We were in the mood for some Mexican food and decided on this place after reading through the 30+ reviews. There are plenty of five star reviews, although many of them were just two sentences long with no pics and I tend to dismiss those. Spoiler alert, the few poor reviews are more accurate. This place sits along busy W Pecan St and next to a collision center. The interior is fairly sparse, no frills with three flat screens playing Mexican music. We got here just after 5 PM on a Tuesday and parked in one of their six parking spaces. Their complementary chips and salsa are good, although the salsa is not at all spicy in the least. One important fact that all the previous yelpers failed to mention is that they do Not serve any alcoholic beverages. We were hoping for some margaritas, but that hope was dashed. That may also explain why we were the only two customers in the restaurant for most of the time. I decided on the beef enchiladas and substituted their canned refried beans for a bowl of charro beans. That was a mistake. The bowl of charro beans was basically a vegetable soup with 2 chunks of very unappetizing inedible fat in it and about 10 beans. Definitely not worth the $2 extra charge (3 tortillas were $2.25). The rice was fairly dry and flavorless as well. The enchiladas had very little flavor to them and we never saw a single slice of jalapeño anywhere in the mix. To be honest, the main course was reminiscent of microwaved leftovers. This place is geared more towards Mexican than Tex-Mex, but it seemed like a poor attempt either way. This is the perfect place to come if you have low expectations of Mexican food. Sadly, the tortilla chips were the highlight of the meal. On the plus side, the table service was very good and no charge for two waters. Not a place I would return to though. Food **, service****, vibe**, overall**1/2.

It's a Thursday night and I'm laying on the couch with an insatiable hunger. We've all been in that "nothing around me sounds good" mood. The only way to dig your way out is to get onto Yelp and start hunting for your next meal. A quick search unearthed a hidden gem, Los Magueyes Taqueria. To be honest, it was easier to find the restaurant on Yelp than it was on the road. You need to be paying attention to get the correct turn in. We walk in the front door and I already feel like family. The service is on point and our waitress made the entire experience enjoyable. Here's the line up: chips and guacamole, crispy taco plate and the enchilada plate. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Ordered egg & bacon taco & a lil disappointed, although the flavor was great. The taco filling was a lil (chinsy) small. The price was $2.50 for 2 items $.75 × toppings. My thought was maybe a slice of bacon or a thicker taco than what I got. It was more of a taquito. The red sauce was tasty & spicy. Restaurant was very clean, parking for 4 or 5 vehicles, not sure if they have overflow. Service was great!!

So good. There quéo blanco is soo addictive. We love the enchiladas. Their sauces are just amazing. Meats are flavorful and moist!

Great dishes..very reasonable great friendly service. Great service. Dishes are authentic and well served.

Raw bacon. More raw bacon under everything. Serious health hazard.

