Just wanted to take time to give Scott P. some kudos. He answered the phone while I was making a catering order. Scott was so patient to answer all of my questions, help me cancel one order and walked me through placing another one. He made the interaction so pleasant to the point, I told him he was my 9-1-1 operator. He would not get off the phone until he saw the second order come through. This is by far my favorite Torchy's. It looks like the negative reviews are towards Torchy's in general which is unfair as this place really shines. The quality is always top notch and Nichelle is the sweetest most considerate team member. After a long day I know I can come here and she'll know exactly my order (and its very specific!) - If that's not customer service than I don't know what is. And c'mon the QUESO is unmatched and has the perfect heat and flavor. The place is also always clean and I really like the way its structured with the bar area and dining area. I had such a great experience at Torchy's Tacos in Pflugerville today and wanted to recognize the manager, Scott. He was incredibly kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely made sure I was taken care of. As someone who works in management, I really appreciate great customer service and strong leadership when I see it. Scott was approachable, helpful, and made me feel valued as a customer. You can tell he truly cares about the guest experience and represents Torchy's extremely well. It's easy to leave reviews when something goes wrong, so I think it's just as important to recognize someone who goes above and beyond. There ain't nothing more Austin than eating at Torchy's Tacos. And that counts even if we are talking Pflugerville. Pfluger Pfolks are just Pfreaky in their own Pfloodle-be-doodle way. * * * I am always happy when I eat at a Torchy's. I usually can't resist eating a Democrat, a Republican or an Independent simply for the obvious X-rated jokes that led to the tacos getting that name. For some reason, those jokes never appealed to me at Voodoo Donuts when they were totally catering to that line of thinking. And yet, even at the age of 71, I still get titillated eating the appropriate taco at Torchy's. I also get complete and total little kid thrills when I order off the secret menu. You know how four year olds or seven year olds just love it when you take them down a "secret" path or you show them a "secret" door? I get that way when I order off the secret menu. Yeah the tacos on that menu are more expensive than the regular tacos more elaborate than the regular tacos and are neither better nor worse than the regular tacos. I still like asking for the menu and feeling like an insider. Even if that means paying $2 more for my taco for the thrill. * * * I went with nachos this time ... Because they were running a nacho special ... And because nachos are one of my favorite comfort foods. Bad nachos are only fair rather than bad - because they are nachos. (Unless of course, there is a health department issue and you are scraping mold off of one of the chunks.) Good nachos are excellent - because they are nachos. The miniscule quirky locations gave Torchy's a Keep-Austin-Weird kind of charm. While I love that charm, I also love big and beautiful. And if that had been a drinking day, I would have loved that bar. They don't do the premium whiskey bottles I look for in a bar. But who is drinking $35 Japanese whiskey in a taco stand? (Or rather who is drinking $35 Japanese whiskey in a taco stand That is NOT on East Fifth Street under a new Yuppie apartment complex?) At Torchy's you get a margarita or maybe a tequila shot or maybe a Mexican martini, and you are done with it. If you are drinking beer, you are doing lager. * * * So Torchy's rings the right bells for me, And that includes the Torchy's in Pflugerville. However, a few items on the menu were missing like quesadillas and churros. I couldn't avail the free churros promo in my account due to its unavailability. Plugerville location. First time ever eating here. Stopped in for lunch. It was pretty packed. They have 2 kiosks and a cashier. We stood in line looking at menus waiting our turn. A kiosk opened up and my daughter put in our order. I got the taco two step. $9.95, 2 tacos, (I got the Baja shrimp) a drink and chips and salsa come with it . My daughter wanted the same, but the taco she wanted wasn't available on the taco 2 step. So she ordered 2 crossroad tacos and a drink. Total was like $30. Lots of dirty tables. My daughter wiped a table down for us so we could sit. People were everywhere trying to sit and it was kinda loud for my taste. Food arrived like 25 minutes later. Everything tasted ok, but my tacos were small and only had like 3 little shrimp. Later I looked at the receipt and they charged .99 cents extra for the shrimp tacos each on top of the $9.95 "deal" which i had no idea shrimp was extra or I wouldn't have ordered. Food was ok but I hate hidden charges esp having to pay an extra $2.00 for 6 little shrimpettes. Oh well, not my vibe, probably won't be back. read more

I'm surprised this Torchy's has average reviews. It's my favorite Torchys location. Spacious, great aesthetic, and a nice location surrounded by other stores and things to do. I'm not even huge on Torchy's itself but this location has never let me down and has given me the best meals and service of all the Torchy's I've been to. This trip we had their new nachos which were great, I hope they make that a permanent fixture on the menu. Again, I'm not a Torchy's guy but this location is gradually making me one! read more

