution would make more sense. However, given the other highly refined afternoon tea options available across DFW for less money, this one doesn't quite live up to its price tag.

They auction the food to tables since they don't know what food goes to who. It's the little things like You ask for something like salt and pepper and they deliver it to the end of the table to pass it down rather walk two feet and hand it to you. (Yes the person was sitting on the outside). Same with hot sauce. With how loud it was it was hard to talk and the people next to us were hollering. Definitely not a nice place to take a family to sit and enjoy company of all. Plus with the "policy" of not replacing items so not taking care of customers...beware. I even told them I expected more from a place that looked like it would be a great place. They did nothing. Don't think my family will be going back. Update: I stepped out early and come to find out they told my family to leave since our reservation wasn't long enough? Waiting 20 min for water and a pen for the bill since it was already gratted and then the family needs to leave. Horrible customer experience.

Want a southern Louisiana breakfast in Fort Worth? Check out Fixe Southern House in ClearFork…read more Sunday brunch was so nice. Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. Thank you for the VIP service at Fixe Southern House. Resident discount applied. Born from Opelousas, Louisiana, breakfast served with a huge helping of southern hospitality. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

However the bathroom sinks may just be an elaborate prank pulled on every guest of this hotel. There are many photos already on here, but the pictures don't do it justice. The sink is approximately 7" x 12", and has a mirror jutting out over a portion of it, leaving you with roughly 4-5" of functional sink space. This will be the smallest sink you've ever used in your life (and I've spent lots of time in NYC and Chicago, where I've used some very small sinks). Need to wash your hands? You're getting water on your feet. Shave? Better wear a bathing suit. Wash your face? A wetsuit is recommended. Accidentally turn the water on too high when doing any of the above? Bet you didn't know you were about to take a full shower! I'm not sure the building codes in Dallas, but apparently you can get away with installing dollhouse fixtures here. Choose another property just simply so you don't have to deal with the hassle.

Overall the room was very nice.. I was surprised by the complete cement room but shockingly it was perfect, the bed is comfortable however the pillows are very big. My neck does not do well with thick pillows and these were very thick. The bar was mediocre and the bar tender struggled to keep up with customers and wasn't very friendly. Overall it was a good hotel and a fun experience.
