In town visiting family and my husband was super excited to come here again. This was my first time and I was blown away by the creative taco options on the menu. My favorite taco of the night- hands down is the jerk chicken with mango taco! In terms of ambiance, the place was clean and I had no issues. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to service. We sat at the bar and rhe bartender we had spent a LOT of time talking to some girlfriends of hers nearby- it took what seemed like forever to be able to get our drinks and place our orders. We came here on a weekday morning for lunch. There was little wait and we were able to order and get our food pretty quickly. The restaurant was very lively, but not very busy. We ordered: - Brushfire Taco - It was delicious and chicken was juicy and it was a good combination with the sauce it came with. Overall, I found it was not very spicy, but combining with the sauce made up for it. - Baja Shrimp Taco - The shrimp was juicy and slightly crunchy, that combined with the cheese, veggies and sauce made it delicious! We also got chips with 3 different dips (Green Chile Queso, Guacamole, Street Corn). I want to give a big shout out to the manager, Javier. My husband & I went to a salsa dance class that went into overtime. We went to the gym earlier in the day & we discovered that move was a huge mistake. Needless to say, we were exhausted & hungy! We arrived at 9;58 pm on Monday & Javier let us know that the bartender had already left but he would be happy to serve us drinks & food. We were extremely happy for his hospitality! A great spot to meet friends. I love the queso and conversations that happen. The service is amazing. My order was different and not necessarily off the menu. Other than the chips and queso. I got a side of meat so I could make my own nachos. I've done it a couple times now and as much as I like the tacos I really to to Torchy's for the chips and queso. We were having a great night and we actually stayed until closing, and everyone was so great and we weren't pushed out. The consistency has improved. I've been to two different locations recently and the food had the same wonderful favor at each location. Torchy's has become somewhere where I enjoy spending time with family and friends. read more

DISGUSTING!!! Food was cold! And not fresh at all! I ordered two Baja Shrimp tacos! Disappointed. Torchy's used to be really good. They weren't busy at all so I know they know my food was cold. UPDATE: I returned and the manager happily gave me my money back. Didn't apologize or offer to remake it. I think she knew that the food was cold. Salmon taco was not good and did not taste fresh either. Chips are mid. Tots were the highlight which is just really disappointing. They didn't give me the queso for my nachos and I called to notify them I didn't get any queso for my nachos and the manager only offered a refund of $3 for the Nachos of which I paid $12 for since I got the pico sour cream and chips. My boyfriend and I go to torchy's all the time and have a great experience. The staff is always super friendly, and the food is always great. This time we went and sat at the bar and the bartender wasn't the most pleasant. She barely spoke to us, never smiled once, barely checked on us, and gave weird looks to us whenever we asked for something or ordered something. I am a waitress so I understand what it's like and I know people have bad days but this seemed more than that. We got our queso and it didn't look the way it normally did, but we tasted it and it was watery, had no flavor, and wasn't hot. I kindly explained what was wrong with it and she stared at me blankly and said "okay?" I asked if we could get a fresh queso and she said yes and went to get us a new one. She brought another one back and it was exactly the same as the first one but I didn't want to complain again so we told her it was a little better. Torchy's has amazing food! I have never been disappointed with any of my orders or food I've enjoyed. But I wanted to call out the team who works at the Plano location. It was during a Sunday lunch hour - the place was incredibly busy. So much going on inside and outside on the patio of the restaurant. I was running errand in the area and needed something easy to eat - hence craving for the Hillbilly queso and chips ordered through the Torchy's app. Unfortunately this particular location does not have a dedicated pick up parking spot and when this place is jumping busy, it's very difficult to find parking. I did manage to find a parking spot and ran inside to pick up my order inside. What I did find impressive, is that no matter how busy the place is, every staff member I encountered was ALWAYS kind to ask if I needed help or answer any questions. I love how hospitable they are. We sat at the bar where we always sit, about three to four times per month dropping a hundred dollars per visit. The bar tender was new and extremely slow.
