First of all, I want to address the review about "not being of Mexican decent". That is bs. I'm white and have been to Dumass twice now, and they've been friendly and courteous to me each time. Check your attitude and bias at the door. Second, Dumass Tacos are good but not great. I'm not a fan of a Chipotle style breakfast taco joint, and would prefer to custom order my tacos. And by custom, I'm not doing an insane Starbucks type of customization. I just don't want eggs with my bacon, potato, and cheese taco. I was told they were busy and didn't have time to make the bacon without eggs. Kind of weird; the food is all precooked that morning. The fillings (egg, bacon/chorizo/egg) have ABSOLUTELY no flavor and the only thing good out of my $13 was the coffee (only took 3 bites of everything else because it was truly lacking that much flavor that even salt and pepper couldn't help it). Woke up at 2 am July 3rd,2021 with severe food poisoning from DumasTaco on FM 2978 and it only got worse after that my wife took me to emergency room St. Luke's on 249 Monday July 5th because of severe diarrhea and vomiting that wouldn't stop great hospital they saved me from further suffering . No this isn't a prank. Dumass Taco really exists. The gimmick got me through the door the first time. But will the food bring me back for seconds? Sure. Let's talk tacos: I tried the Tinga (spicy chicken), Beef Fajita, Chicken Fajita, and Al Pastor. They were all decent but none of them blew me away. The beef was nicely seasoned. The chicken was dry. The Al Pastor was good but forgettable. The Tinga was NOT spicy but still tasted pretty good. One thing that I found interesting is that they put rice and beans in their tacos. It certainly didn't detract from the taste, but it didn't really add anything either. Bonus points are awarded for homemade tortillas. But a penalty is incurred for charging $1.75 per taco (the range where I live is $1.25-1.40). So where does that leave us? 3 stars. Sure I would go back, but I may not be craving Dumass tacos anytime soon. read more

This location has a weird vibe. If you are not of Mexican decent then you get less service. The lady preparing the food gives half portion of food and is rude to non- Spanish speaking customers. On the other hand, the Mexican customers get overflowing portions and made to feel welcome. Not a friendly place to buy from. It's too bad too because the food is good. read more

With the name and location, I was hoping for authentic real Mexican Mexican food. Walking in seeing the workers were Mexican so I was excited. Sadly, I had a barbacoa burrito, and .... it was a big failure. The meat, it's not the real barbacoa. It's regular American beef brisket. I was very sad, the burrito was 8 bucks, I should have gone to FreeBirds and probably liked my burrito more. It also fell apart when I picked it up. From 7:15 to 7:43 am when I was there, there was ONE Mexican man walking in and ordered in Spanish, the rest were regular American folks, and I started to understand the place. Why is this place so highly rated? That was the first question that popped into my head as soon as walked into the place. Overpriced for mediocre food. The place reminds me of a crappy taco truck. The people are rude and don't speak very good english. I cant speak for the breakfast tacos but i will not be coming back for the lunch. And just a suggestion, put the salsa on the tables or at least have more than one green and one red sauce available. And some chips couldn't hurt. read more

This is for the restaurant on SH249. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because my wife liked part of her meal. I ordered a chicken fajita taco and a beef fajita on flour tortillas. They were served cold and it went downhill from there. The food was served in a red plastic basket similar to what you see at Dairy Queen, with a thin piece of paper between the food and the basket. It was impossible to lift and eat. The paper did not survive the first cut. I think I wound up eating more than half the paper. I suggested to the lady behind the counter they offer the customer a more solid plate, such as my wife's enchiladas were in. She offered to put the tacos in another basket (with no paper.) On top of this, it was over priced. This was a lifetime experience for me. I will never go go back there as long as I live. read more

This spot is the real deal for no frills dining. The service is great. The red salsa will light up any Yankees in your group (which is fun to do). Give them some green sauce and laugh when they start running! The breakfast tacos are filling, the serving portions are great. Take out to your office and be a hero! Heartily recommend though sticking to flour tortillas as the corn quickly come apart - but are extremely tasty! I drop in every time I have to go to Tomball Orth (shout out they are great BTW).
