    Cozumel Salad
    Elizabeth H.

Ordered my first Cozumel Salad consisting of chicken, avocadoes, pineapple, strawberries, tomatoes and candied pecans in seashell shaped tortilla. It was almost too pretty to eat. The food wad fresh & delicious. Our server Nick was very attentive. Going to try to sit in his area again.

We go to this restaurant as often as we can. Great ambiance. The staff are always kind and accommodating. We shared the Veracruz Fajitas and they were the perfect amount to split between two people. And they are delicious! Got a side of the Elote which is always good. Our kids got the mac and cheese and they loved it. Great family atmosphere, great prices, great food! 10/10

Ribeye Street Tacos, rice and refried beans - delicious

Location is really nice on the edge of the Woodlands (west) just off Woodland's Parkway. Ambiance is nice and service was excellent. They have a nice outside area as well. We only had the complimentary chips and salsa for our appetizer but did add a side of Pico de Gallo which was nice and fresh. The two salsa offerings were very tasty and very different in flavor. I personally enjoyed them mixed. Dinner was excellent. Both meals pictured. They were prepared perfectly, very good flavor, and the presentation was nice and inviting. The ribeye was tender and served street style was the right choice. Highly recommended. A little complementary "twist" ice cream to finish out the meal was the perfect finish.

The decor in this spot is so cute. Because of the lack of natural light, you're really immersed in the fantasy, I'll pass on the fajita tacos next time but will def reorder the queso, and churros-spoiler alert, they're filled. Our service was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, pleasant and friendly, but if I had any real suggestions, it would be to sit by the free soft serve. So worth it! Even if you do not partake, watching folks in all walks of life while they navigate the soft serve machine for themselves or others. If you're in the area, it's def worth stopping in!

    Traditional Beef Enchiladas.. great!

First time visit!! Typical great food, service and ambiance!! And the margaritas are the best! Worth a visit if a nice restaurant with great food and service is preferred over a small taqueria or strip center Mexican restaurant (not that they are bad.. I do frequent many!) just my opinion..

The food was pretty good, definitely more of a Tex-Mex and less authentic Mexican food. The place is clean, service was quick. The only thing they could improve are the beans and rice. It's nice that everyone can have ice cream that's included for all to just help themselves.

Came here for a birthday dinner with my co workers on a Thursday night. I wasn't expecting it to be busy but it was and we had a 45 minute wait before we were seated. We did have the option to visit the bar during the wait so that was nice. Service - good service from our waiter Daniel. He did decent for us being a large group of 9. Food- many of us ended up getting tacos, burritos, and I tried the appetizer sampler because i wanted a bit of everything. Our main complaint was it was a bit overpriced but good nonetheless. Overall- a decent option if no other Tex Mex restaurant in the area is not open.

Easily enough onions for 5 people- a bit wasteful.

It's really gone downhill. We were in this evening for dinner- 2 adults and 3 kids. The hostess seated us promptly and the server greeted us quickly. The chips were mediocre (tasted like a bag of Tostitos, or worse- bland and not the usual Mexican restaurant kind). The kids meals are very small so we opted to order our boys an adult sized $14 burrito with no queso (dairy allergy). No rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes in the burrito- literally just a folded tortilla with taco meat. It was so small (stark contrast to the last time when my kids ordered an adult burrito and it was huge- so this time we opted to split one for them). My daughter ordered adult soft tacos. Again- a $14 or so meal- a flour tortilla with ground beef. No lettuce/ tomatoes/ pico etc. She asked for no cheese. I ordered combo beef/ chicken fajitas for 1. The fajita beef had a terrible taste and consistency- truly hated it. I asked what the sauce was and he said soy sauce . The chicken was fine. But there was a huge mound of sautéed onions beneath the meat. The steak comes medium but at least one piece was medium rare. It was chewy. They give you a tiny amount of guacamole and pico and cheese which we don't eat- I wished I asked for lettuce instead. My husband got shrimp fajitas which he liked. The guacamole was delicious. All this to say- the server was great, the manager was friendly and apologetic about the small burrito, but the economy has definitely hit them with shrinkflation/ declining food costs. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants and definitely our fave Mexican restaurant but it just disappointed us tonight. Probably won't be back anytime soon.

Incredible Mexican food and atmosphere. Best Mexican around! Awesome servers and management also.

My family and I enjoy coming here to celebrate food is always good and hot and the ambiance is happy

Service was okay ambiance was loud and annoying I got the steak and cheese quesadillas and they tasted like a wrapper from a fucking lollipop. Would rather go to Taco Bell instead, was gonna give 2 stars but gave 3 instead cause I felt a bit generous.

This is an older building, but I'm not sure how long they have been here. In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me.

Ordered friend shrimp and oysters with grits and fried okra. Loved the grits and fried okra but the fried shrimp seemed like it was frozen as the crust fell off when I picked it up. It was tasty and I ate it so it was Goode! Also, ordered an iced tea that was fresh and clean tasting so their equipment is well maintained. You can tell if any restaurants do not clean their dispensers as the tea tastes bitter or is milky looking. Why do I know this? You ask? Because my Dad was a coffee/tea delivery man and when I was a child he use to take me on Saturdays to run his route. We visited several Luby's Cafeteria's where he made sure the dispensers were clean and that they were making the tea properly. He showed me how he used the brushes to clean the tubes, dispenser handle and used special cleaning material on the inside. It makes a difference if your tea dispenser is clean... have I convinced you yet? Wow that was a rant! The bottom line is they have great iced tea!

To be fair, it is my own fault because I tried El Mariachi a year or two ago and thought it was gross then. However, I know everywhere deserves a second chance so I thought I'd give it another try, especially when I saw it had such a high average rating. Let me first say, service is INCREDIBLE. Truly could not ask for better. The hostess was really sweet and she stayed kind even when I could tell she was overwhelmed by all the people. We had multiple servers come by to check on us at various times and do things for us and they were all great too. Absolutely 0 staff complaints. I ordered a watermelon margarita and couldn't drink it. The syrup was completely separated from the actual drink. I left it completely full and while I didn't want to complain, I was surprised that I wasn't asked if it was okay. Had I been asked, I would've told them. My husband thought his house margarita was good, but he did order it frozen and it was already half liquid by the time he got it. The food was not good. I took one bite of my beef taco and pushed it to the side. It was essentially Taco Bell meat. No shade to Taco Bell, but if I wanted that, I would've just gone to T Bell. It sure would've been a lot cheaper. My cheese enchiladas were also not good. I asked to have sour cream sauce on top & was charged $2 for it. I wasn't told I'd be charged extra and didn't see anywhere on the menu where it said that. Even so, $2 for sauce is crazy, but $2 for sauce when the enchilada ALREADY comes with sauce on top and all you had to do was replace it?? Wild. The queso was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It's the only thing I was able to eat. Not my personal experience, but two tables in our same section had issues with their food too and had to send it back. $85 for that is crazy. I'm glad so many seem to enjoy it, but El Mariachi will never see me again.
