I love Tijuana-style tacos! I adore Mexican food I love this style--*vampiritos de asada* are my favorites! The service was quick and nicely. The place is decorated in a colorful, urban style.

The place is clean, love the atmosphere and vibes. I Tried the tacos and fries and elote. So good! The lemonade was fresh and tasted natural. I'd definitely come back. The taste is very authentic Mexican food.

Torta was good. It was loaded with beef. I wish the bread would hold a little better. It was delicious. Service was good. Enjoyed the complimentary pork rinds.

I came here with my friend who is from Tijuana. He has been talking about this place for ages! We had the quesabirria tacos, asada tacos and an order of chips and guacamole. Let me start off by saying I don't even like guacamole and I loved it here! Everything was so delicious and made so fresh. The place was so crowded with a line out the door. They had someone come up and let us know it would be about 25-35 minutes after we ordered for our food to be ready. The line moved quickly and the food came out faster than anticipated. It was obviously worth the wait and they also brought around free chicharrones to our table for us to snack on! Everyone on the staff was so nice and you could tell everyone there was excited to eat :) Can't wait to go back for ALL the quesabirria and guac!

Drove an hour and a half round trip to try this place--and let me tell you, it was so worth it. I'd make the drive again in a heartbeat for these tacos. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. There was a line of people out the door, which honestly reassured me that this spot was legit. Despite the dinner rush, the line moved quickly, and tables were turning over efficiently. The staff clearly had their system down--taking orders, clearing tables, and keeping everything flowing without missing a beat. The place was packed, but it didn't feel chaotic--just lively and well-run. Now for the food--absolutely phenomenal. I tried the asada tacos, adobada tacos, a side of charro beans with asada and cheese, churros, and chicharrones. Not a single miss. The tacos were filled to the brim with meat--generous portions that truly give you bang for your buck. The charro beans with asada and cheese had me skeptical at first, but wow--flavorful, hearty, and delicious. The complimentary chicharrones were a nice touch to snack on while waiting for our food. And the churros? Light, fluffy, fresh out of the fryer, and perfectly dusted with cinnamon. The perfect end to a perfect meal. By the end of the night, the plates were wiped clean and everyone left full and happy. If you're looking for a taco spot that delivers on flavor, portions, and overall experience--Tacos Frontera is it.

La comida estaba muy rica, especialmente la torta, todo tenía muy buen sabor. El único problema fue que hubo bastante tiempo de espera para recibir la comida, pero fueron muy amables!

A Tijuana-Style Taco Gem in Houston Let me put y'all on real quick! Tacos Frontera has hands down the best Tijuana-style tacos I've had in Houston so far. No debate. It's always busy (which says a lot), but so worth the wait every single time. My go-to? The chicken tacos LOADED with guacamole -- juicy, flavorful, and layered with that street-style realness. And their horchata? BABY. It's creamy, perfectly spiced, and lowkey addictive. Yes, it's small inside and yes, it's fast-paced, but that's part of the charm. Feels like a little slice of Tijuana right here in the city. And luckily for me, it's close enough to swing by on a weekday when the crowds aren't as wild. If you know, you know. And if you don't -- now you do. Run, don't walk.

My hubby is born & raised SoCa and TJ, so we were excited to try this taco shop! No joke, this is the real deal! Anyone who has transplanted from SoCa must try this place!! It's like a little home away from home. The carne asada is fantastic and the queso birria is tdf. Fish tacos aren't on the menu but you can still order them!! Carne asada burrito delicious.. The portions are huge. Everything we've ordered has been authentic and delicious.. MUST TRY THE JALAPEÑO SAUCE on the table!! So satisfying.

The tacos are so good at Tacos Frontera. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quick.

Great food, great service, and great ambiance! The music is a bit loud, but no big deal. The tacos are fresh and delicious--everything is fresh. I wouldn't get the sausage ones, but everything else is great. The burritos are huge, and they're not stingy with the amount of meat you get in your food. I definitely recommend this place to all taco lovers and to anyone looking to try a different type of taco. Everything is great--I'll go again, and I highly recommend anyone to check it out!

Inside it is a one room eatery with counter service. My first visit was to try the Birria Burrito for $16 with the meal delivered about 10 minutes later. It consisted of their Birria meat cooked for 4 hours mixed with chorizo, cheese, rice, beans and sour cream all wrapped in a large flour tortilla seasoned with their special red colored seasoning. With the meal came a cup of consomne'. Guy Fieri would say, Welcome to Flavortown! It was delicious. The Birria beef was so tender and the flavored flour tortilla with that proprietary red seasoning they use was perfect. It was a very filling meal and well worth the price. So much so, I thought about it the next day. Another visit was to try one of their specialities, the Quesabirria for $14. This meal consisted of 3 grilled and crispy corn tortillas seasoned again with their special red colored magic dust. The tortillas had the delicious Birria meat and cheese inside and I again loved them. The tortillas are only slightly crispy and the meat, cheese and tortillas memorable. This meal also came with a cup of consommé for dipping. Another nice thing about eating here is the customer service. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The guy bussing the tables acted more like the owner than an employee with his helpfulness and the actual manager came out to check on us. Impressive for a counter service restaurant. Tacos Dona Lena deserves its reputation as one of the best restaurants of its kind. Incredible food and employees all at very reasonable prices.
