I've always wanted to visit the velvet taco. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat for dinner. I didn't realize they have a drive-through. We ordered tacos, one of their signature bowls, a kids quesadilla, and tater tots. I also tried the Watermelon Basil Margarita which was very refreshing! There's a large menu displayed on the wall for customers to view before ordering. My husband ordered three tacos - bunt ends, slow roasted brisket, and chicken. I tried the burnt ends, it was delicious . I only wish the tacos were on a corn tortilla instead of flour. The Mexi-Cali Shrimp Bowl was delicious...btw it's gluten Came with salsa, guacamole, shrimp, cilantro, micro greens over a bit of rice. I wish it was more of a salad instead of a rice bowl. But nonetheless, the flavors were 10/10. Plenty of shrimp, and I was full. My kids have a limited pallet, they took a few bites of the cheese, quesadilla and eyeball the tater tots for about 15 minutes then finally ate a few. I would definitely return here again. I tried velvet taco for delivery from Door Dash. There location was @6 minutes from my job and that equated to quick delivery. I tried their cheeseburger, taco and guacamole with chips. The taco was basically a cheeseburger with a soft taco so it was pretty easy to eat. It was very tasty. Also I very much enjoyed the guacamole. It was so fresh and it comes with a large bag of black chips, which would be enough for several sittings. Based on the fact, delivery was quick and a product was excellent. Loved the fusion tacos. Rotisserie chicken was fantastic. Salmon taco also very good, but could have used some seasoning on the fish. We struggled with the tiny sporks but afterwards we saw that they had real forks at register. Just give those out, would make life much easier. My wife and I stopped here for dinner on a whim. It looked very nice from the outside. When we went inside, it was very cold, like a meat locker. We were surprised that is was not a sit down and order restaurant from the exterior appearance. The interior layout is very much like a fast food restaurant. My wife ordered a couple of tacos with a side of guacamole and chips and a margarita. I ordered a chicken tikka bowl. The presentation of the food was visually adequate but that's where it ends. My wife's tacos were not very good. her margarita came out of a box, it was horrible. Even the guacamole wasn't good. The chicken tikka bowl was very spicy, which is fine by me. However, the food was cold, and the tikka was very grainy and pasty. The girl who took her order, did it wrong and we were overcharged, when this was discovered the manager did take care of it and refunded my card the difference. I would say that the service was subpar and the food is very overpriced. When we were done with our food, which was so bad we couldn't finish it, we went to get a couple of refills on our drinks before we left, and the manager asked how everything was, so we let her know as diplomatically as we could, and she couldn't care less, she actually had a smirk on her face, she was very insincere in her reaction. Also, by the drink station, they have a painting of a woman eating red velvet cake, which is a little suggestive and a little inappropriate I feel for a family restaurant, if it was a bar no big deal but a place where people bring their kids to eat, I thought it was a bit much. My one complaint is that they give you the tacos on this little stand, and then you sit at tables that have slats in them, so invariably your tacos drip out of the holder and through the table, so watch your knees. The angus brisket taco is delicious, the Mexi Cali shrimp taco is also a delicious, filling, flavorful choice, and some love their red velvet cake. I honestly don't know what taco was my favorite. I loved THEM ALL. The Cuban Pig and Kobe Bacon Burger tacos even had pickles which I don't prefer, however I didn't even taste them. How awesome I get to experience a grand opening on opening day! The place looked packed as we entered the parking lot, but upon entering the restaurant there was no line. We perused the menu to the best of our ability, as we are unfamiliar with this taco chain restaurant but have read good things, and it's tacos so we must try it out. Everything in the menu looks too involved for me as I'm very plain. I asked the employee, who I believe was more of a supervisor roll due to how she held herself (very professional and friendly like it wasn't her first rodeo but I am not sure, her name was LeeAnne)... asked her what to get since I basically like meat and cheese. Told her to choose two for me. I asked for shredded cheddar as my cheese. Hubby ordered #7 #10 and #18, I do like how the tacos associate with a number, makes ordering easy. Apparently there are different taco shells as well since