Have had Torchy's so many times from 2016 to 2022, I remember the taste and the portions. This is not it. What I got was a pathetic shell of its former glory. Private equity ruins another one. Take something good, decrease quality, decrease portions, lower customer service, stop doing what brought people in the first place, and then increase prices. And there you go. Higher short term profits, higher margins for stakeholders, and lower quality, lower experience, and basically nothing left for the consumer until the whole brand collapses long term. Found my Tuesday spot for dinner while staying in the area! It's good for any day with the great rotating specials but for me Taco Tuesday it is! Great tacos and margaritas and even got turned on to the Torchy's Tini which comes in its own shaker. Diego was helpful in making some great recommendations and service was excellent. The service was fast and friendly, the kiosk was easy to use, and the portion sizes and food quality were consistent with other locations I've visited. One thing I did notice while waiting was that a lot of the delays seemed to come from customers not paying attention to the line moving forward, rather than the staff or service itself. Horrible service today 1/9/2026. I ordered online for pick up at 6:30pm. I arrive and I was waiting for 15-20 minutes with about 8 other people who were also there for pick up orders. They had been waiting for longer than I have and after I left they stayed waiting. I saw the manager be rude to a customer who was dining in and had been waiting for his food for 45min. When I finally got my order I just checked that the 2 tacos I ordered & the chips/queso were in the bag then I came back l home. When I arrived at home I realized they put onion on my tacos which I had specifically ordered without onion. Since I drove 30 min from Elgin to Pflugerville I ended up just throwing away my tacos as I am allergic to onion. Huge disappointment. read more

And they have the nerve to request a tip beforehand. Do like Uber...ask if If like to leave a tip AFTER I've picked up my order. Also, warm Dos Equis from the tap at the bar. I have been to this Torchy's location many times. It is always fantastic, all of the taco options are either good or great. I could go 5 star, but it is fast casual, and it is not always a perfect experience, but if 4.5 is an opotion I would go with that. Food is always cold! I came here a couple days ago because I love how transparent their menu is with allergens since I have a 15 mo with a severe egg allergy. I ordered the missionary style green carnitas , only flour tortilla ,no cheese or pickled onions. As well as one chicken baja and the new taco of the month (both no jalapeños) . And refried beans with rice combo for the little one. All the tacos came as is ( not the first time this happened. The last two times I came they also forgot to take off what I asked to be off the taco . All of the tacos were served cold as usual and the only hot thing was the rice and beans. I feel so disappointed leaving here since I didn't have a nice meals as I used to years ago. This location doesn't improve at all. And we ended our quick lunch with burnt churros as well. Highly disappointed with the service level and standards at this location. I'm a big fan of Torchy's, but this location has significant staffing concerns. Racist bartenders for one. Sat at one of the bar tops asked if we can order. Bartender was dismissive and said someone else will get back to us. Another bartender comes along and completely ignores us all together while serving everyone else at the bar. By the time a third employee comes along, I asked a gentleman who was responsible for serving my area which he politely pointed at the other two bartenders. At this point I don't trust those people serving my food or drinks so we left. Fix your staffing. Fire these racists. read more

