I used to come here everyday for lunch but it's gone down hill pretty rapidly. Today I decided to give it another try after months I noticed it was not busy at all I was the only person inside. I'm telling the freebirds employees what I want in my bowl and they a don't have any veggies cooked which I find pretty unprepared. So you are telling me there is no one in here and yall aren't stocked up? Chips are NOT freshly fried. They are from a bag fried who know when. The chips were stale and not crispy. Disgusting. Potatoes were so hard and dried out the cheap plastic forks can't even pierce them. Lots of cross contamination between ingredients. Cheese was in the corn and lettuce. I have a dairy allergy so I can't risk having even a little cheese. Then they wanted $24 for my lunch. I had to question the prices and they kept explaining that it was $2 extra for nachos and $2 extra for guacamole. I said so that doesn't add up to $24. Apparently they double charged me for an extra protein. First time at free birds. Will never go back. Where do I begin. Brought my family to this location and wow how disappointed were we. First off there was only 1 person working and she was slow as I've ever seen. You could tell she did not want to be there. The bathrooms were atrocious you could only imagine what the kitchen looked like. The tables and soda fountains needed to be cleaned absolutely dirty as I've ever seen. Meh. Average. Nothing special. Meeeehhhhh. A Chipotle competitor. I ordered from here because of a video I saw on YouTube. A guy by the name of Mr. ChimeTime gave it a good review so I gave into the hype. I ordered the low-carb burrito with steak, chicken, and other Ingredients you probably don't care about. It was a bit salty but wasn't horrible. I honestly think the ingredients at Chipotle are better. I do appreciate the variety of their menu and having a low carb version of a tortilla is a huge win in my book though. I would probably try it again since it's a quick spot to eat. We stopped by this location in Katy and were thoroughly disappointed. We usually go to the locations up in Cypress or Bunker Hill and they are awesome. However, in Katy they don't do kids bowls meaning we couldn't get our kids' meals comped dispite coming in on a Sunday. In order for my 5 year olds to have a rice bowl they had to ring it up as a grown up bowl even though the portion was very small due to them only wanting rice, meat, and cheese. To add insult to injury when I tried to order a salad I was told they don't do spring mix on salads anymore either. I'm sorry but shredded lettuce is a burger topping not a salad base. So, I chose not to eat which helped with the cost since we had to pay full price for each of our kids. Additionally, when I took one of my 5 year olds into the bathroom one stall was backed up and couldn't be flushed. The other had toilet paper strung all over it. This location is by far the worse location I've been to. Customer service sucked and it was about as clean as a gas station bathroom. I would hope that Freebirds would have higher standards for their locations. read more

Freedom isn't free, and neither is Freebirds, but even if it was, I wouldn't eat here often. I used to love these kinds of burritos, but lately I've been noticing that they're just not very good. Freebirds is a good experience in this location, and is a lot better than literally any other FB I've ever been to in the Houston area, which is why I give it a good review, but let's not kid ourselves. I love all of the options they have on the menu now for choice of meats and veggie options, as well as how you want yout food (burrito, bowl, salad, tacos, quesadilla, etc.) Ordering for curbside is super easy on the app and makes to-go orders a breeze! They are one of the few places that still have Kids Eat Free promotions (on Sunday, buy an adult entree and get a kids entree free), with lots of options for kids to choose from, too. And you can get this deal in store or To-Go/Curbside! Their points aren't as good as they used to be, as in it takes a lot more purchases to get free items now and I don't think they have combo options anymore (where you pay like $3 for a side of chips/salsa and a drink)...but I could be wrong. I haven't seen the signage for that anywhere. ‍ Still, Freebirds is great and their queso is delicious with thin, crispy chips they have. I loved Freebirds so much I had to make sure that I got a monster burrito on this trip back home. But I committed the mistake of ordering online. The burrito was not mixed well. The sour cream requested was not there and the Prime Rib was blah. I should have been more patient to order in person to see how much sour cream was given & to actually taste the prime rib. Followed by instruct the employee on how to mix the burrito so that every bite has Some mix of flavor not just rice for bites on end before I taste another veggie. read more

The workers intentionally gave as small and possible and the flavorful was mediocre. When asking for a bit more it was not welcomed. I would've enjoyed it better had I even had enough queso on my chips or even a bigger cup of water. The water cup was the size of a baby cup. Not to mention the water was the most enjoyable part of this experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone. This franchise needs to be completed gone; honestly. Sept. 30th visit-Not a good experience for a $53.65 purchase. First off the food was to be delivered and after 45 minutes of waiting we decided to call the store and tell them we are picking it up. After confirming self-pickup, I get to the store and the food is gone. They tell me it was picked up despite confirming the self-pickup with us. Seemed to be a breakdown in communication for the order to not be picked up by delivery driver or at least put elsewhere for us. So, I'm there at the store and the food is gone, I'm upset but still respectful. I head back home and there's a long black hair in our food, we are utterly disgusted. My partner takes the food back to the store and they offer to replace, but we decline and asked for a full refund. We received a signed note from one of the workers stating a refund, since there was no manager on duty (which is interesting to say there was no leadership involved), for a refund the following day. Of course this does not happen and we get a number to corporate. We were contacted about the issue and they stated they will call back and follow up. No one did. We sent an email on the 10th of Oct. and there's still no feedback. So we paid to essentially not eat anything that night. read more

I'm from California and I love Chipotle. I was looking for something similar in Houston but more with like a Tex Mex taste. This place did exactly that! I was really excited when I saw a line because I immediately thought it was a popular spot. Service was quick and the staff was very nice and patient to answer my questions. My coworker got a massive burrito and my burrito bowl was towering over. Portions here are HUGE. I normally don't eat a lot but I made three meals out of my burrito bowl. We both agreed that the food was fresh and quite delicious, but doesn't beat Chipotle.