LeeAnne asked me what kind I wanted, I am not picky with taco shells so again told her to choose. I like that she had no issue with this at all. I realize it probably wasn't fair of me to do on the very first day when they are learning their bearings. Food came out decently fast for the amount of people there, they call your name and you head to the pick up counter. Mine came on a soft taco shell and I got steak and rotisserie chicken. The meat on both my tacos was very good and I couldn't figure out why there was a strange taste, until I realized halfway through my second taco it was the cheddar. I believe the cheddar was actually smoked cheddar, which I didn't like at all. So I picked the remaining cheese off and enjoyed my only meat taco lol. Myself and a couple of friends stopped here early evening. We were treated poorly by the mgr, Julie mgr. She has no class or decorum. My friend ordered 2 tacos and substituted one with corn. Julie charged a 5.00 up charge but never mentioned anything about. I asked for a substitution on my order from cole slaw to beans and it was a 5.00 up charge as well until l saw it was a black bean. I saw Julie peeping through the back to see if l would get my wallet from the floor. I picked it up and asked her what her name was. She started yelling. I asked her why didnt she tell me my wallet fell on the floor before l Walked outside. She played dumb like she never saw it fall on the floor, yet she was standing there looking at it when i came back from outside. Margaritas were undrinkable. Food was not what we ordered. Response from the employees was "too bad so sad." And then the girl that acts like a manager that yells orders in to the microphone is the wrong person to be in front of employees. She probably has some ism going, but she can come off as super rude. If there is no neurodivergence going on, then Velvet should think about reassigning her to a truck driver or something that does not require interpersonal skills. We really enjoyed our first visit to Velvet Taco. This location was open and spacious, and luckily not busy when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were friendly and service was quick. Your name is called over the mic when your order is ready. There's mild and hot salsa in bottles you take to your table. We tried the hot and it had a nice flavor but I didn't need it for my tacos. We had the delicious Elote Guac and I personally had the Kobe Smash Burger (well done, no onions) and the Picnic Chicken tacos. I loved the Kobe taco! It was perfectly cooked, so juicy, and the flavors were delicious. The cheese blend tasted like American cheese paired really well with all the flavors. The tortilla was so soft. The Picnic taco flavor was fine, but the chicken was dry, the tortilla was a little tough, and it needed a little more of the avocado creama. The potato salad seems to be mustard based but the mustard flavor isn't overwhelming. My mom had the Fried Paneer, Nashville Hot Tofu, and Mediterranean Mushroom. She enjoyed them all but her favorite was the Mediterranean Mushroom. We definitely plan to return to try the vast variety or tacos available. read more

We went to Velvet Taco for a first visit - our New Year's resolution is to try new places...it was overall pretty good, but as my mother in law used to say a little spendy. My 3 year old, upon pulling up declared "it's so pretty". My tikka taco was properly spicy. The queso blanco was good, but their chips are a little on the thick side. My margarita was good, but nothing spectacular. I liked that each table had a bag hook on the underside - that's a good idea. Also cool that they have a QR code at each table if you decide to order another taco. For dine in - I wish they had plates, forks and knives- probably my just me on that as I have a little one with at still needs food cut up into tiny bites. I was expecting a lot from this place after all of the hype from its opening a few months ago, and I was disappointed after my visit. I ordered the #12 slow-roasted angus brisket taco, and it did not taste all that great. As a chips and queso enthusiast, I was really looking forward to trying their queso. It was mediocre at best. Good, but weird. I went with my family tonight and tried the red curry coconut queso, the chicken tikka taco, and the Cuban pig taco. I love the concept of fusion food presented as tacos, but it was a little much. I enjoyed the red curry coconut queso - it was like regular queso, and then you had the hints of red curry and coconut shone through at the end. It was served with blue corn chips (although not enough for all that cheese!). The chicken tikka taco was tasty - I liked the chicken and the sauce was quite good, but the rice on a taco was a bit much for me. Not bad, just odd. The same could be said for the Cuban taco.