Favorite location! Why? Because always great service, convenient location, good tastes perfect every time. Go around shop, do groceries, and then go to Torchy's for a great meal. Highly suggest their queso and chips and street corn. For tacos- Mofaux, Tipsy Chick. Their drinks have never disappointed me either. No specific suggestion though. Ooof. Corporate needs to get someone in here stat. I've been patronizing this location since I moved up here in 2018 (or whenever they opened up shortly thereafter) (having been an original fan of the Spicewood Springs location). Today, a weekday, I went at lunchtime and there was no one in line in front of me. I've never NOT had to wait in line at a Torchy''s (even in Amarillo, lol). Until today. Must be a fluke, right? Or maybe lots of folks have seen what I saw today and are making a better choice for lunch. First, the young woman who took my order couldn't have been nicer. (She and the bartender account for the 1 star.) Scanner broken. But was able to access my Torchy's loyalty account with my phone number. No biggie. Head to a table. It had been cleared but was still greasy and crumb-ridden. I asked the bartender for a cloth with which to clean it. She very cheerfully accommodated my request and was very nice when I returned it. Cleaning the table was a snap. Then I noticed the chair I was going to sit on and it looked as though it hadn't been wiped down in several days/weeks. Same with the other chair at the table. And the napkin dispenser was disgusting. No fresh lemon or lime for my tea. Again, would be nice. They've had it in the past. Surly food delivery person brings me my two dishes (in bowls). The sad little fried avocado bowl was easily 40% smaller than I have previously received here. It had maybe a tablespoon of refried beans (I think, I honestly couldn't tell if it was beans or just the chunky parts of the pico.) I even asked one of the employees if the fried avocado still came with refried beans. I couldn't find them. For my second bowl, I ordered grilled shrimp. A new item for me to order so I don't have a baseline to compare, but portion also so small it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. And I know I should have taken pics. My bad. But go yourself and prove me wrong. Everything is expensive these days, so the sticker shock wasn't for the price itself, but for the amount of food I got for $19 (tip included). I've never, before today, left Torchy's hungry after 2 tacos/bowls. I did today. And how do they, in the notorious cell signal "dead zone" of Stonehill, NOT provide free wi-fi? It's like they're actively trying to drive away business. And this isn't just a "one bad day and you're done" sitch. I've seen the signs of dwindling service, cleanliness and food quantity/quality creeping in over the last couple of years and just ignored it. Until today. They've crossed the "we really don't give a sh!t" Rubicon. Sadly, my years of touting/recommending Torchy's as one of Austin's leading "fast-taco" purveyor's has come to an end. Torchy's ... you use to be my go to now there are several taco spots that out shine you .... The fixins in my taco bowl were delightful. The rice corn, quac with a good ol torchys dressing was savory and held over all good flavor. The chicken..... it was over cooked, over seasoned and very dry. As far as my marg... I asked for it on the rocks and was given a frozen drink. I let the bartender who delivered my margarita know. She shrugged her shoulders and said that's what I order ... le sigh. The cashier who took my order, heard the bartenders response and apologized. I tried to tough it out and drink it ...but a frozen drink when it's 60 degrees gives me the worst chills. I informed the cashier. she apologized and ordered me a margarita on the rocks. Thanks my girl! Also Torchys it's 2025... please get some wifi! I have next to no signal in your restaurant. TL:DR: 666 VEGAN TACOS *devil emoji* *taco emoji* Even though I'm from CA, I have family in Texas and visit often. I remember when Torchy's used to be a food trailer serving drunken revelers late into the night. So now here I am visiting the biggest Torchy's I've personally visited in Pflugerville. It's got a huge outdoor patio! An entire dedicated bar! Plenty of booths and table seating! I usually don't go to Torchy's so often as it's never been very vegan-friendly (you have to make a ton of mods that take away from the original taste). However, I wanted to try their new VEGAN taco, the MoFaux! It features Cowboy-style beyond beef, with green chiles, grilled corn, peppers, avocado, cilantro, and topped with spicy Diablo sauce. The price of 1 taco after tax is exactly $6.66. \M/ So yeah...it's not a cheap taco, but at least it's a great number. And the other thing is that it is a BIG tac. They aren't kidding when they say it's fully loaded. The Beyond beef is cooked very well and is so flavorful. The veggies add freshness and a fabulous combination of textures. The Diablo sauce adds a great spicy kick and ties it all together. This location gets busy so tables can remain dirty after people leave and are not bussed quick enough and wait times can vary. There's also terrible internet/phone service in this area so trying to check in on Yelp or posting food pictures is a no-go, unfortunately. Wifi would be a great option to provide for guests in the future! Happy with the new vegan addition to the menu and hope they add more in the future! read more

This review has been a long time coming. My order arrived cold in the middle. Not just lukewarm. COLD. My husband tried my order too and was shocked because parts of it were warm while others were cold. I would love to take a tour of the processes they have in the kitchen because I suspect some of the ingredients aren't fresh or are frozen. Not sure what happened. I would have been fine eating it lukewarm but this was legitimately cold. I had it sent back and didn't receive a single apology for the crap quality. Then that same order also arrived partially cold. The server was really rude to me when I pointed it out. I am not surprised this establishment has such a poor rating. It's not a good place to eat and the people working there are unpleasant and the cooks don't know how to cook. There are way better places to eat in Austin. My queso was great! We had green chile pork tacos that melted in our mouths. Our food arrived on time and was just the right temperatur. We appreciated the attention that we received as well. We prefer to come to this Torchy's because of the atmosphere and the way it is laid out; we love the overall look. I had the best experience ever at Torchy's in Pflugerville. It was all thanks to Nichelle! From the moment I walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and clearly went above and beyond to make sure every single guest felt taken care of, even when it was busy. What really stood out was how, once the rush slowed down, she took the time and initiative to put together a separate vegan menu. It was to make it easier for me next time I come in, which will be so helpful! Before passing me the vegan menu she made, she even made sure my dine-in experience was great. (I ate outside, and yes, it was great from the cleanliness to the food.) I've never had an employee be so thoughtful and intentional about making sure I felt included and accommodated, especially when it comes to being in a busy place like Torchy's. People like Nichelle are rare, and she deserves all the recognition for her kindness, attention to detail, and outstanding customer service. I'll definitely be coming back, and I'll be telling everyone I know to do the same! read more
