I ordered the Lil Nookies, and they brought those out first, ten minutes before they even brought out the tacos, so by the time we were ready for dessert the nookies were cold. There was a hair in my brothers burrito first bite into it thank god he spit it out & we left. They were rude about it only wanted to refund the burrito instead of the entire meal we didn't touch. Very good tacos with many options. The only thing is they can sometimes be WAY too oily, like oil literally dripping out of the tacos, even after you try and sop it up with paper towels. If that doesn't bother you, go right ahead! The ingredients I've gotten always taste fresh and the meat has very little fatty parts or gristle. It's filling and not too pricey. Quality has slipped tremendously at this location since it opened - and the irony is that my wife and I can spend a similar amount at Lupe Tortilla, a full service restaurant, and have a much better experience. This torchies ether fills the tacos up overflowed (the way it's supposed to be like the first torchies Austin location) OR they are scared to put anything in the taco. Which makes me so mad because all you get is (trailer park for example) a chicken strip and not enough lettuce. Or if you get the republican you get sausage and a pinch of cheese. We usually go on Saturdays for breakfast and a bloody mary. The tacos are always flavorful and the choice of sauces is great! Have gone for lunch before as well and noticed they were not as good as breakfast. Prices are decent, but sometimes you do have to wait a little while for your food. The food overall is really good, can never complain! However when ordering I asked for no cheese bc I am allergic and for my shrimp to be grilled. I didn't think it would be much of a hassle, but when my food arrived the shrimp was fried and I had cheese. When I told the lady my food was wrong she took it back and I had to wait another 15 mins for my food to arrive and when it did it was portioned very small compared to the one I was first served. My daughter ordered from them online and realized they didn't deliver. So she called and cancelled the order and ordered through door dash. I ended up being charged for both orders. This was over a month ago. I have talk to 2 managers who both claimed they would send a gift card in the mail instead of refunding me the extra $20+ that they charged me and I've yet to receive it. I actually went there this morning for breakfast and the cashier asked if I've ever been there before. I was like actually....and started explaining the situation. She had no input or comment and I just thought to myself, I'm about to drop another $20 on some tacos, they better be good (my children ate here the first few times). I got the ranch hand and the wrangler. My son had a bacon, egg and cheese and my hubby got the same thing that I got. I also go the Mexican corn. I have to say, my first thought when eating each taco was, maybe I should have gotten corn tortillas instead of flour? It was my first time getting the corn. They were wrapped in foil, so I was surprised when less than 10 minutes later, we get home and the tacos are barely even warm. But again, they weren't anything that would have me racing back there to get breakfast tacos and they're just down the street. They through random sauces in the bag and none of them were appealing to us. As far as my refund is concern. The guy in the bar asked if I wanted something to drink while I waited and I asked for water.............which I didn't receive. NO one from the wait staff addressed me afterwards until they could see I was getting perturbed. 20 min later my 2 tacos were brought to me for take out. I felt the 2 foil packs and was disappointed they weren't hot, just a bit warm. I drove home, about 5 min, and was disappointed these weren't the best tacos ever. Good, but not the best. Great tacos horrible staff. It always seems like I'm bothering the cashier while placing my order. The bar tenders are usually indifferent about your preferences and look at you like your beneath their reproach. I made a to go order using their web site while I was eating in their . I waited 30 minutes then went to the bar to pick it up on my way out it wasn't ready. I waited 15 minutes for the bartender to come back and tell me one of the orders wasn't available and asked if I wanted something instead. I asked why they waited till I got there to start my order. This place is always busy lines out the door it made me want to try it even more, so finally got a chance. I got to say their menu is not like others this is order one taco at at time for a hefty price under five more then four a bit to much for their meet in one taco . I had the barbacoa, carnitas, and the poblano they where dry not enough flavor the cilantro cheese not bad addition it made it taste a bit better their corn tortillas are great and their super spicy sauce is the best but that is it.... I will not be coming back there is nothing like making tacos at home for six for the price of two at Torchy's they need to go back and learn real Mexican tacos. read more