Horrible place, being honest. If Yelp would allow pictures and audio posts here, they'd be out of business. They've become really slow recently, which has caused a lot of hostility. The last few times I called to place an order, no one answered, but I gave them another try today. Upon calling today I was able to successfully place my order, but upon picking up my order, I noticed that the prices for their tacos were $1 more than what was advertised online at the time. $1.99 a taco online, $2.99 per taco once you came to pick up your order in-person. I voiced my disagreement in-person, and was sort of brushed off by the older lady that works the cash register. No biggie although, paid the $9.77 total for TWO tacos (sausage, bacon and egg w/ chz) and went about my way. Even though I walked into the establishment initially believing I was only going to spend $6-7 at most, I didn't feel like pushing the issue given the pushback I had already received. So, I left the establishment, after paying the $9.77, and went home to enjoy my tacos. Upon returning home, and taking a bite out of my first taco, I pulled out a long, stringy piece of meat. After chewing it without giving it a second thought, I immediately had to stop due to the unfamiliar consistency. I pulled whatever it was out of my mouth, just to find out that it was a long piece of RAW BACON! Of course I instantly went to check the remaining tacos and found that a lot of the bacon was either undercooked, or plain out RAW. Raw to the extent that some of the meat appeared to have never been cooked at all. I took a picture, and immediately ran back to the Taqueria to let them know of the inconvenience, and just ask for a remake. Accidents happen, even though not cooking Bacon even a little seems intentional, but to each there own. Upon walking inside, I was greeted with a smirk and a "what's wrong now" from the older lady that works the cash register. No reaction from me. "I'm just returning the tacos I purchased earlier. The bacon is really raw, sorry." I said. To which the older lady responded with rolling her eyes and saying she'd get the manager. Keep in mind, I also opened the tacos up to display how raw the bacon was so they could see what I seen. When the manager walked out from the back, his only statement was "do you want refund, or remake tacos" verbatim and in an aggressive tone. Me being a polite but also a stand- up guy, I replied with "I initially only come in here for a remake, but I don't appreciate the attitude, so I'll probably want a refund now." The manager gets quiet, but the older lady steps in. "DO YOU WANT A REFUND OR WE REMAKE TACOS"!!! She yells at me. Like literally, yells at me. We're not related, and last time I checked I wasn't adopted or anything, so she has no right to raise her voice at me, or any other customer at that! I responded and said "Please don't raise you're voice at me. I don't know what gives you the right to raise your voice at a customer. I just came in to get a remake because my tacos were RAW lol." I did add in after that "this is probably why there aren't any customers here", but in my defense it was in a professional manner, and the lady just yelled at me over getting a refund dude. Super inappropaite. And it was 12:30 and I was the only customer there. Once again, I can see why. Horrible food, well inedible since I literally couldn't eat it, and even worse service. Management is complicit. Whoever the owns it needs a complete overhaul. No business ever stays profitable for long with employees like that. If the owners are interested, please contact me for pictures and/or recordings. I'll be taking what I have to 311, BBB, and wherever else I can. Worst restaurant experience Ive even received, and I've been to restaurants where I wasn't even served before haha. I'd honestly rather have that than this. Save your money. Pflugerville taco house is right down the road, and they have great food and people!

This is a great hidden local Mexican spot off of i35/ wellsbranch. Parking is limited but worth it. The service is good as they are attentive. I recommend the mini steak tacos, enchiladas and the horchata.

    Pambasos Torta

My mom and I took a field trip up Living Spaces in Pflugerville. Originally we had gone to Cafe Java in Round Rock for breakfast but they had an hour wait. So I quickly whipped out my phone and tapped my trusty Yelpies to find a backup plan stat! This place came highly recommended and had some pretty bold comments, so at the least I was intrigued. It was a jackpot! From the street, it's not much to look at but the service and food make you realize that you wanted it to remain a hidden gem. My mom had the migas plate, which she loved. And I had the Pambaso torta. It came out looking like a well seasoned submarine and boy was it delicious! The service was exceptional and food prices were extremely reasonable. 10 out of 10, will be back if ever in that neck of the woods.

    Both very good

Let's start with the small menudo. If you don't like spicy menudo then this might be up your alley…read more As for me I was looking for spicy in every bite and never got it. Something that was very different about this menudo was that is was entirely meat and broth/juice there was 0 sign of hominey which is something I've never seen before. I love for my menudo to have lots of meat and some hominey but the fact that there was absolutely no hominey made me unsatisfied. I give the menudo overall a 3.5/10 I probably won't get that again here. The flautas were a 10/10 they were perfectly crispy all around, the meat was seasoned and the flautas definitely had a great portion of meat. The chicken flautas came smothere in cream and queso fresco as well as lettuce and tomato which all tasted fresh and went really well with those. The red and green salsa were really good and flavorful. The red one was much spicier than the green both complimented the flautas. Fruit cup was good and made fresh to order. The carne asada burrito with potato's and cheese was HUGE, very flavorful, a hint of spice and had lots of meat! 9.5/10 highly recommended only thing that could've brought it to a ten would be if the potatoes had some sort of crispiness to them, they were super soft and I prefer a crust-like outer layer on my potatoes. Beans were good, love that they put cheese in them just like my family does. The rice was good, I did add a little salt to it but overall good. The staff was sweet and patient, I came in with my two toddlers and they interacted with the staff and enjoyed their food
