Just got the nachos as takeout. I thought I would give Torchys another shot at the nachos but a different location. Everything is great BUT what is up with so few chips for all the toppings again!! Good tacos, friendly staff, comfortable interior. The woman at the counter was very helpful in explaining to us the menu and offering recommendations. She took our order quickly and efficiently. The food came out fast, and it was delicious. The four tacos and guacamole we ordered were all great. Honestly, the only comment I can make is that the guacamole proved to be more spicy than our tacos (despite having the hottest sauce, the tacos packed very light heat if any - might have been a fluke in our order). My daughter ordered Torchy's via Door Dash a few days ago. She ordered a burrito, which was a decent size and she said it was pretty good, I ordered the Trailer Park Hillbilly style off the "secret menu". The price ended up being $8.20 because I added crispy potatoes. What I got didn't even fill the bowl. There was 3/4 of a chicken strip, maybe 2 tator tot style potatoes and very little else. Torchy's Tacos is signature Texas fare, so when in Texas, we had to give them a try. We came here for brunch. They had lots of scrumptious tacos on the menu, but I was in the mood for a light meal, so I ordered only one taco (though I wish I was hungrier for more). One taco was plenty satisfying for me. They also have breakfast tacos which come with a hearty serving of eggs in each. I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos (fried shrimp, cabbage slaw, pickled jalapeños and onions, cotija cheese, and cilantro). The cashier was super helpful with explaining the menu- you get to choose the tortilla (flour or corn) and can switch up the sauces and/or get them on the side. The Baja shrimp tacos came with a "chipotle sauce" on the side (actually chipotle ranch). I chose the flour tortilla and swapped out the chipotle sauce for avocado sauce and tomatillo. I also got to try the roja and chipotle ranch. My favorites were the avocado sauce followed by the roja. They also have extra lime wedges at the drink station, a must-have for my tacos. Our orders were brought out quickly. The taco was good overall, but I do prefer a crunchy, heartier batter on the fried shrimp; the batter on the Baja shrimp tacos was very light and delicate. After ordering, we saw everyone else snacking on chips and queso - it looked so tasty, we just had to have some! Do yourself a favor and order the chips and queso - you won't regret it! Free refill on chips. Pro tip: squeeze lime on the chips. Overall, Torchy's Tacos is a solid taco chain. Prices were reasonable, service was welcoming, and I would come back for more. read more

Are at the one just off Gossling today. Had the pulled pork tacos and small Queso. The tacos were packed with pulled pork. The toppings were definitely a compliment. The Queso was Amazing. This was my first time at this establishment. One of my daughters had told me that the tacos were really good. I sat at the bar and my service was wonderful. I received a small dish of queso as it was my first visit there. I ordered two tacos, but I have to say when they came out they were barely warm. I was so hungry. Apparently, this place is considered to be a staple in Texas so bar in all of our long waits in our previous choices this became a go-to spot for a party of eight. They got a whole Lotta tacos with a lot of strange names so I try to keep up and follow but I will have to say in the end, they actually turned out to be pretty good. Most importantly they have a full bar!!! When in line you can grab a menu to gauge but it is very difficult to narrow down your choices. For lunch we ordered two kids meals along with some individual tacos called Waffle taco was probably the most interesting of all (aka the Roscoe Taco I believe) which included a waffle, fried egg, fried chicken and a slice of bacon with some syrup. 06/02/2022 I'm in town from Beverly Hills, CA. My moms been in the hospital for over a month. She recently had 4 organs removed and diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I'm also taking care of my grandmother as my mom can't be here. It's been a difficult time for our family. I grew up in the woodlands, left when I was 17. I'm a Founder/CEO now and 31 years old. I've been in town taking care of my mom and grandmother. My moms still in the hospital as I write this review. I was excited to destress and try a new restaurant as this one replaced the old Mexican restaurant from my childhood. The staff at the registers were nice. I did not realize there was a bar until after I placed my order. I walked to the bar and when I sat down "Morgan" immediately came up to me and asked if I placed a Togo order. I let her know I