I completely understand the hype of Torchy's when I first went I was overwhelmed (in a positive way) over the menu items. I love the variety and creativity of the tacos they have to offer not only by the flavor combinations they have to offer but the names are a HOOT as well! My favorite thing here is their queso guacamole combination that they have to offer it's just of so YUM! The reason I'm giving them 3 stars even after raving them is that things have gone downhill. The service was garbage, the place wasn't even crowded. We waited about 20-30 minutes for our food, our order was wrong twice, our chips and queso came AFTER OUR TACOS. And we waited for around 30'minutes for our tacos so you can just imagine. Then we had asked for extra hot sauce for our tacos (which we asked for when we ordered) and that took another 10 minutes to come. Another thing, I feel like the place isn't worth the money anymore, I don't want to have to pay 20's for lunch every time. This isn't a causal lunch dinner place to me. Oh Tex Mex, how I loathe thee. I was a bit hesitant about coming to this place, as it was recommended by one of our guys from Europe. Yes, a guy from Europe recommended a taco place and a California Mexican trusted him. When we first walked in we were greeted by a very friendly gal at the register who made a few recommendations and another guy who was just as friendly. He spoke about their very hot salsa that is "famous" and offered us a sample. I think he over hyped it saying that if he gave us a taste h was required to give us a cup of water with it since it had habanero peppers. Bruh, I drink chile by the cup. Well I took a shot of it from one of the little plaster containers while 2 of their cooks watched and didnt flinch. Again, Tex Mex is weak AF. I brought a few of my overseas guys here and ordered 3 tacos based on their recommendations, the Trailer Park, Crossroads, and green chile pork taco. I ordered them with chips and guac, and chips with cheese for the table. All the tacos came out at the same time and were ok. Nothing special nothing good. I wasnt a fan of the chicken one, and it seems they added a lot of flavors which took away from the meat and used basic flour tortillas which were cheap and definitely factory made. 7-4-2022. Breakfast tacos are the reason we will be back. Thick fresh corn tortillas stuffed with egg cheese and bacon or chorizo. Egg cheese and potato or BYO. You can add hatch chilies for $0.25. Lots of inside seating, full bar, and several tables on the patio. The fountain has Diet Dr Pepper! Friendly service, ordered at the counter and given a pager. Food was brought to our table, not sure of that is the norm. They were open on July 4th and not busy when we arrived. I ordered 2 tacos, could only finish one. Foil sheets and paper bags are conveniently located by the drink machine for serve yourself to go style. We will be back, now that I know how delicious the breakfast is. read more

Upon coming to Texas, this was probably one of the top suggested food places from friends and family. That might be heavily influencing my rating because my expectations were so high but I'd have to say that I was not impressed at all. I know there are multiple locations so it could have easily been the place we went or even just the day but our food came out cold and didn't taste fresh at all. I've heard they have a really good "secret menu" although I can't confirm because I ordered whatever the cashier suggested. The tacos were mediocre. I'm more of a authentic street taco kind of girl and I these definitely weren't that. However, I will say that torchys taco does have a wide selection of tacos which is nice. I don't want to complain too much about this place because it wasn't a negative experience by any means. I just felt that it was a little underwhelming and nothing I will be coming home to my friends to rave about. read more

I went to this Torchy's location last night for the first time in awhile (6 years, judging by my last review here?) and just had to laugh...the young employees up front who take your order are STILL incredibly rude...they don't smile, they don't greet you, they don't thank you. You might think they are mute because they say almost nothing, and they almost ignore you at off-peak hours unless you make an effort to track them down in the hallway back area and get them to come back to the cashier area so you can place an order. Very often, there's just no one there up front. A thoroughly unpleasant experience once again! This rudeness and poor attitude has been going on for 6+ years in my estimation (see my old reviews!), so I can't write this off anymore as just a bad batch of kids. This is obviously down to poor training, poor hiring, poor management. I've been to other Torchy's, like the one at Preston and Beltline, where the employee attitude is just fine. But not this one. It's consistently HORRIBLE. I try to avoid this location at all costs but I couldn't tonight because of being in the area and wanting taco's. Oh yeah, the food here is still great. The service? We always stop at Torchy's Tacos for brunch after church!! Their tacos are amazing, not to mention their brunch drink specials. I had a Tito's Bloody Mary and my husband loves their homemade sangria (only $3), It is so delicious. Then I tried a Tito's and grapefruit juice, and it was so yummy. You won't go wrong with the chips & queso, very good to start off with. my husband always orders the breakfast taco with potato, egg, cheese & bacon on flour tortilla & I ordered the Ace of Spades with brisket and sausage with over easy egg on top and cheese. It is so good and flavorful!! We always sit at the bar to talk to everyone. Our amazing bartenders today were Brittany and Kate. Torchy's was one of the first taco places I tried when I first moved to Dallas. I thought it was good, but then I tried others and realized that Torchys is more gimicy than it is tasty. Unfortunately, this one is the same. We came with a large group at lunch time so it was pretty busy. They definitely seemed understaffed. There were dirty tables and we were confused who was supposed to bus them (clean up your own mess or leave it for the staff to clean?). We ordered chips, salsa, guac and queso for the table. They ran out of red salsa so they brought us green salsa, which was ok with me. I ordered 2 tacos and they were ok, not great.
