Their guacamole is always fresh and delicious and it was ready when I got there as well as hot when I got home! Very friendly staff who asked if I had a rewards number to make sure I got my points! It was Friday before the 4th of July and the whole place was packed! You could see the staff hustling around to make sure customers were taken care of. We were a party of 3 on Sunday evening. I've been there many times and love Gringos and two visiting family members who had never been. So first our waiter, Juan, promised a queso dip for the two "first-timers", which never arrived. We ordered, and after a long time, two meals finally arrived. No third meal; no Juan. 15 minutes or so went by. Juan finally came by and said the kitchen was really backed up. My guest cancelled his meal and said "never mind". A few minutes later, a manger (I guess - he didn't introduce himself) came to say his order was ready. Did he really not want it? We were pretty much done with our meals. Location is really nice on the edge of the Woodlands (west) just off Woodland's Parkway. Ambiance is nice and service was excellent. They have a nice outside area as well. We only had the complimentary chips and salsa for our appetizer but did add a side of Pico de Gallo which was nice and fresh. The two salsa offerings were very tasty and very different in flavor. I personally enjoyed them mixed. Dinner was excellent. Both meals pictured. They were prepared perfectly, very good flavor, and the presentation was nice and inviting. Because of the lack of natural light, you're really immersed in the fantasy, I'll pass on the fajita tacos next time but will def reorder the queso, and churros-spoiler alert, they're filled. Came here for a birthday dinner with my co workers on a Thursday night. I wasn't expecting it to be busy but it was and we had a 45 minute wait before we were seated. We did have the option to visit the bar during the wait so that was nice. Service - good service from our waiter Daniel. He did decent for us being a large group of 9. Food- many of us ended up getting tacos, burritos, and I tried the appetizer sampler because i wanted a bit of everything. Our main complaint was it was a bit overpriced but good nonetheless. It's really gone downhill. We were in this evening for dinner- 2 adults and 3 kids. The hostess seated us promptly and the server greeted us quickly. The chips were mediocre (tasted like a bag of Tostitos, or worse- bland and not the usual Mexican restaurant kind). The kids meals are very small so we opted to order our boys an adult sized $14 burrito with no queso (dairy allergy). No rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes in the burrito- literally just a folded tortilla with taco meat. It was so small (stark contrast to the last time when my kids ordered an adult burrito and it was huge- so this time we opted to split one for them). My daughter ordered adult soft tacos. Again- a $14 or so meal- a flour tortilla with ground beef. No lettuce/ tomatoes/ pico etc. She asked for no cheese. I ordered combo beef/ chicken fajitas for 1. The fajita beef had a terrible taste and consistency- truly hated it. I asked what the sauce was and he said soy sauce . The chicken was fine. But there was a huge mound of sautéed onions beneath the meat. The steak comes medium but at least one piece was medium rare. It was chewy. They give you a tiny amount of guacamole and pico and cheese which we don't eat- I wished I asked for lettuce instead. My husband got shrimp fajitas which he liked. The guacamole was delicious. All this to say- the server was great, the manager was friendly and apologetic about the small burrito, but the economy has definitely hit them with shrinkflation/ declining food costs. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants and definitely our fave Mexican restaurant but it just disappointed us tonight. Probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

Here it doesn't matter, because I can get online before arriving at the restaurant and wait for a shorter period We had a party of five today who ate here, and I had the bowl, which was really really good. If you're wanting to watch your weight and stay away from the tortillas, which is very hard to do, I highly recommend the bowl. There's a lot of food in that bowl And it's something that I would definitely order again. Let's not forget, that this restaurant like the other in its chain, all have a soft ice cream machine upon exiting. It is so good and creamy, especially when it's a hot day. Visited Gringo's for the first time ever while visiting family out in The Woodlands. Being a Cali native I've never bothered to have Tex-mex with the amazing Mexican food we have out in the west coast but am so glad we came here to eat! Stopped by for lunch on a weekday and was seated immediately. Place was decently filled and so cute inside with the design. Our server Lynden was quick at taking orders/bringing out food along with having such a sweet and helpful personality. In the past years I have eaten at this location a few times and every time was regrettable. What happens is, we tend to be a large group 6-9 people looking for food on a weekend night without a reservation. What a great experience! I took my mom there, she's 82 and has a hard time getting around. When we approached a team member quickly opened the door. We got a comfortable booth close by. Hands down the best Tex Mex I've had yet in Texas. Blue our server was top notch and very friendly. The food came out quickly and hot- everything I ordered tasted amazing. Again I'm not one to write un-thoughtful reviews nor be too afraid to admit guilt if I had actually done something disrespectful, wrong or unlawful but it is totally obserd that you publicly respond to my review as if y'all are protecting the public safety of others (ultimately accusing us of