didn't know there was a bar before I placed my order. Morgan then asks me to not sit at the bar. As you could understand as a first time customer and family stress on top of that I was disappointed to say the least. I'm used to tipping well and being greeted with kindness and respect. I was also planning on ordering more drinks... Morgan stated she needed to keep seats open for other customers yet the entire time I was there only 3 people sat at the bar... Her demeanor and reason made absolutely no sense. I also tip bartenders 50%+ and I would have become a regular since the food was good and other staff were nice. Morgan, you have a lot to learn regarding customer service and you shouldn't make assumptions. I'm disappointed with the service from the bar I received today. Solid three stars here. Torchy's Tacos is going to be the hot spot of The Woodlands for some time. A great place for the family. I ordered the Beef Fajitas taco, Shrimp Baja taco, and their Queso cheese dip. Wife ordered a burrito and stole chips and dip off my order. With two waters - out the door w/ tip for about $26 The tacos are good size and they don't go shy on the fillings so in retrospect I could have got by with just one. The burrito was very large ( wife took 1/2 to lunch the next day ) and fill with very good quality fillings. What I really enjoyed was the quality and quantity of the ingredient they used. You just don't find that much anymore. They staff is young and incredibly hard working. For a new restaurant they are well trained. I'm a picky eater so when I ordered Queso w/ no Guacamole in it, taco with no pickled jalapeño , and a different sauce on the taco on a busy night you would figure it would come out wrong. Nope, everything was perfect. Staff, was very efficient for a busy night. One person is busing tables , food is flying out of the kitchens, restaurant is kept clean and everyone around me seemed like they were having a great time. The food was great (DEF get the queso), but the service is what sold me. Our bartender (Josh) was so welcoming and friendly. He recommended the Tokyo Drifter (love this name since it's my fave F&F movie - totally meant to be :P) and he was so attentive! The atmosphere is very casual - you order upfront at the register, get your own drinks, and find your own seat. Richard S. review says that everyone is complaining about the service or the wait time, but I've never had anything other than friendly service and we only have to wait when they are busy. It is the food! The breakfast tacos are always rubbery and dull, and the dinner tacos are average with some packed so much nonsense flavor combos that it is overwhelming. You can't miss the red pitchforked handles on the door to the entrance or the iconic little devil logo as you pull into the strip mall of the newest counter ordering food chain that just invaded The Woodlands. The long lines have kept me at bay but after the last day of school my child insisted he have a Torchi's Taco because all his friends at school said they have the "best" tacos. So if you have an elementary school kid, a high school kid (this seems to be popular with that crowd) or work nearby with limited choices. This might be a fun alternative. We ordered one beef taco with avocado, diced white onions, and cilantro on a flour tortilla (you can choose corn). The fried chicken taco...this is Texas so something's gotta be fried or BBQd. Then we chose a shrimp taco with loads of toppings and crispy fried shrimp. They deliver it all to your table along with salsas. You pick your table, hang up your order number and pour your own fountain drink (which are fun flavors like dark cherry). CONS: You can't pick your own salsa's from a salsa bar-which was okay for me, since the salsa's brought out were very tasty. If you want more tacos...or chips...or a brownie for dessert...I guess you gotta stand back in the long xxx line? No bueno. We could have used a little basket of chips and "Queso" to snack on before the tacos came, so I recommend you order a basket because although our tacos were satisfying, they weren't filling. Prices for three tacos and two sodas was $17. Service was friendly and they ask "how do you want your tacos?" "Trashy or Trailerpark?" Since i wasn't familiar with the Torchy lingo I had to ask for an explanation. And since the restaurant was super loud and crowded I didn't hear the complete answer. Something to do with toppings...I think. So get acclimated by googling the lingo if you're an "outlander" like me because this Texas chain has got a hold on many locals as a favorite taco bar. I was turned off by some hillbilly mom who let her kid sit at the bar...literally (which back home in AZ is illegal) and the tacos were okay but nothing outstanding stood out on this visit.