putting others at risk! Risk of what? What safety concerns did yall have? Last I heard we made her feel uncomfortable serving us without specific reason only potential hypotheses) when again our party of 3 people (me, my husband and our friend) all parents, responsible home owners and residents of The Woodlands that were trying to have dinner at Gringos in the early Friday evening were supposedly making a waitress feel uncomfortable and when asked what we did to make her feel that way was given no real reason!) The only thing I can think about (also considering we had sat at her table and been served by her for less than the time it is takes to barely finish our appetizer and Just had received our entrees which we ordered within minutes of being seated after our disastrous waiting experience-remember we were notified to get to seated but somehow the kitchen sat a different party in our intended table yet the 2 hosts were really unsure how to handle the fact we were notified our table was ready when it wasn't) our newly met server/waitress that was so uncomfortable yet SHE encouraged our friend to take a picture of her shirt sleeve QR code that apparently was bunched up so he politely asked her to straighten it (again she encouraged/brought it up to scan in the first place, otherwise he wouldn't have) she said oh yah it's fine, he scanned it and she left with our order and within mins is when manager was saying that WE made her uncomfortable. I'm still offended and even more so now seeing the Gringo's business service Linda response to my review! I hope everyone sees this (and see my reviews history because I'm logical and valuable to others with my detailed reviews and never ever have I recieved this sort of offensive and now repetitive behavior and insults from any business like I have now recieved in person and now online with Yelp from Gringos!) and this is just so appalling, so unprofessional and not once was I given benefit of the doubt nor a chance to even understand the situation so again very offended and disappointed in Gringos management and their staff that I will continue to share my experience because I know we did absolutely nothing wrong, nothing disrespectful and absolutely nothing to put anyone or anything in harms way! read more

Go to Gringos! It was a fun night out for a Tex-Mex/Mexican dinner! It was delicious food, great staff and fair prices! In addition, the decor is really enjoyable and a bit eclectic! I think Gringos is a great place to take your family and friends for a fun time out! I looked at both the reviews on Yelp and Google and found that Google had higher review ratings than Yelp (4.3 on Google compared to 3.5 on Yelp) so I really wanted to try it for myself and the result was: Definitely not disappointed and does deserve high stars print I've seen other Gringos that are pretty well decorated on the outside, looking like Las Vegas compared to the Woodlands location, which appears very unassuming and low key from the street view. But once we entered, I could see how cool Gringos looks on the inside. Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner with a small party and was pleasantly greeted and seated rather quickly. We were soon greeted by our waitress who did a wonderful job in taking our orders quickly, bringing out food quickly and continuing to refresh drinks & check up on us without being annoying. *She's probably one of the best waitresses I've encountered at a restaurant. We were immediately brought out fresh tortilla chips, with sides of salsa and guacamole. Next came dinner which, was delicious and not too salty or spicy and perfectly portioned! We ordered the following meals: *cheese quesadillas *chicken quesadillas *chicken chimichanga *Plato sodaldo (*Bonus: a portion of this purchase goes to help veterans struggling with PTSD). Everything was cooked / fried perfectly with no greasiness or sogginess. The rice was light and fluffy and the black beans were delicious. The salsas, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and jalapenos were all fresh, crisp and really complimented each of the entrees. (Note: Some other Mexican restaurants will bring out overloads of rice and refried beans, enough to feed a prison cell block, but, I felt that Gringos understands portion control without skimping.) Overall, the Woodlands Gringos deserves two BIG thumbs up! Again, I cannot stress how wonderful the entire staff was, which includes the greeters, wait staff, the bussing staff, cooks and even the manager that stopped by to check on our satisfaction. All of these elements are what make a great restaurant and a great experience for their guests! First their wait list is just bad. Joined the wait list at 5:11 was #11. Drive the 20 minutes to get there,checked the list #9. Sat outside and waited and waited. 2 hours later we are #1 and I am watching them sit group after group after group. Finally went and was told we are next. Really we've been next for 30 minutes. Gringo's is our neighborhood go to with the kids! It's casual, there are great places to eat both indoor and outdoor and there's complimentary soft serve! What's not to like? Oh yeah, their chips and salsa (I love the green salsa) are an added perk. We got the Verracruz and frozen margarita. They hit the spot! The bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious and the chicken was well cooked. Our waiter, Jude, was amazing. He was friendly, attentive, and was so sweet with our kids. My wife and I went in the early afternoon and no one else was in there and they took forever to get our food and other customers that arrived a lot later than we did got their food before we did. I told the customer that it took too long to get our food. I also informed the manager that it took too long and she couldn't care less. We will never return to this restaurant. read more
